Nigerian ativist Adetoun Onajobi claims that the late singer, Mohbad, sought her assistance from beyond the grave.

Mohbad, who passed away on September 12, has become the center of controversies surrounding the circumstances of his death.

Onajobi shared details of her alleged encounter with Mohbad in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo. According to her, Mohbad’s spirit was restless and unable to find peace, expressing a desire to find solace.

During the interview, Onajobi disclosed, “Mohbad told me that he lost track in life, chasing what he never needed. The problem now is that he cannot go to heaven, and he cannot rest; he is just like a whirlwind everywhere.”

She further claimed that Mohbad revealed aspects of his life that contributed to his untimely demise. Despite her attempts to address the issues, Onajobi faced accusations of seeking attention.

The activist emphasized that Mohbad’s plea was more of a spiritual nature, leading her to embark on a journey to five different mountains in an attempt to resolve the issues.

A young Nigerian man narrates the tough decision of calling off his relationship with his fiancee after she made a hurtful statement to him about his inability to buy her a wig.

A social media user identified as I am Ekene took to social media to narrate the tale of his past relationship with an ex-fiancee.
According to the young man, his fiancee had pleaded with him to buy a particular wig for her but due to financial constraints, he couldn’t afford it.

His fiancee, however, made a statement in an attempt to guilt trip him into buying the wig, he immediately severed their relationship.

His post;

A woman I was dating and engaged asked me to purchase a wig for her.
I told her I didn’t have the resources for it at the moment.

She looked me in the eye with bitterness and told me as long as I kept “maltreating” her by denying her wants, God will keep doing same to me.

I stood up from the bed at that moment, had my bath and went to work.

I spent the whole day in introspection.
I projected 10 years into the future and I didn’t see any scenario I was going to have a supportive human as a wife or be really happy if I didn’t constantly renew my subscription with her.

I had to let her go for good. It was an extremely though decision as we had gone really far with preps to spending together for a lifetime but I knew that lifetime will be hell if I eventually sealed it.

Kate Henshaw, the Nollywood veteran actress, has spoken up about her relationship with colleague, Genevieve Nnaji.

In an interview with media personality Chude, Kate was quizzed about the status of her longstanding friendship with Genevieve.

Kate Henshaw revealed in her response that she and Genevieve have had small disagreements in previous years.

She, however, expressed her concerns about Genevieve’s tendency to pull away from her and their colleagues.

Kate concluded by saying she respected Genevieve and her choices, likening her to American actress Angelina Jolie.

“Emeka Ike’s ex-wife lied” CIG President Felix Duke says as he slams actress Shan George for supporting the actor’s ex wife

Felix Duke, the President of Creative Industry Group (CIG), has revealed that Emeka Ike knelt down in court to beg his ex-wife, Suzanne Emma, not to divorce him.

Duke disclosed this while reacting to the recent drama surrounding the Nollywood actor’s crashed marriage.

He said he was involved in efforts to settle the marital crisis from the beginning, as Emeka had been his close friend before he got married.

Duke said he fixed up an appointment with the former couple before they went to court. The former couple met him in a hotel at Ogudu in Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos State.

Duke said Suzanne Emma acted like everything was okay, but after she left, she went back into crisis with Emeka.

He pointed out that all his efforts to settle them didn’t work because Emma refused to accept his pleas, because she had made up her mind to leave the marriage for the reasons best known to her.

According to Duke, “When Emma took Emeka to court, I was there. I went to court with Emeka.

“Emeka truly loved this woman but I believe she never loved him the way he loved her. From day one before Emeka met Emma, I have been friends with him.

“When he met Emma, he called me and told me, that it was so many years ago. He said there is this girl I met and I would want you to meet her and he brought Emma and introduced her to me. I was at their marriage when they had Micheal (first child), I was at the naming, Emeka was also at my marriage so many years ago. So we have been friends.

“I can tell you what Emeka went through. He was depressed after Emma left him, crying every day. I pet him and sometimes weep with him when he is crying.

“We kept praying together and I told him one day you will find love and he asked me: are you sure I will ever find love and I assured him he would.

“I followed Emeka to court and the judge told two of them to go outside the courtroom and talk and see if they can reconcile, but if they can’t, then they come back in, and he declared his judgment.

“When the judge told them that; myself, Emeka Ike and his wife, went out, and Emeka knelt down right in my presence to beg Emma, I even joined Emeka to beg her, but she refused.”

Duke said that whatever Emeka had said, was the truth as he witnessed everything. He said that Emeka lost his established school, properties, and had to start his life from scratch to rise again.

“Emma abandoned the school to run down because she was already out of the marriage. Emeka did not know that she was out of the marriage. Emeka still thought that he had a wife in Emma,” he said.



On Emeka’s first son Michael, Duke expressed displeasure over his involvement in the case between his father and mother.



Duke said: “He will go on social media to insult his father. Tomorrow he will go and beg his father. How is he going to erase all the nonsense he already said on social media?

“He expects his father to forgive him and take him back after all these? His mother pushed him to go and say rubbish against his father. This is to show that Emma isn’t a good woman. Who will want to do this to her son?”



Duke also called out actress, Shan George for supporting Emma. Duke said that while the crisis lasted, people like her never tried to settle the matter.



He said: “Has she visited Emeka Ike and his wife in their home at Magodo or did she ever visit their school? How did she know that Emma did not do anything wrong to Emeka?

“How can one person that doesn’t know anything about this whole saga, just wake up and begin to talk, because she wants to trend?”

A Catholic priest who sat for an interview on CNN on Christmas day, claimed that Jesus was a persecuted Palestinian and that the story of his birth contains parallels to what’s going on in the Middle East.

Father Edward Beck, a regular contributor, joined Monday morning’s anchors to discuss the topic of how to keep faith alive this holiday season with everything going on in the world, namely, the war between Israel and Hamas, with Palestinians caught in the middle.

He claimed that the story of Christmas was actually one of a “Palestinian Jew”, noting how extraordinary it is to hear those two words put together. Father Beck went on to say Jesus was born into an occupied country, and that his mother and father (Mary/Joseph) were forced to flee into Egypt as refugees which is technically correct, as far as the Bible’s concerned.

Beck went on to say the same sort of thing is going on right now in 2023, and while he didn’t outrightly come out as explicitly pro-Palestine, that was how his remarks were perceived.

Father Beck has defended what he said in some back-and-forths online. Again, some took his words here to imply that Jesus was more so Palestinian/Arab than he was Jewish, but Beck says his words are being twisted, and his larger message of peace/unity overshadowed.

He’s also posted articles that reference the use of the word “Palestinian” historically and how it’s apparently been employed to identify Muslims, Jews and others who’ve lived in that region dating back millennia.

A revelation by the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has shown that 53,836 inmates in the 253 correctional centres across the country were awaiting trial as of December 18.

The spokesperson for the service, Assistant Controller of Corrections (ACC) Abubakar Umar disclosed this to journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

According to NAN, Umar said the summary of the inmates across the country by conviction and those on awaiting trial list was 77,849 within the period under review.

According to him, the total number of convicted inmates was 24,013 while the number of convicted male inmates was 23,569 and the number of convicted females was 444.

“Statistics shows that 69 per cent of the inmates in Custodial Centres are actually awaiting trial while 31 per cent are convicted inmates,” he said.

According to him, one of the challenges confronting the service was the dilapidated custodial structures which resulted in overcrowded and congested spaces within the centres.

The NCoS spokesman said the government had recently constructed 3,000 ultra-modern additional custodial facilities across the six geopolitical zones to decongest existing centres.

He said the initiative would help in decongesting the centres as well as enhance the welfare and the health of the inmates.

“That of Kano has been inaugurated and we are expecting speedy completion of the remaining facilities under construction.

“The ongoing construction of Abuja and the Port Harcourt centres had reached completion stages and they would soon be inaugurated,” he said.

A businessman, Nasiru Yunusa has stated his conditions before he can grant his wife a divorce.

He told an Upper Area Court in Kubwa, FCT, that he would grant his wife, Aisha Hamisu a divorce if she pays him the sum of ₦1 million which he spent on her.

Yunusa and Hamisu got married according to Islamic law sometime in 2021 and share a 13-month-old daughter.

Earlier, Hamisu approached the court seeking dissolution of her marriage with Yunusa, on grounds of lack of care and respect.

She said that Yunusa packed her belongings from his house to her father’s house on April 19, 2022.

Yunusa however said he wanted Hamisu to return to his house but would grant her a divorce if she agrees to compensate him.

“I have spent money on a lawyer for court proceedings which has been going on and all I have spent on her is ₦1 million which I am ready to prove,” he said.

In response, the plaintiff said that she did not love Yunusa and could not live with him.

“It is not true that he has spent ₦1 million on me because I have been with my parents for the past two and a half years after he dumped my property at their doorstep,” she said.

“I had our daughter through a Cesarean section at Kubwa General Hospital and he did not pay a dime for hospital bill. I am ready to pay him back the dowry of ₦50,000 only to him.”

The Judge, Mr Mohammed Wakili, adjourned the matter until January 8, 2024, for continuation of hearing.

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, has claimed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike ignored his counsel.

According to Eze, the law of nature is at work against Wike, who is currently in a battle over who steers Rivers State with Governor Siminialayi Fubara.

Eze, in a statement on Saturday, hinted that it is the law of retributive justice working against the Governor, recalling that in 2014, Wike supported five lawmakers led by Evans Bipi to sack 27 lawmakers loyal to Amaechi, then Governor of Rivers State and elected Bipi as Speaker and today five lawmakers have sacked 27 of their colleagues loyal to him.

“When I told him that whatever you sow will come after you he ignored my counsel”, Eze said.

Eze further recalled that in 2018, when the then Governor of Zamfara State, Governor Bello Matawalle decamped from PDP to APC, Wike was threatening fire and brimstone that he should vacate his office in line with the constitution.

According to Eze, Wike used the same strategy on Dr David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Cross Rivers State counterpart Ben Ayade when they decamped from PDP to APC.

“The constitution is clear and the law must be adhered to and going by that, the decampees have lost their seats at the state legislature, it happened in Cross Rivers State so all the noise about the ex-lawmakers in Rivers State is a noise of no value,” the party chief noted.

Eze said after losing the PDP presidential ticket, Ganduje has gone on to ensure that Wike is sent back to the classroom of practical politicking to learn the rudiments.

He has been tricked into thinking that he handed over Rivers State APC to him by wrongly dissolving the Rivers State Chapter and appointing some Wike’s loyalists as Caretaker Committee.

By doing so, Ganduje has created the opportunity to deal a heavy blow to the former Rivers Governor and his type of politics, whereas it was a mere ploy to drown him in the deep ocean of politics.

Eze commended Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Tinubu for turning “Wike into an unlearned comedian, poor cook, unskilled dancer and untalented entertainer.”

The Director, South-East Zone of NAFDAC, Martins Iluyomade, disclosed this to journalists on Tuesday during a raid of the market which began on Monday.

He said the suspects in Cemetery Market occupy over 240 shops meant for traders which they turned into production centres for large-scale adulteration of beverages and drugs.

“What’s happening here at Cemetery Market, Aba is worse than Boko Haram. We saw how many shops were converted into manufacturing centres for all manner of wines, expensive drinks, and revalidation of the expiry date of products.

“We have the cooperation of the state government and so far we have discovered 240 shops used for this illegal manufacturing of fake consumables and about 10 persons have been arrested and the arrests are still ongoing”, he said and ordered the temporary shutdown of the market.

He disclosed that the agency got information about the illegal activities involving adulteration of known beverage brands in the market by a large number of persons in the market, stating that after doing some background checks, the agency discovered that “horrendous things” were happening there, and decided to carry out the operation without involving its Abia office.

He added, “Four trailers cannot carry the fake products we moved out from here. It shows the extent we have gone so bad as a country and the extent of dangers these people are creating.

“No wonder we have all manners of health issues and the funny thing is that we use our money to buy this evil. Our Director-General is not leaving any stone unturned in getting rid of fake products in our market.

“I will suggest that this market be shut down for now until we sanitise this market for a while. We have written to appropriate authorities to that effect and we think it is the right thing to do because when people are around, everywhere is rowdy.”

Reacting, the Coalition of South-East Youth Leaders frowned at the development, describing it as “man’s inhumanity to man”, advising that the matter must not be treated with kid gloves.

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), has said he would like to die peacefully.

Adeboye made this known while speaking on Day 3 of the RCCG Holy Ghost Congress at the Redemption Camp in Ogun state.

The clergyman said he would like to die on a Sunday after a special meal, recalling how his uncle died in the toilet.

According to Adeboye, his uncle returned from the Church on the day of his death and got a light meal from his wife while waiting for the pounded yam being prepared for him.

However, his uncle decided to use the toilet when his wife was in the kitchen preparing the pounded yam, but died there without sickles or any pain.

Pastor Adeboye added that he would like to die peacefully when it was time for him and prayed that everyone listening to him would die peacefully without any sickness or illness.

He said, “I know somebody will say, well, if we are never sick, then how are we ever 21 going to die and go to Heaven? You don’t need to be sick to go to Heaven.

“An uncle of mine woke up on a Thanksgiving Sunday, went to Church, danced like everybody else, came home, the wife gave him a light breakfast before preparing the original food – pounded yam. She was already pounding the yam when my uncle decided to go to the toilet.

“After she finished pounding, she knocked at the door of the toilet; when they opened the door, my uncle was gone. No sickness, no ache, no pain. If the Lord tarries His Coming, I will go on a Sunday after a good meal of pounded yam.”

A man once voted the most handsome in Italy has quit his modelling job, and abandoned his dreams of becoming an actor, to join the priesthood.

Edoardo Santini, 21, was voted Italy's most beautiful man in 2019, when he was 17, in a pageant organised by ABE, a fashion group.

However, after years of studying drama and dance to achieve his dream of becoming a star, he took to social media on Saturday, Dec. 2, to disclose that he would renounce his career for his faith.

He wrote: "At 21 years of age I find myself on the path towards becoming a priest, God willing."

He added that he has joined a seminary near Florence.

"I've decided to give up modelling work, acting and dance, but I won't abandon all my passions, I'll just live them differently, offering them up to God," said the Castel Fiorentino native.

He added: "At 21 years old my father took the decision to marry my mother because she was pregnant and my mum, at 21, became a mother.

"Me, at 21-years-old, I find myself taking the path to become, God willing, a priest. In these past years I've been able to meet people who have shown me what it means to be 'church'.

"They have given me the strength to investigate this question that I've taken with me from childhood but various fears stopped me from studying it at a deeper level. Last year, I took the first step,"he said.

Edoardo said he went to live with two priests and called it the "best experience of my life".

"At the end of the year it was natural for me to ask the bishop to enter the preparatory course, the year that precedes life in the seminary. And here I am, studying theology and serving two parishes in the Florentine diocese."

Now, he says, he has "put aside my job as a model and a dancer", in favour of a new "world" where he has "met marvellous people with pure hearts, to whom I owe a lot, who allowed me to grow".

"Of course I won't abandon everything," he added. "Because they make me who I am but I will live them in a different context."

Edoardo said he would continue to follow his new path in spite of backlash.

He said: "Of course I have people that speak behind my back. There are those who have no problem telling me that I'm a disappointment, even in my family. But there are also those who support me, believers and non-believers."

He said that although it "terrified him" to abandon his dream and become a priest, he was sure he will not regret the decision "because now I can shout: I am Edoardo, I am 21 years old and I am happy".

In a video shared on his Instagram page last week he shared a clip of him appearing to pray in a church, with the caption: "I got back on my path".

Sheila, the estranged wife of Davido’s logistic manager, Isreal Afeare, has shared her version of how their marriage contracted in October 2022 packed up.

In a series of posts, Sheila dismissed claims that she deceived Isreal into marrying her. She also dismissed claims that when he came into her life he made it better for her and her parents as they were living comfortably before she met him.

She stated that anything Isreal did for her and her family members was voluntary as he was never coerced to do them. She disclosed that Isreal stormed her mother’s shop yesterday November 24 with boys to collect a generator and phone he apparently purchased for her when they were still together.

She hinted that she was constantly being locked out of their matrimonial home for no reason, constantly threatened and also suffered multiple panic attacks. She suggested that Isreal also accused her of taking pills not to get pregnant and deprived her of doing anything. She stated that Isreal never wanted to be accountable for anything, not even the money that was sprayed on them at their wedding. In an interview with media personality Oriyomi Hamzat, Mohbad’s dad called on Nigerians to join him in fighting for his son. The cleric affirmed that he would conduct two DNA tests on Mohbad’s son, Liam, as he cannot accept another man’s child. He also shared details of how the late singer’s wife, Wunmi, would leave the hose for days out of annoyance whenever she fought with him

Mohbad’s dad, Joseph Aloba, has called on Nigerians not to leave him in the fight for justice for his son.

In a viral interview online, the singer’s dad begged people not to get tired of making sure the person responsible for his son’s death gets what they deserve.

On the DNA issue he has been clamouring about for weeks, Joseph Aloba reiterated that it is a must and that he cannot accept his grandson, Liam, if he belongs to another man.

He called on Nigerians to help him with funds as he intends to conduct the test twice for authenticity.

The Rivers state government has redeployed Emeka Amadi, clerk of the house of assembly.

In a circular dated November 20 and issued by the office of the head of civil service, Amadi was redeployed to the state scholarship board.

The head of service did not name a replacement to succeed Amadi.

The state government also redeployed Calistus Ojirika, the deputy clerk/ head of department (HOD) legislative department, to the readers project.

Georgewill Otto, an assistant director at the ministry of physical planning and urban development, was redeployed to Rivers State Small Town and Rural Water Supply Agency.

Amadi and Ojirika were asked to hand over to the most senior officers in the house of assembly.

According to the circular, the posting takes effect immediately.

The development comes about three weeks after an attempted impeachment of Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers.

Rivers has been grappling with a political crisis linked to the rumoured rift between Fubara and Nyesom Wike, the immediate former governor of the state and current minister of the federal capital territory (FCT).

Despite President Bola Tinubu’s reported intervention to restore peace in the state, there are speculations that the political crisis is far from being resolved.

Desmond Akawor has resigned from his position as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State after Bola Tinubu appointed him Federal Commissioner representing Rivers State in the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission.

In his resignation letter dated November 22, 2023, and addressed to the PDP acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umaru Damagun, Akawor said his resignation is connected to his appointment.

He noted that he has since handed over to his deputy, Aaron Chukwuemeka.

The letter read: “I have recently been nominated for a Federal appointment to the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission as the Federal Commissioner representing Rivers State.

“After consultation with my leaders and family, I have accepted this opportunity to serve our country, which I consider a national service.

“Consequently, I have resigned my position as the Rivers State party chairman of our great party - the PDP, and immediately handed over all duties to the Deputy Party Chairman, Aaron Chukwuemeka, who has commenced action in this stead.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to have steered the ship of our great party, the PDP at the state level from 2020 to 2023, and especially grateful for your support and the support of the national body during my tenure.

“My family and I are extremely grateful to Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for his consideration and for finding me worthy to serve in this capacity.

“I remain committed to the ideals of our party always and will continue to be available to provide, steer, and support for all party affairs whenever I am called upon.”

Akawor’s resignation letter emerged Friday, Nov. 24, hours after Tinubu appointed him to serve as a Federal Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, pending confirmation by the Senate.

Barely a few days after berating his aides over what he described as poor misrepresentation of his administration, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has directed the freezing of all state and local government accounts with immediate effect.

In a statement on Thursday, the Commissioner for Finance, Asiru Idris, said no imprest or any form of payment should be made to anyone from Government Account henceforth.

According to the statement, all “standing orders and investment instructions are hereby cancelled forthwith”.

“All Kogi State and Local Government Accounts are hereby frozen with effect from today, Thursday 22nd November 2003.”

Bello, who is at the end of his eight-year double tenure, is expected to hand over power to the Governor-Elect, Usman Ododo, in January 2024.

Ododo, an ex-Auditor General of Local Government in Kogi under Bello, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate had won the November 11, 2023 Kogi State Governorship Election.

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a businesswoman, Mrs. Juliana Dimaka, in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

Dimaka, the owner of Testimony supermarket at Grace Bill Street in Eket, was strangled to death at her home on October17, 2023, at 8.00 p.m.

A reliable police source at the Eket Divisional Police Station, who craved anonymity, confirmed the arrest of the suspect to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday, November 23.

The source said that crack detectives from the Akwa Ibom Command investigating the murder traced the suspect to Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he fled to evade arrest.

According to the police source, the suspect was traced to his friend’s apartment in Port Harcourt, Rivers, where he was hiding.

“We traced and tracked the culprit to Port Harcourt in Rivers State and arrested him and took him to Ikot Akpanbia in Uyo,” the source said

When contacted, spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP MacDon Odiko, would neither confirm nor deny the arrest of the suspect.

“I am not confirming anything to you until I’m able to get information on the matter. It will take me time and I have a lot on my table now, but if you have any information, send it to me, so that I can start digging,” the PPRO said.

LAWMAKER representing Argungu/Augie federal constituency of Kebbi state at the House of Representatives, Sani Yakubu Noma, said he had concluded arrangements to give out 100 female orphans in marriage.

He disclosed this while speaking to journalists in the state, saying the marriage ceremony would take place on Saturday, November 25.

“A committee has been set up for the successful implementation of the event. Those selected to be married out were drawn from the two local government areas that I’m representing at the National Assembly.

He described the marriage plans as his contributions to the welfare of orphans which will take place at the Palace of the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera.

Hon. Noma disclosed to journalists that he would disburse constituency equipment to over 1000 people as part of his constituency project during the marriage ceremony.
