Andyphief: Hello everyone, I have a question, am currently studying Chemical Engineering, in my 400 level right now..and I see this has a great time to start planning for the future, cos in two years I would be done (just got into 400).. one of my future plan is to get a MSc and I don't plan to get it in Nigeria. The way a MSc program is run in my school (unilag) isn't what I expect to be..I don't have to go too far on this, everyone should understand.. so I have my eyes abroad, I would really love to study in Canada/US ...now to my question: I have a relative in Canada and another relative in the US...I want to know..if I ask any of them for an Invitation to come over..I know I will require a visitation visa..can I get a temporary permit and also a working permit even if I will enter any of these country with a visitors permit.. I know I will be advised to enter with a student visa ..that's by applying from here(Nigeria), but if am being honest I don't have the means to pay for the total cost it will involve. From the fees to the amount you'd need to have in your account has proof..to all other paper work.. I see it has easy to enter using a visiting visa..then working over there before actually applying to study..heck I might even start over get a BSc over there. So I need someone to put me through or advice me ..Sir's and ma's your plight is well understood. Since you are in 400 level ,why don't you strive to look for a grant or professpr who will be willing to work with you on your Masters in Canada, read osemigho posts on the Canadian travel visa thread. |

bulalakoboko: My question may sound silly, please pardon me. I am 35 years old with two children. I had worked as a chemistry teacher for 5 years and presently driving forklift. I am a graduate of Biochemistry. I just need little advice on the way to go. This are the lines have recorded so far from this thread 1. Write IELTS 2. Evaluate documents with WES I do not know if I am right. As a teacher or forklift operator how do I start this journey? Thank you very much for your time. I feel led to assist you in this new year. Obviously you have read a bit. As it stands the things you have mentioned up there are the first things to do. But before you do that, I don't think your forklift skill falls under the acceptable skills for EE,it should fall under NOC C ,so I suggest u research your teaching experience. This is the time to explore IRCC's website and see where your teaching skills can carry you and who knows , it might just be that that is all the experience u need. Please confirm the following; 1.are you married? 2. Is she younger than you are? 3. Does she have a degree or a masters? 4. Do you or her understand French very well?? I await your response to enable the house further advise you |

Hello people, i have this question bothering me, I have had almost 10 years work experience in a Pension Fund Administrator in Nigeria as a benefit processing staff. My question is can anyone advise on how to transfer this skill to canada. In other words, can I work in Canada directly with this experience or will i need to write a professional exam or certification? |

ademo1: Good day to you all. I have been calculating my point using crs calculator but my age is 35 years which cuts down my point drastically. My question is; can I cut down my age to 31 years without being noticed athat all so that I can claim additional 25 points on the age? Please gurus, I need answer because I have tried my best on ielts but seems I am limited to average of LWSR 6.5, 7, 8, 8. The listening is very difficult for me. I hope u understand my plight. Please, the question is on the age which I will reflect it on my international passport. I will appreciate it if I can get answer Hi Ademo, here we do not encourage cutting corners. But i will encourage you to try ielts again, this time with adequate preparation. I am sure you will scale through then pray that the scores will fall. having said that, use the time to prepare your POF, that is another headache on its own. I understand your plight, but my brother.....patience is a virtue in this journey! |

Thanks a lot @justwise and 40manlappy and everyone who contributes in one way or the other, God bless you guys tremendously for your commitments.
I am trying to evaluate with WES, i can see on my profile that i am meant to include the secondary education?, has anyone done this as i am confused. I thought all we needed to do was send/include the highest qualification earned so far.
or do i just ignore and send the highest qualification earned so far? |

threadstone: In my own case, i requested for masters evaluation from wes, school sent both bsc and masters transcripts. Wes sends verification mail and after veryfying the masters cert and transcripts, they asked for a new verification for bsc transcript and all the calls mails faxes and tweets couldnt get them to change their mind, until i had to go back and sort out the verification process. Ended up losing like three freaking weeks on this back and forth issue, hence my advice above. Learn from my mistakes. I will keep this in mind ,although spouse is already in the pool and awaiting ITA. Just looking to max out our scores. |

threadstone: If the school is where you did your ond, they most certainly will send both transcripts. It will be better for you to send in your ond certificate to wes as well as your hnd cert too before the transcripts gets there.
May you share the reason why youre evaluating hnd alone? no am just asking if the school will use their discretion to send both transcripts. Yes its same school |

Guys, in evaluating HND with WES, is the school required to send transcripts for only HND or must the OND transcripts be included? |

I would have loved to screen shots messages but it is unethical and a violation of their privacy. Some of them are here too and some are still in denial that thorough review is being carried out on their application. OK then |
