PoliticsI Have Nothing To Do With NIMASA N34bn Fraud – Tompolo by hmuhammad(op): 6:46am On Jan 18, 2016
Former Niger Delta militant leader Government Ekpemupolo has denied involvement in the alleged N34 billion NIMASA fraud.
The denial was contained in an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, which Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo) personally signed on Sunday.

He said, “The truth of the matter is that I do not know anything about the 34 billion naira EFCC is talking about. First, it was 13 billion naira (N13bn) issue, now it is 34 billion naira (N34bn).
“I am not a signatory to any of the companies mentioned in the said N34bn case, so I do not know where this one is coming from.

PoliticsBombshell: Biafra’s Dead, Obasanjo Insists by hmuhammad(op): 8:30am On Jan 16, 2016
Pleads with PMB to act like God by spreading Nigeria’s resources

By Soni Daniel, Northern Region Editor

As the protagonists of Biafra intensify efforts for the realisation of their secession agenda, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, described the move as a dead agitation borne out of sheer ignorance and error of judgment. The former President said those involved in the current agitation for Biafra were embarking on hopeless and futile exercise, which no serious-minded Nigerian should engage in.

Obasanjo who spoke in Abuja during  a roundtable discussion organized by Nextier Advisory, a public sector advisory firm spearheaded by Patrick O. Okigbo III, with the theme: “Nigeria and the Biafra Agitation”. The ex-president asked leaders from the South-East geopolitical zone to call the protesters to order as such action would not do them any good. He said only those who did not experience the Nigerian civil war would embark on such a malevolent exercise.

He refused to blame the Igbo for not voting for President Buhari in the last election but urged him  to prove that Nigeria was his constituency by acting like God who gives rain to the good and the bad. Obasanjo said: “No right-thinking person who has experienced the horror of war will ever agitate for more wars. Most wars stem from real and perceived injustices and dissatisfaction and invariably wars emanate from a desire to correct or redress such situations.

“Our civil war wasn’t any different. But at the end, almost all wars, jaw-jaw takes over from boom and devastation of the gun. That is the path of wisdom, prudence and political sagacity. If the elders abdicate their responsibility to the immaturity, inadequate experience, unrealistic idealism and the frustration of the young, it will no doubt lead to disaster.

PoliticsBuhari Will Not Know Peace, If Niger Delta Knows No Peace – Tompolo by hmuhammad(op): 8:17am On Jan 16, 2016
Government Ekpemupolo popularly known as Tompolo as said that Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari will not know peace if the Niger Delta region knows no peace.
Tompolo who was reacting to allegations that he attacked oil installations in Warri area of Delta state threatened the number one citizen of Nigeria after stating his readiness to corporate with the federal government.
The reasons why the ex-militant drew the Niger Delta region into his differences with the federal government is unclear but the influential warlord might be on collision course with the government over his statement.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria told he will know no peace by Tompolo
“Well, I am sure this is what President Buhari is looking for. He should allow the people of the Niger Delta Region to know peace, otherwise he will not know peace as well,” Tompolo said in the last paragraph of his statement issued by Paul Bebenimibo, his media aide.
Reacting to allegations that he was responsible for bombing oil installations in Warri, he said: “I am not responsible for the attack and I condemn it as a dastardly act. I am aware that some persons might want to destroy oil installations and link it with me that was why I said before time that I have nothing to do with it.
“I could not have gone ahead to carry out such action knowing that every finger will be pointed at me because of my case with the Federal Government,” he added.

PoliticsFlash:metuh’s Self Appointed Lawyer Withdraws Suit Against EFCC by hmuhammad(op): 11:40am On Jan 14, 2016
Henry Ojelu.

Olisa Metuh, PDP National Publicity Secretary held by EFCC
Mr Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa has withdrawn the enforcement of fundamental human rights suit he filed on behalf of incarcerated Peoples Democratic Party, PDP spokesperson, Olisa Metuh against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC at the Federal High Court, Lagos.
In a press statement posted on his Facebook page, Adegboruwa said he was never briefed by Metuh to filed the suit and has since realised that Metuh had filed a similar case before a Federal High Court, Abuja.
Below is his press statement: “On Monday, January 11, 2016, I had filed an application before the Federal High Court, Lagos, challenging the continued detention of Chief Olisa Metuh, the spokesperson of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, the leading opposition party in Nigeria.
“Subsequently on Tuesday January 12, 2016, I filed an application to compel the EFCC to produce Chief Metuh in court. However, I have on January 13, 2016, filed a notice of discontinuance of the said suit.
“Since filing this suit, I have received several telephone calls from colleagues, friends and well wishers, some congratulating me for the ‘fat’ brief, some criticizing me, some seeking explanations and some others commending and encouraging me.
“The truth is that I have never met Chief Metuh before and I did not receive a dime from him, or from anyone else, to file the suit. I did so based upon my conviction, that it was wrong to arrest a citizen of Nigeria, lock him up in custody and be boasting that he will not be released or charged to court.
“My intervention on behalf of Chief Metuh, is not to shield him from his trial, if found wanting, but rather that as the voice of the opposition in Nigeria, he should not be cowed or silenced, without following due process.
“Through Chief Metuh, Nigerians have had the benefit of hearing the other side of the sweet stories of change, that the Buhari regime has been feeding us with.
“I filed this case with my resources, based upon my conviction, that Chief Metuh was being unfairly treated, in the circumstances leading to his arrest and detention. It has since come to my notice however, that Chief Metuh had filed a similar application, before the Federal High Court, Abuja, late last week, but same was not made public.
“Furthermore, it would seem now that Chief Metuh is finding a common ground with the EFCC, in the light of the revelations coming forth, in relation to his case and the promise to arraign him in court. I support the anti-corruption war of this administration, when it is done in accordance with the rule of law.
“My intervention in securing reprieve for victims of human rights abuses, is not novel to Chief Metuh’s case. For decades now, I have been partnering with civil society organisations, especially the Civil Liberties Organisation, the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, etc, for the release of suspects in police or prison custody.
“I have equally represented widows, students, retirees, fishermen, mechanics and other classes or indigent people, in court, for one redress or the other. These are not matters that I should ordinarily seek public notice or commendation, as the ultimate glory goes to God only.
The point is that I represent all interests, where there is a need for redress. So, if General Buhari leaves office tomorrow and is similarly unfairly treated, as is being done to Chief Metuh now, I will intervene, by the grace of God.”

Ayade fingered in the arrest of former PDP national publicity secretary

Cross River State Governor, Benedict Ayade, visited President Muhammadu Buhari wednesday where he described the ongoing anti-graft war as perfect.

The governor, who addressed State House correspondents after meeting with the president, said the war against corruption was already yielding positive result.

According to hm, investors are already trooping into Cross River as a result of the anti-corruption war.

“The anti-corruption war is perfect. For those who know the pains, hardship and frustrations that Nigerians have passed through; as a nation, there is so much in terms of natural resources and the people are so poor. It is only obvious that any serious government must take the issue of corruption seriously.

“I think that’s why today, Nigeria is beginning to have national and international image that looks like Nigeria is getting prepared for business. That is why investments are flowing into Cross River State. That’s a sign that the anti-corruption war is actually working and it is giving Nigeria the international image that we need.

“The state has a lot of investors coming in to start massive investments in rice project in the state. To that extent, I just needed to come and brief the president so that he would’ve an idea of what’s going on in the state and of course, use the opportunity to brief him on some other issues,” Ayade said

On the Bakassi Deep Sea Port dredging contract, he said: “The project is real and that is part of what I discussed with Mr. President and the president has given his commitment that he’ll support the deep sea port and the evacuation corridor which is the 260kilometer super highway. The president did give advice and warning that as far as that he had come to give support to this programme, I must come to give quarterly progress report on this project.”

The governor added that he also discussed rice production with the president.

“This is part of what I discussed with the President. Since we have special commercial credit facility for which as a state we have requested for N4.8billion. If we have that it will support us. But basically interns of the investment outlay, the investment outlay is over N10billion and there is also a foreign element which is a function of what the foreign partners are bringing,” he said.

Meanwhile, the governor has been fingered as a Chief Magistrate Court in Calabar wednesday ordered the arrest of the former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Venatius Ikem, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The order was given following an application by the police that a warrant of arrest be issued by the chief magistrate for Ikem’s arrest for his failure to honour the court summons.

The summons had the state Commissioner of Police as plaintiff while is Ikem the defendant.

It read in part: “To Venatius Ikem, ‘M’ of House 4, Etim Ekpo Close, Parliamentary village. You are commanded in the name of the Chief Magistrate Grade I, to attend before the Court at Moore Road, Calabar on January 13, 2016, at the hour of 9a.m. in the forenoon and so from day to day until the above named cause is tired to give evidence in the above named cause.”

It was gathered that the matter in which Ikem was being summoned in court occurred in 2011 when he had a brawl with a politician who is now serving in Ayade’s government.

Reacting to the arrest order, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla who stated that the order of the Chief Magistrate court would be challenged at a higher court, said the entire issue directed against Ikem amounted to political witch-hunt against political opponents of the governor.

In a statement made available to journalists , Obono-Obla stated: “I strongly condemn the use of the Nigeria Police Force and the judiciary in Cross River State by Governor Ayade to oppress, intimidate and hound his opponents especially members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). I condemn the order of arrest issued by a Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Calabar against a chieftain of the APC, Ikem today for allegedly failing to appear before a Chief Magistrates’ Court, Calabar over a politically-motivated and trumped charge that was initiated by agents of Ayade to hound and embarrass Ikem who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC did not go down well with the governor.

“Yesterday (Tuesday) a purported summons requesting Ikem to appear before a Chief Magistrates’ Court, Calabar today was dropped at the private residence of Barrister Ikem in Calabar. Ikem was away to Lagos on a business meeting. Today (Wednesday) when the case was mentioned in Court and Ikem was absent in court, the police prosecutor applied for the issuance of a warrant of arrest.

“Despite the fact there was evidence before the Chief Magistrate that the summons was not personally served on Ikem ( as required by law) the chief magistrate regrettably and improperly issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Ikem. Accordingly Ikem has instructed me to file an application for the enforcement of his fundamental rights in the Federal High Court, Calabar to quash the purported warrant of arrest.”

But, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Ita, described those associating Ayade with the court order as hypocrites.

“The mantra of the APC government is change and the rule of law. So, what is happening in court as all about the rule of law which the APC members have been preaching? The order day, Obono-Obla wrote an article rejoining Femi Falana, in support of the continued detention of Sambo Dasuki and others citing legal issues, so why is the warrant issued by the magistrate court against their party man not view as a judicial matter.

“Please, they should leave my boss out of this. Ikem should go to the court with his lawyers and defend himself instead of assuming the governor unjustly in a matter he is not involved.”

RomanceRe: She Slept With My Best Buddy And Expects Me To End Friendship With Him. by hmuhammad(m): 5:02pm On Jan 13, 2016
petkruz:
Some friends or would I say acquaintances are quite shameless. I threw a birthday party @sailors lekki and had prominent friends in attendance including my best friend who didn't hesitate to spend lavishly as he kept ordering drinks and food. I noticed this friend of mine was exceptionally quiet all through, probably observing the whole thing.Next thing I knew she was glued to my buddy, dancing, laughing and all that.I was totally ok with it because everybody was having fun, they exchanged numbers and everybody left happily.I warned her to be careful as he wasn't single!

2 weeks later this lady started insulting the guy, saying all sorts about him,if we are hanging out and he shows up she leaves angrily, this continued for about 4months. I got to find out she went to his mansion several times, they went to all the expensive restaurants in lekki and in 2weeks the guy hit the cookie

The annoying thing now is she wants me to stop being friends with him, someone i'v known since Adam, his fiancee is my friend,he has helped me in so many ways, I can't stop talking to him because of some careless act.

My so-called friend has stopped talking to me,she doesn't hang out anymore, she doesn't call and all but biko is it my fault? Is it a crime I refused to support either of them? We all are adults and solely responsible for our decisions. Should I call both for a hangout to settle the issue? Or ignore completely
maybe the thing no do her, can you please arrange for them to do it one more time?
