How do you arrest the seller if transaction was done in an anonymous blackmarket with buyer in far away Australia?
Just accept it’s a futile course.

How do you arrest the buyer when you can’t identify that the Bitcoin is stolen yet ? Plus there are many tor blackmarket where transactions can be carried out anonymously.
It’s not totally impossible to trace if there’s a leak to debug from tho but still a very rigid and expensive process cuss lots of resources and time will be invested.
The end to end cryptic chain of bitcoin is what makes it stand till date.

Bitcoin is the easiest form of payment to trace. The process takes time but you will be caught.
Example.
The kidnaper receives the bitcoin using a wallet stored on his phone. Immediately he logs in and transfers the bitcoin,
His IP address goes into the private log of the wallet provider and this log can be obtained with a court order.
So all the kidnapper needs to do is send the bitcoin and his IP address can be traced.
Once you backtrace the IP address with the telecom provider like MTN etc.
You then get the SIM contact details and also the cell tower it pinged.
Catching the kidnappers is too easy if the police know what to do.

You are wrong, if the suspect use ip masking software like Vpn (that doesn’t leak dns) or sock, it will be impossible to trace the transaction plus it’s very rigid and expensive Process to get court order to carry out such investigation.
I think it’s better to just accept it’s a lost course.
