It is my IELTS success story! I have earlier booked this Part 9 for my IELTS, ECA and ITA successes. ITA is seeming far-fetched now though while the others are feasible. The high CRS needed for ITA nowadays suggests that a 3rd year experience which will push my tentative 456 to 481 is necessary. This is my first and last IELTS GT attempt. I checked the result an hour ago and it was LRWS: 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7.5 with Overall Band of 8. I can't thank God enough especially as I was really worried with my Listening Test. I wasn't 100% certain of 7 of them as some answers came in too fast and I also lost track of about 3 questions in the Section 3 where you fill in one word only and for these questions I changed my earlier inputs and replaced with what I felt were the answers. My heart is at rest now. I'm so happy that my CLB 10 targets in all abilities were met as I was able to get all the minimums required. For those still in search of an IELTS breakthrough, just prepare adequately and I tell you, it will end in praise. Praise Jah! |
opeoyek:A great thanks Opeoyek. I really do appreciate your response. |
yemblaze:Thanks a lot Yemblaze. I was able to get there and in time. I needed to check out the route and be certain of its location before my test day inorder to organize my movement properly when the day comes, and this direction came in real handy. |
A new part it is! Started following this thread since Part 7. Most of the participants then have gotten their PPRs or about getting theirs soonest. I started preparing for my IELTS and began the processing of my ECA in Part 8. Even as my getting PPR is practically unlikely in this part 9 except this Part threads slowly (but with the anticipated inrush of PPR stories, this is at best unlikely), I am booking this Part for my IELTS success story, ECA Report, my ITA and subsequent AOR. One thing that I am certain of is that this Part will be flooded with one success story or the other. We all should have our hopes high, ensure we take care of all that are required of us and continue researching and helping each other. |
sammirano:You should try sending them an email at info@ielts.ng. They may not reply on time but attempt to disturb them every other day and they will get to reply and perhaps fix it. |
As part of PEBC's document evaluation, I am meant to submit 2 passport-acceptable photographs. I intend getting these today. When I made an enquiry then, I was told I will be getting a soft copy alongside 4 physical copies. The question I have is can I get the other 2 passports now and use them for PPR later on? I have been trying to check for the oldest period they are meant to have been taken, if it is within the last 6 months or within the last 1 year (the passports for the PEBC's is actually within 1 year), but have been coming across conflicting answers. Or should I just take the 2 copies and later on go for the other 2 months later when I hopefully get PPR? |
Please, who would be kind enough to help tutor me in listening and reading? I keep getting 29-33 in listening and 29-31 in reading. I am based in Abuja. You must have noticed the areas you usually fail. Using myself as an example, initially in my Reading practice, the T/F/NG section usually have me failing most of the questions, so I read up on it. I used ieltsadvantage, a website and I don't fail it that much again. For the matching and MCQs, I ensure I read the question carefully even as I am reading it quickly. Answering these questions in a haste might lead you into picking the wrong answers. To create more time for them, I answer the questions where you have to complete the sentence or fill in words as they are faster to do. For the Listening, 100% concentration cannot be overemphasized. You have to be focused all through as a fleeting of your mind for some seconds can lead you into losing up to 3 answers and it is advisable to concentrate on the next questions if you find yourself losing track of the recording. You can always come back to guess them rather than leaving them blank. Listening, without losing track of the lectures or conversations should give you a good mark, provided your answers are correctly spelt and grammatically-correct. Personally, I observe issues with the maps and still working on it. For the maps, it is essential one goes through the map thoroughly, knowing where each place is on the map and also knowing where the starting point or entrance is. I do find myself searching for places in the map as they are being mentioned and I lose track, so I am still practicing on this. As always, you are to check out for areas that you are weak in and work on them. And it is also noteworthy that in the Listening test, not only our listening skills are tested, our vocabulary is also tested. There may be paraphrasing or making use of synonyms, as exact words in the questions may not be used. And this one also, distractors. Watch out for distractors. Don't just put down the first name, or number you hear. Make sure it is the right one. There are times the speaker changes his/her mind or corrects him/herself. You should also endeavour to not just only practise but read up on or watch IELTS-related materials. I wish you good luck and success as I wish myself also. P.S: I was trying to reply to the request on the 1st paragraph. I am not certain I did it right. |
I have a question. For one who is relying on a gift deed for POF. After receiving the money, does he have to invest in a Treasury Bill or Mutual Funds or Fixed Deposit before he can use it as POF? If the answer is "Yes" does it have to be the full amount or just a part of it? |
