A 650k bpd refinery needs a lot of crude to achieve continuous steady state production. Nigerian oil production volumes has been seriously affected by so called crude oil theft and under investment by major players.In addition to that,a good percentage of future production has already been used to take loans and there must be some leftover that will be sold to earn fx which the country badly needs,so for now,Dangote has no option but to import crude.In the long run,Dangote may need to also become an upstream player so that he can assist produce enough crude to feed his huge refinery.

There is too much hatred and division in Nigeria. No country can move forward with this level of hatred and disunity

Increasing MPR to the level it is now is not a good idea because it makes it harder for businesses to borrow which leads to reduced economic activities and worse unemployment. Why should banks risk lending to the private sector when they can simply buy TBs and earn good rates?
CBN should reduce the MPR and work with the fiscal authorities on more sustainable ways of stabilising the naira:increasing oil production and eliminating oil theft,serious support for local manufacturers, tackling insecurity which is affecting food production etc

Those who fetch ant infested firewood should not complain when lizards visit them.

There is need to privatise every segment of the power industry, from generation,transmission and distribution.
