ladyteeks: The total blocks and cement for the entire ground floor we haven't gotten to the final level of the ground floor, we're still at the window base. But as you can see from the post from the onset, we introduced ground beam (chaining), in the foundation due to the sloppy nature of the ground. At the lowest point we used double beam and the highest point we used one plank beam. Also 22 short columns then finally we chained it round with another beam before casting german floor. I explained all these to you, just to let you know what we did was not only about the block settings. For casting of ground beam Block settings Final beam Short columns German floor So far we have used 110bags of cement. 1300 9inches vibrated blocks. |

ladyteeks: How many blocks and cement did you use for the blockwork .you mean the blockwork on this german floor?. If yes, we used 550 9inches block and 10bags of cements. |

nannymcphee: Good day all, the architect has responded based on the brief I sent
CC Josnac Zabiboy Heymus Yosmen
Pls any inputs? well, I love the justice he has done to the flows within the sitting room, dining and kitchen. Your Architect can be creative more than this cos I'm still having issues with that lobby, just too much. I consider it as waste of space, that lobby itself has taken much percentage from the building. That lobby it's a no no no for me. |

Nbotee: I meant to say "Flat" not building. I want to assume dat plan is for the first floor whixh if it only leads to the balcony at the back ground floor plan not first floor |

nannymcphee: I dont fully get this, please can you explain in another way
A rough sketch might help please.
This is the front elevation, my understanding is that circle 1 leads to the entrace door to the ground floor
circle 2 leads to the staircase to the 1st floor
some folks advised I introduce window in the dining and passage, what i dont get is this is an enclosed staircase, what difference will the window make. yes I understand that, where you marked 1 stands for the entrance to the flat on the ground floor and 2 is the entrance that leads to the upper floor, so I mean the staircase you're having at the back (exit from the kitchen). Just look at the sketch I attached, never mind about the look Those who are telling you about the ventilation of the lobby and sitting room are very correct, that enclosed staircase is really choking the ventilation of the dining, lobby and sitting room. Your Architect should be creative enough to give room for cross ventilation in your living room at least. Expecially that long lobby, it will be dark at the end of the day.

Nbotee: Why is ur backyard balcony d only part of the building with access to the stairs? That's not true, there are 2 staircase in that building, one for the entrance and other for the exit from kitchen (excape route). To the op kindly tell your Architect to open the exit staircase outside not inside the balcony on the ground floor. Reasons are 1. The staircase is not meant for the flat on the ground floor so why opening it in the apartment?. 2. This will enable the people using the upper floor to do anyhow on another people's balcony when they are trying to access the staircase. |
