Julietekekwe1:No, GEJ got it wrong then. See reason below. ------------------------------------------------------------ No, it wasn't APC or anybody fault that Jonathan subsidy removal backfired. I could remember back in late 2011 NLC, TUC and other stakeholders were holding meeting with FG on how to remove the subsidy. They held series of meeting NLC, TUC, other stakeholders and FG which ran into late December. Then the stakeholders were already cooperating with FG on the removal and modality it will take. And more importantly the stakeholders with FG have concluded then to educate Nigerians the benefits of removing the subsidy. The meeting was inconclusive in 2011, so the stakeholders and FG agreed to continue the meeting by 2012. Surprisingly the FG on Jan. 2 announced removal of subsidy without reaching conclusion with the stakeholders. This was how Jonathan administration shot himself in the foot, hence the protest tagged "Occupy Nigeria". In as much i support Buhari administration and subsidy removal, the FG must talk with all the stakeholders on how and modality the removal must take. Also they must educate Nigerians the benefits of subsidy removal. Buhari government should not repeat or replay Jonathan administration mistakes. |

Lol! I don't even want to calculate it: N40 x thousand dollars = ? These people are wicked o ibkgab001: |
So GTBank has been cheating me all this while! modath: |
Yes, i know the headline will amuse some people. I own a dom account account with Gtbank which i opened when i was in Lagos. All my adsense payments are deposited in the account. For about 2 month now the only GTbank branch in my area council of Ogun state told me i can't withdraw cash because the adsense payment is an inflow. That i can sell to another person electronically or sell to GTBank via internet banking which they are claiming is a new CBN policy ( i have searched for the policy but can't find it, not even on CBN website). So for the past 2 months i have been selling to GTBank @teeth gnashing range of N189 - N199 per dollar via internet banking. But now the reason for this question and thread is shock awakening of a friend who runs an adsense website but base in Lagos. When he got the adsense alert last month, i told him he will have to open internet banking to withdraw the money ( he is using GTBank as well). To my surprised, he cashed the money over counter in a Lagos GTBank and sold it to mallam. That is the reason for this question or what do you think is going on? |
So you want Fashola to turn the whole of Lagos State to Dubai in 8 years? Besides do you know the picture of Lagos State before Fashola administration? I am 100% sure you don't or may be you do but the cancer of hatred has eaten up your anus. anonimi: |
I thought am the only person who saw that line. A whole CBN governor saying you don't need power for farming? Just yesterday when i went to struggle for fuel, a farmer guy said he need at least 30 liters for just that day and that he is ready to buy N150 per litter. chukkiephil: |
Why do you want Buhari to die at all cost next year? Is it because of Hatred or is your life frustrated? I don't really get it, why your sole aim in 2016 is for Buhari to die. You better pray to God for forgiveness and prepare your mind for greater things in your personal life in 2016 irrespective Economy pendulum swing. chrischina: |
Yes it will arrive by 2 weeks maximum, my experience twice. The first time it arrived in 2 weeks, the NIPOST man brought it but could not locate my house ( we don't have number in front of the house) So i went to NIPOST nearest to my house and complained, it was then the NIPOST man that brought it told me specifically it brought the card to that house ( after describing my house) and said could not locate the number ( my fault). So i was told they have returned the card. Then i told the NIPOST man that i will re-apply for the card again and the man promised to ask for my name in that house which he did after 2 weeks when the second card arrived. Moral of the story locate the nearest post office to your house and, consult and rapport with them you will surely get your card. Oh! I tipped the NIPOST man 200 naira after delivery instead of paying $50 to DHL for fast delivery. Hope this help. Emmanuelnce: |
@PLANETMARS So if i use my normal IP, which is Nigeria IP. Can i use a UK address along with it? PLANETMARS: |
Do you mean inflow (electronic) or physical dollar deposit? o42austino: |
How are you guys opening clickbank from Nigeria? Because i opened about 3 times at different times with different UK public proxies all were closed by clickbank. So how are guys doing it now? |
I don't even understand the whole thing again. Because in the state (Ogun State) and local council i am staying the only branch of my bank don't allow me to do physical withdrawal of my adsense dollars claiming it is CBN policy. So for the past a month now i have been selling to my bank at a loss of $1 to N189 - 199.05 via internet banking. But where i am confused now is that some people on nairaland are able to be doing physical withdrawal in the same bank ( not in my local council branch) even when the dollar is inflow. What made me now believe nairaland users claim is a friend i am helping to run an adsense website who is residing in Lagos. Just last week he was able to withdrew his inflow adsense dollars and sold them to mallam. And to think that we are using the same bank o. May be the CBN that is controlling banks in Ogun state is different to that of Lagos state. That is why for next payment, i am traveling to Lagos to do physical withdrawal, because here the branch here want milk me dry. JN1: |
Congrats though but i don't envy him for having a first class in Maths. Because if you have an outstanding mathematical skill and talent ( which the guy have)and you choose to study Maths in tertiary institution then you are destiny to make an excellent first class like this brilliant chap. Where this guy got more brilliant is when he applied his mathematical talent to his chosen field of study in the university. The people i respect most are those that make first class in social sciences and pure sciences. Because in both instances you have to prove in written that you know what you are saying of which the examiner may still mark you down. But in Maths universally 2 + 2 = 4, no examiner can arguing against that. All the same, once again congrats to this dude. Because to make first class in any Nigerian universities no be "moinmoin" not talk of been over all best graduating student. |
As i later discovered not only GTbank is unpredictable at this moment. All Nigerian banks are currently not unpredictable because on another thread here someone said that UBA visa card charged him at @265 per $1 for online transaction. People should be careful of using Nigerian Banks card to shop online so that you won't receive debit alert in naira and collapse. estilo: |
When last did use your Skyebank card? As far as Nigerian banks are concern anytime from last Thursday onward is not predictable. Like you, i have always vouch for GTbank that its won't charge more than 220.05( because that was the range its have been charging me not until yesterday) as the time other banks were charging more than that. And i use the card to buy at least a day in every week. sofiabelgrade: |
Yes most of them have upped their rates since Thursday. Diamond bank N217? I saw on another thread here where someone said that Diamond charged him/her N230 per dollar, so they all not predictable especially from Thursday. Besides i have always use GTbank at N220.02 the highest per dollar not until yesterday experience. MzDeeb: |
I just received GTbank debit alert this morning of the transaction i did yesterday around 9:30pm. You know what? GTbank charged me N239.998843....... per $1 In short do the calculation yourself: N18,671.91 divided by $77.8 I was thinking that the charges won't be more than N220.05 per dollar, can you imagine the difference? At least Nigerian banks should have a system that will notify one of their POS dollar rate before doing e-transaction. I am just using this to alert people who might want to use their card to buy via any e-transaction channels to do their finding very well before any transaction. Walahi this money pain me no be small ![]() |
Oh my God! I just received GTbank debit alert this morning of the transaction i did yesterday around 9:30pm. You know what GTbank charged me N239.998843....... per $1 In short do the calculation yourself: N18,671.91 divided by $77.8 Can you imagine? And if you want to sell dollar to GTbank via the internet banking, they will say they are buying N199 to $1 I am telling you Nigerian banks are worst than BDC. And to think that i helped a friend to do this transaction of which i charged him N220.01 per dollar. Kai! This guy must pay me my balance today or... estilo: |
What was the rate GTbank charge you when you use your naira mastercard to purchase online both yesterday and today? Asking because i am about to make a payment of $88.00 using GTbank naira mastercard. Anyone? |
