I am a bit worried pls.

I am in early 30s and same as my hubby, however none of us has Masters, only Bsc. He is requesting I be the primary applicant.I have 5 years experience in banking. Please do you think We have opportunity of achieving the required points. I have noticed most people here has Masters ,so am a bit discouraged that since none of us has masters and not really in late 20s , that we may build points.

Pls advise me.

Thank you.
welcome! You have found the right place. First off, take every worry off your mind and read page 0.

Start from where you are. Just a matter to time and you will soon realise that there WAS nothing to worry about in the first place.

Guys, the next draw may not be the lowest, I am also not so happy about that.
Going by the average number of ITAs issued in recent times, which is 2757 the scores may not go lower that 430s for a while .As at today, there are already 2768 eligible profiles in the pool who are in between the scores of 431 and 1200. Don’t forget that more people go into the pool everyday.

My advise is continue to look at ways to improve your score in the pool

Thanks bros, it is possible it might get lower to 413 early next year?
No one here can determine what the exact cut off will be. However, CIC has surprised us this year as we have seen cut offs from as low as 413 to 700 or so.

I will advise that you continue to seek ways to increase your score if you are still in the pool.

Maybe, a Better Ielts score, or evaluating any additional degree you may have acquired.

Lastly, if you are in a hurry to enter the pool, use ICES for your evaluation.Goodluck

Hello .
@ Zandora , Irondome, JesusDWay and the house.

I would like to have the opinion of the house. My NOC is on the “In Demand Occupation” list for Nova Scotia . I’m yet to have an EE profile because I want to re write IELTs to push my CRS score to 410 . A CRS score of 410 could fetch an Ontario nomination. Also awaiting WES evaluation report.
My questions are;1:At the point of registering to to the EE pool can I pick the two provinces? Nova Scotia and Ontario?
2. I don’t know when the next Nova Scotia SKill B nomination will open, would picking Ontario affect my chances of getting a nomination negatively?

Thank you.

when creating your profile, you have the option of choosing all the provinces you will like to live in. So don't bother yourself ,there's no negative effect.

Work reference is giving me sleepless night..... 40 days more before I submit.

Imagine the employer telling me they don't give ref letter to ex employee..... And they can't even give me a letter or email saying they can't give ref letter.

Please what's the content of a ref letter a colleague can give someone? Is it the same format as the company's own?
please don't sweat it, write the reference letter ,have your boss or supervisor sign it,notarize the document . lastly submit it alongside the bank statements for the period you worked. Case solved

Let me add my 2 kobo.
Does the engine crank?? If yes, why don't you check If power is getting to your spark plugs from the power relay.

If there's power getting to the spark plugs, then we may begin to look at other components, for a car to start, you need air, fuel and power from your battery at the least.

Don't be quick to remove or change anything, if you do this, you will get fleeced.

Just to add, hope you did not just acquire the car, it may have some sort of security too.

If all this fails then have the car scanned.

I used ICES too and got my eca in 3 weeks. Was stuck with iqas like forever. It took them 5 weeks to acknowledge my transcript reciept after courier delivery confirmation, then i had to wait another 9-10weeks for the eca proper.
I canceled and reinitiated with ices, thanks to @folar . eca came through after 3 weeks. Am already in the pool with crs 441, meanwhile my eca with iqas expected to be ready around 2nd week in November.
I paid with a dollar debit card for the ices application .
did your school email your transcript to them? Or did they send hardcopy?

The PA MUST have ECA for you guys to have ITA. On the accompanying spouse having ECA afterwards, there is no impact at all as long as the total CRS has landed you an ITA

Although, depending on your age and other factors coupled with the current CRS cut off hanging around 43..... ,its advisable that both spouses get their ECAs

Will editing EE profile, post ITA to reflect ECA completion date gotten post ITA impact in any way?
yes as long as the funds is from an account that your and your spouse jointly own and not a 3rd party.

2. I believe your ECA completion post ITA will not have any impact. I take it that the PA in your case already has ECA Pre-ITA

Business / Re: Eight Ways To Improve Your Chance Of Becoming Wealthy In Life by hiscules: 4:29pm On Oct 06, 2017
GentleNaaz:
EIGHT THINGS YOU NEED TO DO TO BE WEALTHY

1. Wake up early.

Avoid spending a whole lot of the night sleeping. Wake up early to plan for the day. You don't hear of successful men who sleep a lot, if they did sleep so much, they won't be successful.

2. Set goals

As you have short-term goals you want to achieve in a short time, make sure you also set long-term goals for yourself. Setting goals gives you a target you want to meet and it also keeps you focused.

3. Read

Many successful men are readers. Instead of buying things that don't have value, buy at least a motivational book or a book on finance and money every month. Sharpen your mental skills. It helps in personal development.

4. Spend within your income

If you can't afford some things, make do with what you have, you won't die if you don't have them. So try to spend within your means.

5. Save to invest

Learn how to save out of your income. No matter how small your income is, you should try to save a part of it. Don't spend and then save what is left. Save and spend what is left. As you save, invest wisely. Don't save to save. Save to invest.

6. Avoid debts

Make sure you avoid debts. If you are not taking a loan for a business or a reasonable project, don't take a loan. The thing about debt is that when you clear your debt, you still end up needing more money because you don't have enough anymore, then you need to borrow again. Which means you still end up being in debt. So avoid it like a plague.

7. Spend less time in front of a screen

Stop wasting a lot of precious time you can invest in front of a screen. If you are not on television to look for vital information, online surfing to get useful information or your work entails you to do so and you are only in front of a television screen, computer or phone screen whiling away time, doing nothing but feeding your eyes with useless information, you need to quit.

8. Have at least two major sources of income

Keep investing until you have at least two major sources of income, with, perhaps, two other minor sources. Don't rely on income from your salary. Tell me of any wealthy man, and I will show you at least his two major sources of income.

9. Pay your tithe

I still think she can be the better applicant. She can claim two or more certificates. For work experience she can maybe add NYSC. Do nurses do NYSC in Nigeria?

Anyway if she and hubby do ECA & IELTS with her being PA, they get circa 438. She'll get mad points for age than he will get for work experience. Except maybe when Skill transferability applies

@ Lizme21
seconded, but you have to plan to acquire another 6 months of working to be eligible, you can use that time in preparing for ielts, ECA and then cross your Is and Ts...you will be fine

@dupyshoo has shed more light on the matter "combining more than one NOC to get max points for 3years" with this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/express-entry.asp I know we all have our opinion but would implore us to read this few lines from the link and share ideas to put this matter to bed ones and for all.

Please take note of the bolded in the article.

Foreign work experience

25 (1) For the purposes of sections 23 and 24, foreign work experience is work experience that

(a) is acquired by a foreign national outside Canada in one or more occupations listed in Skill Type 0 Management Occupations or Skill Level A or B of the National Occupational Classification matrix;
(b) consists of full-time work experience, or the full-time equivalent for part-time work experience, with one or more employers;
(c) is acquired within the 10-year period preceding the day on which points are assigned to the foreign national under section 23 or subsection 24(1); and
(d) is remunerated by the payment of wages or a commission.

Requirements

(2) In order to be assigned points under section 23 or 24 for their foreign work experience, a foreign national

(a) must specify in their expression of interest the four-digit code in the National Occupational Classification that corresponds to each of the occupations they have engaged in while accumulating their foreign work experience[/i]; and
(b) must have performed the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation as set out in the occupational descriptions of the National Occupational Classification, as well as a substantial number of the main duties, including all essential duties, as set out in the National Occupational Classification.

Thank you guys, This sounds like it, but then a tweet to IRCC for a direct response on combining NOCs reveals that it can only qualify for maximum points if its all in one NOC which is somewhat contradictory to what was posted above.

Maybe we should Carry out a poll, what do u guys think?

Click "like" if you combined NOCs to get maximum 3years points and click "share" if you used just one NOC to claim the 3 years maximum points.

Note: By "combined NOC" I mean for instance you worked in customer service(1yr) and later in IT (2yrs) and you were able to claim points for the full 3 years.

Hi , The way i see it, its impossible to be eligible if you do not even have the minimum required 1 year working experience. the bolded further strengthens the fact that the job function must be in the same NOC.

dannio:

Let me break it down like this
For the six selection factors which has the popular theme 67/100 you can say you have over 1,2,3,4,5....up to 10,11 and more experience this will aid in you meeting the 67/100 minimum score

For the CRS this is where you are asked if you have 3 or more years of experience in same NOC is stressed.

Note:this is from my experience others can shed more light

You should be fine to claim three years. What would ur primary NOC be here?
Hi, I don't want to be the clog in your wheel but I know that except that you are claiming points for only job B alone, your job A will not count
towards your CRS. CIC has said " all jobs for CRS must be in the same NOC" .if in doubt check a few pages back and you will understand more.

But then again, people here claim that they have combined NOCs before and it worked.

At the end, I have discovered that this PPR journey is not one size fits all...all the best with your choice.

Although that I got away with that doesn't mean everyone will but I chose not to worry about it because I am not claiming points for spouse' job function, other detail on the certificate are consistent, and the certificate is a proof of marital status not proof of work experience.

If he/she is the principal applicant, post have been made here about using LOE to explain the inconsistency.

Hello House,
I have 2 clarifications to make:

1. To make up for POF, in the letter from the PFA stating that one can access 25% of funds, does the PFA need to attach the statement of the pension funds? Or will just the letter suffice?

2. Is there a way one can correct the occupation written on the marriage certificate? My spouse's occupation on our marriage certificate is inconsistent with the job being done. Note that CIC has the information of work from previous application, although the marriage certificate has never been presented.

Valid. Just the NOC work history you are claiming points for. Everything you do in PRE-ITA, the work reference field will be waiting for you during e-APR. So all other work history goes under "personal history".

Thanks @ 40manlapppy and folamingo
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by hiscules: 6:40pm On Oct 01, 2017
folamingo:
I assume its PRE-ITA profile. If you say "YES" and you get the ITA, you will need to provide work reference. Kindly note that it was stated there in the details if your read it properly.

To avoid that click on "NO", then when you get ITA, you put the work history in the "Personal history" field made available for your spouse during your e-APR.

Since your spouse is not claiming any points for work experience except he/she has canadian work experience.

Thank you folamingo, i appreciate

You can select "NO" and later provide the employment information in the personal history section of the e-APR. That way, you won't have to provide work references for your spouse.
Thank you for the clarification.

I require another clarification, on my profile ,i provided only the work history for which i want to claim points and left out all my other work experiences, does this make sense or am i expected to include all of my work history on the profile?
