Yeah, im the ZOO. Do you think that American are as foolish as you are in the ZOO. Another thing we learnt is that the celebrities saw the calamitous Tinubu more than others but some fools in the ZOO couldn't see that. What's happening after the warnings of those celebrities? Americans will learn from that as well.

If you think Americans are wiser than you, who am I to argue that with you? Bask in your sub-mentality all day long, my good sir.

No sane person is fooled by the 2023 Nigerian dubious (s)election where Tinubu was fraudulently announced by Yakubu and INEC. Truth is Tinubu continues to be illegitimate, unpopular and lacks the support in every of his policies because a greater percent of the Nigerian population never voted for him.
Ok.

Yes, celebrity endorsements don't win elections but no, most of her fans are not under voting age. Only someone who thinks Taylor swift blew up last year would say such.
If most of her fans are under 18, who then were her fans in 2016? Under 12 year olds? πŸ˜‚
Even her 12 old fans(if there was anything like that) in 2016 are eligible to vote now.

You may have a point. But are you also considering the fact that her 200+ million fans aren't all Americans?
Well, we'll start seeing how her influence plays out, or not, in the next couple of days.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Trump Says Taylor Swift Will Pay A Price For Endorsing Kamala Harris by Hillarie(m): 5:52pm On Sep 11
Her endorsement might not really mean much. A very large percentage of her followers are under the voting age. Besides, if there is anything we learnt from the 2023 elections, it is the fact that celebrities' endorsements don't guarantee election victory. Politics no be Hollywood and Pop music game.

Crime / Re: How Adeleye Ayomide Murdered Idowu Christianah & Buried Her by Hillarie(m): 10:49am On Sep 05
This is heartbreaking. I'm trying to imagine the mental state of the parents after learning that their own son is a mindless serial murderer.
Then there are the victim's parents too. There is no way on earth that they'll ever forgive this bastard lowlife.

And religious folks will say someone like this will make heaven when he repents. If that is true, I don't want to be in that kind of heaven. Tueh!

Sometimes, I wish some of these savage, corporal punisments can be reserved for scums like this. Omo, this news just ruined my day.

OP, so sorry that you lost the job after putting in so much work. I'm particularly drawn to your story because we're almost in the same boat. Except I'm 8months into my M.A. programme and have lost all the will to grind for remote hustle. These days, I just find local gigs I can work on so as to survive and see my programme to the end.
Don't beat yourself up too much, you'll get it right some day. Cheers!

Education / Re: English Gurus Pls What Is The Answer To This ?? by Hillarie(m): 6:42am On May 03
triplechoice:

My dear ,each of the constituent parts of the sentence have their function . If you know what they're ,you won't argue this with me.

The adverbial clause, "because she was drunk" is performing the function of an adverb, and adverbs can only modify verbs, adjectives, and another adverb, not nouns.

The clause is modifying the action, "beats up" and not describing the daughter as drunk.
Please read up grammatical function to understand this better.

"A father beat up his daughter because he was drunk " ,is the same kind of sentence.

You cannot argue in the above that it's the daughter that was drunk.

First off, I'm not arguing with you. I'm only trying to share knowledge with you regarding this.
Adverbs and adverbials modify verbs, correct. "Because she was drunk" in that sentence modifies the verb phrase "beats up" but it doesn't in anyway clarify the antecedent of "she".
Also, "A father beat up his daughter because he was drunk " isn't the same kind of sentence because we know the pronoun "he" is clearly masculine and refers to the father and not the daughter here. However, "A father beat up his son because he was drunk" is more like it. It presents us with the case of ambiguity too.

Meanwhile, consider this:
The woman swept the room because it was dirty.

Using your logic on this statement above, you're saying that "Because it was dirty" here modifies the verb "swept" which is, of course, correct. But does the "it" refer to "the woman"? Can you see that your explanation is completely flawed now? That statement by OP is a case of ambiguity. The speaker needs to either reframe the statement or add more information to disambiguate it.

It's the mother who was drunk, not the daughter.

The adverbial clause of reason, "because she was drunk" functions to modify the phrasal verb, "beats up" in the main clause, "A mother beats up her daughter" to tell us the reason for the action of beating up.

"because she was drunk" is modifying the phrasal verb, "beats up", and not describing the daughter as drunk.

If the daughter is the drunk, then the correct sentence will be,

A mother beats up her daughter who was drunk.

No, sir. Semantics doesn't work that way. It's an ambiguous sentence. That is to say that it can mean different things.
While you're very correct about the adverbial clause modifying the verbal phrase "beat up", (even though it was erroneously written as "beats up" ) it still doesn't explain whether it's the mother who was drunk or the daughter. Read up on ambiguity in language.
Education / Re: English Gurus Pls What Is The Answer To This ?? by Hillarie(m): 4:23pm On May 02
kings59:
A mother is the subject, her daughter is the object, because = is the emphasis, she was drunk was the reason for the action.

Her daughter was drunk.

He threw the fruit away because it was bad.

Well, while it is a cohesive and coherent sentence, this is a case of ambiguity. Unless the speaker gives further information, it is hard to tell whether it is the mother or the daughter that was drunk.

Which self control? Black women do it but very discreetly. It is very rampant here in Nigeria especially by all these feminists. They even abuse male infants. Sometimes you see ladies carrying the male toddlers of their neighbors and friends buying them biscuits and nutrimilk drink and you will think it's nothing but if you get to see what they do to these boys in the privacy of their rooms, you will stone them!

The reason why we don't catch them is because the anatomy of males is not like females that get bruised when abused sexually.

Jeez, that's crazy.
