The First was a job vacancy advertised on nairaland by an online firm in UK, they needed an online health rep.. The interview was on WhatsApp..They drilled me with so many research questions, gave me deadlines to submit and I always wowed them by submitting before deadline.. The interview process took about a week.. The next week..They called for salary negotiation..I was so excited but my excitement was cut short when they told me they're paying according to minimum wage..i was taken aback..even though I opted for part time..30000 wasn't cool because I knew their rep in uk won't be paid same wage..i told them that I should be paid same as the person working in uk since it's almost same job description but they said they'll pay according to country's minimum wage. I told them even a part time pharmacist cant earn such amount..she said Nigerians are obsessed with money..started giving entrepreneurship gospel bla bla..I just kuku lost interest..lol

This could be the biggest mistake of your life.
Minimum wage is the least payment and it's usually for level one.
For your level which is not supposed to be less than 8or9, you should be paid around 160to200k.
YOU SHOULD HAVE ASKED THEM TO EXPLAIN TO YOU WHAT THEY MEANT BY MINIMUM WAGE JUST SO YOU UNDERSTAND WELL.
THIS COULD HAVE JUST BEEN AN EXPENSIVE UNDERSTANDING ERROR ON YOUR PATH....

I applied for a senior managerial role for one of the top breweries in the country. A HR person called me like 3 months later after I had almost forgotten the application. She introduced herself and asked if she was speaking with Mr ABC and I said yes. She asked if it was a good time to talk and I said yes. Na my first mistake be that. Actually, it wasn't a good time to talk. I and taken some days off from work to supervise some contract work being done at my site. I was not in my best and never thought it was a phone interview. I felt she was going to schedule an interview date with me; never knew it was a phone interview.

Immediately I said yes, the questions started flying in from left, right and center. Infact, I was in a conference call with a group of HR people and a very senior manager I would be reporting to.

Needless to say that I fluffed most of the questions. Infact, I was so off my game. Couldn't string words together, kept stammering and sturtering. Even me wasn't impressed by my performance and I knew I couldn't even convince myself to hire me. I was better than that, but the call was at the wrongest time.

She did say she would get back to me, but I was sure she wasnt going to, and she hasn't.

Some few years back my Buddy (Ibrahim)was fortunate to secure a Federal govt job which as we all know in naija is like hitting a jackpot! His family are quite rich and he happens to be the last born so he had so much benefits and little or no responsibilities.

Every damn thing was good, we always balled together, i made him stop takin codeine and all this crazy syrub which I noticed most some part of Hausa's Cherish more than their O level(dats mostly their max anyway)well I introduced him to taking proper Alchohol like Hero, legend and my ever favorite "Budweiser "!
He always payed the bills coz financially he was bigger!

The main problem began wen he traveled to Philippines to meet with his dad, a Consultant in Manilla, their he met Zainab who was a med practitioner. This lady drove my guy crazy! Like literally crazy! First, wen she got back to Nigeria he became more obsessed ,their was no conversation we could make without he mentioning or Linkin it to her. He was becoming bitchy! Even wen we all go out together she always had dis disdainful grimace on her face like the people around there are beneath her. Imagine ordinary Philippines naim she school (no disrespect for) dats not my headache atoll.

In a nutshell, he wanted her badly and as we all know, as a Muslim its a serious taboo to lose ur virginity before marriage! Ibrahim wanted dis lady soo badly and I don't know mayb it was her beauty cause to be honest she was glaringly radiant in beauty and very erudite in speech. or maybe twas his percievd pedigree of her, I couldn't tell what the oomph was all about.

She liked him too dou but he never took the time to understand that marriage is different from the normal menalin quest!

They never kissed; touched nor romanced before he proposed which I agitated against but my friend went on with his plan and they got married. Yes! He got married Blindy and ever since Dia marriage has been more like its a hell in a cell match.

First, this lady knows nothing about cooking,she can't even cook shit! Ibrahim always have to come eat at my place after work cause according to him she only prepares indomie and Egg!

Secondly she is not a playmate unlike before she doesn't gist while watching tv or have naughty talks aside work and normal stuff like dey use to.

Lastly she doesn't flow in bed (dead wood) and my friend through me has tasted some igbo girls and we know igbo ladies are beasts in bed (we love it like da) he complains of her being too modest in bed and this is funny cause I believe he solely got married cause that was the only way he could have her.

At the moment, they not on talking terms cause he doesn't touch her anymore nor even eat her food (indomie).

My friend was blind to get married with a wrong perception but I really feel for him dou he causd the drama himself. He is considering cheating on his wife at the moment just to relax his urge but I don't support cassanovering wen one is already legally married.

A year to the day after they were married, the wife and husband were returning from the home office where the wife had just been given Indefinite Leave to Remain when she said, "It's been a while since I have been home to see my mother, I'd like to go and see her". So they arranged for her to go and she was gone for a month. And when she returned, she said she wanted a divorce, "your mama, your mama, your mama!" And they divorced.

She went on to have two beautiful daughters who are now married themselves, while mama is still praying that her 60 year old only son find a suitable woman to give her grandchildren.

I think you have the patience and wisdom to deal with this. You calmly presented your case and I believe you remain calm when dealing with mama hence the 3 likes. I think you should have moved on when he refused to defend you. You should have told him off big time when he didn't and got him to commit to defending you from attack. What if it were an outsider, would he have said nothing then too?! Talk to him about it now.
