DapoBear:He was not a dealer, just a consumer. You know this stuff affects the brain cells unlike alcohol and I think its even cheaper. Most youths in Nigeria have taken to Marijuana which is a cause for concern |
DapoBear:I attended secondary school in Nigeria and I have a friend who is still confined in chains till date as a result of Marijuana, am sure the one they smoke down there in naija is way too harsh. Little wonder most of our lawmakers fight in the chambers cos they blaze their brains off in the morning before their sessions. When you visit Nigeria again try and check how lil boys abuse Marijuana. So marijuana is as well very bad and its abuse is really getting out of hand |
^^^Young man, why are you so hateful, we are talking about drugs here which has ravaged the lives of so many people like you and instead of you to be happy that government is actually doing something rather you want to derail this thread. You can start another business and stop playing with drugs. Food for thought, u can do the dishes |
There is a high record of drug dealings in Ekiti. They should deploy more NDLEA officers to the region |

Give her a couple of hot and aggressive intimacy and take to my wheels |
jason12345:To an extent Ohanaeze should be involved politically, how best can they protect the interest of Ndigbo if not by so doing |
@Poster Source please @Op I do not see anything wrong with Ohanaeze supporting GEJ since we do not have anybody from the South East contesting for preesidency |
Is that supposed to be a question? |
Dbanj and all these plenty wahala these days |
ActiveMan:Mehn i didnt know it was already here. Sorry about that |
I really wish they investigate this matter properly, it could be for his oga's personal use. Am sure those lawmakers always smoke their brains off before going to the chambers |
Diminutive actors, Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, popularly known as Aki and Paw paw, are renowned for holding on to their bond of friendship with utmost respect. This has not only seen them pairing in countless home videos, but have literally had them living like Siamese twins in the showbiz industry. It is on record that they share the same room during recording trips, the same meals, and even the same jointly-furnished apartment inside the Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSDPC) Estate in Ogba, Lagos. But NFC sources squealed that things are fast changing for the actors as they continue to mature into full adulthood. Contrary to rumours being peddled in town that the duo have been having a row over the MON award conferred on Chinedu Ikedieze (one of the pair) by the President Goodluck Jonathan led government, the duo decided to live apart, owing to Chinedu IKedieze’s fiery urge to settle down with his current girl friend. To this end, Aki as he is fondly called, has moved out of the LSPDC Estate, Ogba for another choice apartment, located within Unity Estate in Ojodu, Lagos, while Osita has also found himself an apartment at the Omole area in Lagos. According to Chinedu Ikedieze, there is no bad blood between him and Osita, contrary to what some sections of the media have been speculating. He told NFC that maturity was responsible for the reason why both of them had to part ways in terms of sharing an apartment. “As we grow and mature, there is no doubt that our priorities will begin to change. And two people do not have the same priorities all the time, so it is just natural that a balance must be struck. “ http:///2010/11/16/aki-and-pawpaw-part-ways-over-secret-marriage-plans-%e2%80%93-debunk-mon-rumours/ |
Quarrels are an integral part of showbiz everywhere in the world. It often begins as a means of protecting interests-business and emotions. For two of Nollywood’s distinguished actresses, Ini Edo and Oge Okoye, Hints Weekly reliably scooped that the two who used to be best of friends are fighting the battles of their lives, unknown to many people. Our source said the problem which has been lingering for a while now started a few years ago and has continued to retrogress, in spite of spirited efforts by a mutual friend of the twosome to resolve the matter. The feud started a few years back when Ini accused Oge Okoye of being behind some of her private issues which found its way into the press. Two particular instances were, the abortion tales as well as the case of a certain US-based business man who was dating Ini, in spite of the fact that his wife was Ini’s friend, which broke in the media sometime ago. “That particular story which found its way into the press was distorted; however Ini had accused Oge Okoye of being behind the rumours at the time. Although Oge vehemently denied it, Ini did not forget that experience. It was at this point that she decided that she would sack her Personal Assistant and move out of her residence at Anthony Village. That was the origin of the bad blood,” the source said. However Oge Okoye’s marriage to Mr. Duru who is based in Holland, availed her the opportunity to level up. She was said to have inflamed the situation by telling some of her close associates that she was keeping to herself because of her new status as a married woman, insinuating that people like Ini Edo who were not married yet, could afford to hobnob as they wished in the social circles. “By then, Ini Edo was yet to marry, and that sent a lot of bad signals in the relationship. At that point jealousy had also crept into their once blossoming friendship, so much that the twosome started keeping each other at arm’s length”, the source added. Hints Weekly however gathered that the peak of the bad blood came when Oge Okoye was excluded from the Globacom Ambassadors’ List, the endorsement deal, which is reputed to have fetched over thirty million naira each for the artistes. According to the source, Oge Okoye, still believes that Ini Edo, may have secretly worked to make sure that she was dropped from the list. “The Globacom Ambassadors’ deal was brokered with the help of Uche Jombo. The arrangement was originally for members of the clique, which includes people like Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo and Uche Jombo. But the company wanted an expanded list which brought in other artistes, however people in Nollywood still believe that they did a lot to discourage the company from signing on certain people. I think that is where the problem between Oge and Ini as regards that deal starts from. She believes that Ini Edo used her connections with Uche to scuttle her chances. But it is only the managers at Globacom that can say what their criteria for picking who the ambassador should be. I guess, the two artistes need to find a common ground to sort out the matter”. |

Since he emerged the winner in the last edition of the Big Brother Africa, BBA All Stars edition, which is the biggest reality TV show in Africa, Nigerian-born Uti Nwachukwu has, at different times, played down on his supposed relationship with another housemate in the BBA house, Kenyan-born Sheila Kwamboka. Although he admitted that he couldn't show his emotions on the screen, he said he liked Sheila, a broadcaster, who was adjudged one of the prettiest girls in the house. However, while he was on a radio programme on Saturday, November 13, Nwachukwu, a singer, model and entertainer, shocked his fans when he said he might propose to Sheila when he sees her. According to him, Sheila and Hannington would be flying into the country for his father's burial later this month. He admitted to being in touch with Sheila, saying, “I just finished talking to her before I entered the studio now.” It will be recalled that Uti said he had no relationship before he went into the House because his ex-girlfriend broke up with him because she was feeling too unsure, despite his reassuring words. The news will, however, interest most of his fans that have been waiting to hear some news about his love life. But since his public declaration, many have been wondering if his family will accept Sheila who, despite her good nature and friendly attitude, is a self-confessed bi-sexual. So, how will Uti's family members accept the beautiful broadcaster? This and many other questions will definitely find answers when Sheila arrives the country and if Uti, like Kevin, also a past winner, will take the bold step to propose to Sheila. |
The personal assistant to a member of the House of Representatives who was arrested on Wednesday with 10 sacks of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp in Edo State said yesterday that he took advantage of his boss’ pilgrimage to engage in the illicit business. The 37-year-old man, Nurudeen Ibrahim who works for Abdulazeez Abubakar, the member representing Mafaranka Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, was arrested by policemen along Auchi-Afuze road with sacks of Indian hemp loaded in the booth of the lawmaker’s official Peugeot 407 car, marked NASS FL 124 REP. Mr. Ibrahim, who was paraded by the Edo State Police Command, told journalists it was the second time he was coming to buy Indian hemp in Edo State, having earlier engaged in the illicit business during the last Muslim holiday. He said his friend introduced him to the business which he took up in order to “make up” and he used his friend’s car to convey the consignment of the weed during the first trip to Edo State. Action to regret Mr. Ibrahim, who claimed to have bought the 10 sacks of cannabis for N50, 000, also informed the police that he has somebody in Abuja who helps him to sell the weed. “This is the biggest regret I ever have in life,” said Mr Ibrahim, who claimed to have worked for Mr Abubakar for three years. He also blamed his ordeal on those who sold the weed to him, alleging that they were the ones who leaked the information to the police. Edo State Police Command spokesman, Peter Ogboi, advised those in authority to open their eyes and monitor the activities of their aides, pointing out that the suspect has taken the advantage of his work with the lawmaker to engage in drug dealing. He said the case would be transferred to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and eventual prosecution. |
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday said it cannot stop sacked Governor of Delta State Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan from participating in the governorship poll rerun. Besides, the commission will not allow the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to field a new candidate for the election. Mr. Kayode Idowu, Chief Press Secretary to INEC chair Attahiru Jega, said there is a Supreme Court judgment to support the commission’s position. Uduaghan was removed from office by the Court of Appeal, Benin Division about two weeks ago. But since his removal, there had been plot by some Delta State elders, led by ex-Minister for Information Chief Edwin Clark to stop Uduaghan from being fielded by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Although the PDP said it is hamstrung by law to change its candidate overnight, the Delta elders are still pressing ahead against Uduaghan. Idowu said: “Anyone who never participated in the cancelled Delta election isn’t likely to be accommodated in the re-run. “INEC cannot stop any candidate who had participated in the cancelled election from being part of the re-run. “The difference between a rerun election and a fresh one is that the former repeats the old process with the involved factors intact, to correct an aspect that has been found faulty by the court. “Whereas, the latter is a fresh process that accommodates new factors, new players.” By the judgment of the Supreme Court in the suit by Labour Party in Adamawa State against INEC, election is a process and if an aspect of that process is voided, that does not invalidate the entire process. “In effect, all other aspects in the Delta election process subsist. That is, the parties which participated in 2007, the candidates.” |
NIGERIA spent N960bn ($6.4bn) on debt servicing between 2008 and 2009, according to the Annual National Debt Sustainability Analysis 2010. The report also said that the borrowing limit for the country had been set at N1.06tn for 2011, following complaints of rising national debt profile. It was prepared by a combined team of the Debt Management Office, Central Bank of Nigeria, National Planning Commission, Budget Office of the Federation and the National Bureau of Statistics. The report said, ”Debt service payments for the year 2009 amounted to $2.34bn as against $4.06bn in 2008, due to the absence of maturing FGN bond obligation in 2009.” This translates into N960bn in the two-year period, using an exchange rate of N150 to the dollar. The DMO had said in September that some of the loans Nigeria was currently repaying were obtained immediately after the nation attained independence in October 1960. The Director-General, DMO, Dr. Abraham Nwankwo, had said that the said loans were obtained by the then central and regional governments. But he did not state the amount that was borrowed by the country between 1965 and 1970, and thereafter. According the the report, ”Of the total debt service, the sum of $1.91bn or 81.67 per cent constituted domestic debt service payments, while the balance of $428m or 18.33 per cent was for external debt service payments in 2008.” It added, ”External debt service payment in 2009 stood at $428.04m, mainly comprising of bilateral debt service of $260.52m or 60.87 per cent. ”The share of the state governments stood at $140.9m or 32.92 per cent of the total external debt service, while the balance of $287.14m or 67.08 per cent represents external debt service payments by the Federal Government.” According to the report, the country’s borrowing limit for 2011 has been set at N639bn from domestic sources and N426bn from foreign sources. It said, ”The maximum government borrowing limit for the year 2011 is N639bn and $2.84bn, to be obtained from domestic and external sources, respectively. ”It is recommended that government financing options should include accessing the international capital market, domestic debt market and private sector investments under the Public- Private Partnership.” It added that the outcome of the Debt Sustainability Analysis exercise suggested the need for sound fiscal management, especially in the light of the likely rise in capital expenditure. This, the report noted, was as a result of envisaged accelerated economic growth and sub-optimal non-oil revenue generation and collection process. |
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday warned that the game was over for kidnappers and criminals who hide under the umbrella of militancy to commit crimes. He said he had given clear orders to the security forces to fish them out and punish them. He however pledged to reform and reintegrate those who bought into the amnesty programme of the Federal Government which he said would be pursued and implemented to the letter and make the rehabilitated reformed militants partners in the rebuilding process of the nation. “Those who continue to hide under acronyms to engage in criminal acts of self-enrichment will no longer find a safe haven anywhere in the Niger Delta as law enforcement agencies have orders to seek them out and bring them to justice,” he said. According to a statement from the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ima Niboro, the president made the statements while commending the Joint (Military) Task Force (JTF) which stormed the stronghold of the militants and freed seven foreign oil workers and 12 kidnapped Nigerians. Jonathan commended the professional manner in which the operation was carried out without bloodshed and “unnecessary” loss of lives. “While the Federal Govern-ment will continue to take all necessary steps to guarantee the safety of lives and property, as well as the security of oil workers and installations in the Niger Delta, President Jonathan assures all law abiding citizens that they have nothing to fear. “Government will continue to pursue its programmes for the re-orientation, rehabilitation and reintegration of all genuine militants who laid down their arms under its amnesty programme with a view to making them partners and stakeholders in the well-being and progress of the Niger Delta and Nigeria,” he said. There had been simultaneous operations by security forces in the country to curb the resurging militant activities in the Niger Delta which culminated in the breaking of pipelines and other criminal activities that the government has risen up to curb. In the meantime, the JTF continued it raids on militant camps, shutting down 14 at different locations across the creeks of the region. Also, six militants were arrested and over 30,000 rounds of ammunition were recovered during the raids in Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta States. Disclosing this to the media in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, the Commander of the JTF, Maj. Gen. Charles Omoregie, said eight of the active or dormant camps closed down were in Bayelsa State and were located in Ezetu 1, 2, 3, Ekene, Polama, Foropa and Igbokiri in Southern Ijaw and Nembe Local Government areas of the state. In Delta and Rivers States, four camps were shut down while the whereabouts of Commander John Togo are yet to be ascertained. Items recovered in the Rivers State raid included anti-aircraft gun, rocket-propelled grenades, five machine guns and 30,000 rounds of ammunition. Also, six of the suspects who allegedly took part in the bombing of the Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) pipeline two weeks ago have been arrested. Omoregie said the raid was aimed at ridding the region of criminals. The foreign oil workers among 19 hostages freed by Nigeria's military described as "shocking" their ordeal yesterday, while military authorities said no ransom was paid and vowed to wipe out militant camps. THISDAY had broken the story of the release of 19 hostages yesterday in an operation on Wednesday. Reuters reported that a Canadian hostage nursing a gunshot wound to his foot, which he said resulted from a ricocheted bullet, said the men saved rainwater for washing and drinking. "It's a shocking experience and I wouldn't want anybody to ever go through such a thing," said Robert Croke, who was abducted in a raid on a support vessel and Transocean-owned oil rig last week. James Robertson, an American oil worker, taken in the same raid as Croke in the early hours of November 8, said the crisis was "like being in a prison". A Nigerian military official said no ransom was paid for the release of the 19 hostages, who were believed to have been abducted in three separate incidents. A number of militant camps had been "taken over" by the military in recent days, he said. "These gentlemen were recovered from Obese Camp in Rivers State," said Major General Omoregie, referring to a camp said to be named after a militant leader. "Not a dime was paid for the release of these gentlemen. It was a sustained raid. We don't go into negotiations," he said. According to him, there were no casualties, adding that the military operation would continue "for as long as it will take to uproot these criminals from the Niger Delta". MEND had claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of 14 the hostages. |
Dr. Amos Adamu’s long and controversial reign on the Nigerian, African and world football stage appeared to be coming to an end yesterday when world football’s governing body FIFA banned him from all football related matters for the next three years. It was the outcome of its investigation into a sting operation conducted by a British newspaper, which accused him of soliciting for bribes in return for his vote. In addition to the three-year ban, Adamu was also fined 10,000 Swiss francs. Hot on the heels of FIFA’s announcement, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] said yesterday that Adamu would be interrogated by it on the allegations of vote selling in the 2018 World Cup hosting bid. The FIFA Ethics Committee headed by Claudio Sulser announced its verdict in Zurich, Switzerland yesterday after a month-long in-depth investigation into the 2018 and 2022 World Cup bidding process. Apart from Adamu, five other FIFA executive members received punishments for their complicity in various corruption allegations. Among them is FIFA Vice-President Reynald Temarii, who was banned for one year and fined 5,000 Swiss francs. Temarii is from Tahiti and represents the Oceania Confederation on the world soccer body. Chairman of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber and member of the FIFA Players’ Status Committee Slim Aloulu from Tunisia was also banned for two years. Additionally, he was fined 10,000 Swiss francs and would not take part in football administrative or sports activities at national and international levels. Alhongalu Fusimalohi, the General Secretary of the Tonga FA, was also axed for three years and fined 10,000 Swiss francs. Mali’s Amadou Diakite, a member of the FIFA Referees Committee, was banned from football matters for three years and fined 10,000 Swiss francs. CAF Honorary Member Ismael Bhamjee was banned for four years and fined 10,000 Swiss francs. Prior to yesterday’s handing down of the ruling, Adamu was provisionally suspended last month pending full investigations into allegations that he demanded bribe from reporters from the British newspaper The Sunday Times. The reporters had posed as businessmen representing a consortium of American firms that were promoting the U.S.’s bid for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup tournaments. The vote for the hosting rights of both championships will be held on December 2 by the powerful 24-man FIFA Executive Committee. FIFA President Joseph Blatter said yesterday that the vote would still go ahead in spite of the probe. Only 22 members would now take part in the Dec. 2 vote following the ban of Adamu and Temarii. Adamu had allegedly demanded for 800,000 dollars in return for his vote, which he said should be paid into his personal account, to be used for the construction of four artificial pitches in Nigeria. However, Adamu indicated yesterday that he would appeal against the verdict of the Ethics Committee, according to a statement he released to Press Association Sports. He expressed disappointment with the findings of the committee, saying, ``I am innocent of all the charges leveled against me by the Ethics Committee and I completely refute the decision they have made. He added, ``As yet I have not been advised of the grounds of the Ethics Committee’s decision but regardless, I will be lodging a full appeal against it with immediate effect.’’ Announcing EFCC’s moves against Adamu, the commission’s spokesman Femi Babafemi said operatives handling the case would extend a formal invitation to the suspended football chieftain, who was also slammed a 10,000 Swiss franc fine as punishment for breaching the world football governing body’s rules. The Nigerian anti-graft agency said it viewed the outcome of FIFA’s probe as a welcome development and would liaise with the Committee to get the full report. “The chairman has directed our team of operatives handling the case to liaise with FIFA to get their full report on the case as well as extend a formal letter of invitation to Amos Adamu,” Babafemi said. |

Odunnu:Good to know that, those are some of the qualities that not only make you a nice woman but keep you healthy oyb:I am not a party to Religion bigotry, Nigeria's problem is not North vs South nor Christian vs Muslim, rather its the Elites Vs Common man. A common man in the North is complaining about the samething as the one in the South which ranges from no food, no education, water, good road, electricity et al. So what am saying in a nutshell, is that the Elites do not care about the common man in the street be him a muslim or a Christian. Until we have a change of mentality and have people that truly love Nigeria the trend must persist. |
