Business › Re: Why Has Dangote Said More Words In 2 Months Than He Did In 16years by higgs: 8:26pm On Aug 09, 2024
The steep devaluation of the naira since Tinubu came in has been catastrophic for business including Dangote's. The exchange rate is very high and stability has not been achieved, which shows that the policy is not working. The refinery is also the biggest project Dangote has ever undertaken and he borrowed heavily to complete it .The man is also facing sabotage from fuel importers.Even government officials in the oil sector who should be doing everything possible to ensure that the refinery achieves full steady state production seem to be part of the conspiracy to frustrate the project.Dangote is under a lot of pressure .

Perhaps if your “industrious brothers from the South East” have not been killing the South Afrikans with their Cocaine-Trafficking business, the story would have been different today.

Politics › Re: N1tn Spent To Fight Insecurity In Six Months – Open Treasury by higgs: 7:41pm On Aug 07, 2024
One trillion naira was spent on security, that is almost a billion US dollars. After spending such a humongous amount on security, citizens still can't travel to Lagos or Abuja without fear of being kidnapped.
Politics › Re: Nigerian Military Flags, Not Russian Flags By Farooq Kperogi by higgs: 9:13am On Aug 06, 2024
We don't need military rule. What we need is free and fair elections, not a case where Inec swore that results from every polling booth will be immediately uploaded to their portal immediately after elections while voters are still there and then fail to do what they said. When You don't have free and fair elections, even if civilians are in charge, it is not democracy but a civilian dictatorship.

Politics › Re: Lagos Indigenes Write Gov, Demand Details Of Dangote’s $100M Land Purchased by higgs: 7:05pm On Aug 04, 2024
Fractional distillation is just one of many fuel producing proccesses in a modern refinery. Besides distillation (both atmospheric and vacuum),there is also fluid catalytic cracking (FCC),catalytic reforming and alkylation.Fuel products from all these units are blended/mixed to get products with the right octane number and quality. Also note that even without all the crude supply issues and obvious sabotage from fuel importers including NNPC,a huge 650k bpd refinery will take some time to achieve full steady state production.
OPICANTO2223:
This is serious. Honestly that land is huge It extends from Idasho community to Okunraye community. It is 30 minutes drive with a speed of 100km/h.

It still baffles me why a refinery is only producing diesel whereas a normal refinery using fractional distillation should produce flammable Gas, PMS, Aviation fuel, kerosene, Diesel and others.

Something is fishy. I just hope is not another portharcourt or kaduna refinery in display. Time will tell but to me the time is now. Danger danger danger. 22billion dollars waste is not moi moi.
Politics › Re: Documents Show Dangote Deceived Lawmakers, Diesel Quality Worse Than Presented by higgs: 2:07pm On Aug 04, 2024
Why are these people hell bent on ensuring that this Dangote refinery doesn't work? The same people that have collected billions of dollars to fix government owned refineries and they are still not working. The same people who import substandard fuel into Nigeria. These people are demons who are determined to destroy Nigeria because of selfish interests.

Politics › Re: Planned Protest: FG Begins To Sell 50kg Rice At N40,000 by higgs: 10:28pm On Jul 29, 2024
One truck of rice is about 900 bags,so 10 trucks is 9,000 bags.In a state with a population of 4 million people out of which 1.5 million are abjectly poor, how does 9k bags of rice solve the hunger problem? What of drugs that have become unaffordable? What the government needs to do is to bring inflation under control and find a way to reduce the pump price of petrol. People should be able to live decently with the little money they earn.
Politics › Re: FEC Orders NNPC To Sell Crude Oil To Dangote, Other Refineries In Naira by higgs: 9:24pm On Jul 29, 2024
This is not a gift to Dangote, rather the president is trying to save his administration by calming frayed nerves. All the talk about protests is mainly because of inflation. Inflation will continue to worsen for as long as the government is unable to stabilise the value of the naira.Inflation is the worst enemy of the poor, because it robs us of the little purchasing power we have. Let's hope the Dangote refinery works and Nigeria stops importing refined petroleum products completely, that will really help to strengthen and stabilise naira

Politics › Re: Protests: Tinubu’s Real Troubles Are Just Beginning - Farooq Kperogi by higgs: 8:57am On Jul 28, 2024
Kperogi has obviously not taken out time to research and understand Peter Obi.Obi will never spend millions of USD on a presidential jet while the economy is in this terribly parlous state.Obi's supporters are mostly young, educated people who will not hesitate to call him out if he becomes evil. The man is not perfect but he is better than the others.
Business › Re: Africa’s Richest Man Versus Nigerian Government Is Uncharted Territory by higgs: 8:49pm On Jul 26, 2024
Start your own refinery and cement factories and ask for waivers. Many of You are just full of envy and jealousy. Your jealousy should not blind You to the economic benefits of Dangote's businesses:employment for many Nigerians, taxes to federal and state governments, strenghtening the naira through his import substitution efforts etc Meanwhile the NNPC people attacking Dangote should tell us why all the government owned refineries are not working after billions of dollars have been spent on them.
helinues:
It be like we don get emergency lovers of everything for Nigeria oo

Between Dangote and FG, who should Nigerians be supporting? Dangote is not the only business man in Nigeria to have been granted some unnecessary waivers. Those must be rectified.

Since those policies have been favouring him, we didn't hear peem

grin

Africans don't like producing anything, we prefer to import from other countries. Part of the problem is that we have some of the most corrupt and decadent human beings on earth at the top echelons of our public service.Devil will surely reserve the hottest place in hell for Nigerian leaders.

It is now clear that Nigeria's corrupt leaders don't want the country to industrialize and develop. They want us to remain a dumping ground for imported foreign products.Dangote is not a saint, but he has done more for Nigeria's economy than any president, governor or minister.

Why are all the victims hiding their names? One of the reasons why injustice thrives in this country is the excessive timidity of citizens. One man, however powerful he may be,cannot defeat all the victims if they unite and fight for their rights. The moment he realizes that they are united and organised in seeking justice, he will be serious about making restitution.
