SportsRe: Nigeria: NPL Stars Who Are Likely To Change Club by honeric01(mod): 6:18pm On Dec 25, 2012
Isiaka Olawale (Dolphins)

The captain of Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles is being linked with a return to his hometown. After a one-season spell at Dolphins, where he did not enjoy first-team football, Kwara United are ready to offer him a deal and regular football.

Likely destination: Kwara United

Femi Thomas (Akwa United)

His superb style and display with The Promise Keepers in the 2011/2012 season did not go unnoticed as he will stand for the LBA Best Goalkeeper of the Season. Newly-promoted NPL club, Nasarawa United are one of the sides looking in the direction of their former goalkeeper.

Likely destination: Kano Pillars, Lobi Stars, Nasarawa United

Victor Ezeji (Sharks)

Undoubtedly one of the most capped players in the Premier League era in Nigeria. He has been in the system for 15 years and no wonder he has been named the LBA Ambassador and also Okey Emordi wants him at Enugu Rangers.

Likely destination: Enugu Rangers

Ousmane Pape Sane (Sharks)

He is one of the two Senegalese centre-halves at Sharks and impressed last term. Sane, who has been nominated for the LBA Best Foreigner, remains a long-term target of Coal City club, Rangers.

Likely destination: Enugu Rangers

Gbolahan Salami (Enyimba)

His disciplinary record has been his Achilles heel over the years. A very talented winger-cum-striker and after starting last season well at the People's Elephant, Salami just disappeared off the radar. But now he's being linked with a return to former club, 3SC after failed attempts to move abroad.

Likely destination: 3SC

Jonah Abutu (Lobi Stars)

Abutu played a key role in Lobi Stars' title challenge last term, which led to winning a place to the 2013 Caf Confederation Cup. The former Bayelsa United man is hot on the list of the two Port Harcourt clubs but a move to Rangers also looms.

Likely destination: Enugu Rangers, Sharks, Dolphins

Bright Esieme (ABS)

A promising right wing back signed from Abia Warriors by ABS can also play in the heart of midfield. The player will definitely favour a move up north where Kano Pillars will offer a chance of winning silverware, an improved wage and featuring in the Caf Champions League next year. Esieme has been nominated for the Rookie of the Year by the LBA.

Likely destination: Kano Pillars

Tony Okpotu (Lobi Stars)

The striker, just called into Nigeria's Super Eagles for the Afcon game against Liberia, is being pencilled down as a possible addition to Kano Pillars' forward line with Gambo Mohammed likely to leave in January. Last term he scored seven goals for Lobi and can also play as a wide man.

Likely destination: Kano Pillars

Pierre Coly (Sharks)

This 27-year-old Senegalese centre-back is one of several players being watched by Enugu Rangers to fill the void in the heart of their defence after James Okwuosa left for South Africa's Chippa United. He joined the Blue Angels this year from Senegalese club, Casa Sport. Coly is one of five players standing for the Best Foreigner gong of the LBA.

Likely destination: Enugu Rangers

Gomo Onduku (Sharks)

He chalked up the LBA Player of April 2012 on the back of a superb performance for the Blue Angels last season. Onduku has also impressed PSL side, SuperSport United, now keen on signing him. But back home, he is not short of suitors with three clubs looking to sign one of the most impressive wingers of last season.

Likely destination: Kano Pillars, 3SC, Enugu Rangers

Andrew Abalogu (ABS FC)

This former Abia Warriors' striker was one of the most underrated players in the top flight last term. But after a decent return of nine goals, four top NPL sides including former African champions, Enyimba and Cup holders, Heartland want him. Abalogu has also been nominated for LBA's Rookie of the Year.

Likely destination: Heartland, Enyimba, Enugu Rangers, Lobi Stars
SportsNigeria: NPL Stars Who Are Likely To Change Club by honeric01(mod): 6:17pm On Dec 25, 2012
Coaches and players are beginning to seek moves within the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) ahead of the 2012/2013 campaign as clubs bolster their playing and coaching personnel.

With speculation rife on movement in the Nigerian top flight, supersport.com lift the lid on players likely to dump their teams for new ones within the league.

ThankGod Ike (Warri Wolves)

The Wolves' centre-half commands a hefty wage and was one of top performers last term. The lure of continental club football is the only option for Ike to leave Wolves, which had their worst seasons in three years. Three clubs are on alert including his old team, Heartland but a move back to Owerri might be scuppered owing to wage issue.

Likely destination: Enugu Rangers, Kano Pillars, Heartland

Morenikeji Akanbi (3SC)

This petite forward was a bit-player with 3SC last season. Akanbi has been linked with a handful of clubs abroad but there are two likely destination waiting for him in Uyo and Ilorin. The striker is only keen on moving to a club that would guarantee him first-team football.

Likely destination: Akwa United, Kwara United

Sibi Gwar (Niger Tornadoes)

He finished as the Premier League's leading scorer last term with 16 goals. In the last two seasons, Gwar scored 26 goals in about 50 appearances at Niger Tornadoes. But the former Ebonyi Angels forward wants to move abroad in spite of huge interest from four NPL clubs. He will be honoured at the 2012 League Bloggers Awards (LBA) in Lagos in October.

Likely destination: Enyimba, Kano Pillars, Enugu Rangers, Kwara United

Abdulrahman Bashir (ABS)

ABS' leading scorer in the last campaign remains an interest for Kano Pillars' head coach, Baba Ganaru. Bashir, valued around or more than $100,000 (about N16 million), could be a difficult pursuit for his suitors in the top flight. A loan move is, however, a possibility to Pillars, as they prepare for the 2013 Caf Champions League.

Likely destination: Kano Pillars

mallorca: I quote ur question to Andrew Uweh again(Why Ejike? ever watch his games huh) dat means u neva watch him play but still u include him on ur 23 man list? i doubt if u know much about football or you dislike Ejike as person if not i challenge you to kindly name any home base player discoverd by Keshi who is better than him? upon his constant trials abroad while the league was one He was voted the best NPL player of the year along side Ruben which he lost to Ruben because Ruben help Pillars to win the NPL title.now on ur question why i think he shuld b on d starting list? tell me why he shuld be on ur 23 man list then i will tell u why he shuld b on startin list, thank u sir!
Yes, it was a question to Andre Uweh, how does that translate to me not knowing the guy? i needed him to explain why he chose the guy in his starting 11 squad, let him explain, why are you sweating for someone else? some people choose names just because they like the sound of the names, not because they even know the person in particular.

Now to you saying i don't know much about football or disliking the guy, why should i dislike someone i am not directly involved with?

For your information, Ejike wasn't discovered by Keshi, he's been around even under Amokachi's home based Eagles, stop trying to make this sound like i "hate" the guy.

The question was never to you or are you Andre Uweh? let the guy tell me why he prefers Ejike to Ideye/dike e.t.c in his starting 11.

I rather go with Sibi Gwar than Ejike if i really need an home based striker. this guy finished the league as the highest goal scorer, since he wasn't picked, i had to at least pick Ejike only to play as a substitute.

Shalom!

mallorca: Listen i dont have time for to argue this morning,i quote you, because you ask why is Ejike in d list?
He is someone i work close with..him been on d list is not by mistake,He remain the best Player Discoverd by Keshi so far just like Osaze to Xtian CHukwu.Thank U
Read my post very well, i never asked why he was on the list, rather i asked why he was on the starting 11.
To you, he remains the best because you know him personally, but to others, the reverse is the same, i could also come out to say Onazi remains the best Keshi discovered or even say Dike.

So kindly tell us why he deserve to start ahead of other strikers that the poster benched. no one is here to argue.

OsunOriginal: I understand you and really appreciate but when will Igbos change? You need pay Igbos back in their own coin if you want them to change - lets play tribalism for tribalism and I tell you they will change their ways. We have appealed to them again and again that we need to work together, we need to reason together to build the country. Tell me if Igbos reasoning has changed a bit.

Lets isolate them and put them where they belong.
Everyone is related to eachother whether you like it or not, if you doubt me, check your family members and see if one or more aren't married to another tribe.

Igbos must be isolated!
To hell with tribalism, please stop this "Igbo this", "Igbo that" if you need to quote me, division is doing more harm than good to this country! angry

calaway: The southern politicians are not as daring as their northern counterparts. The south of this country revere life and have a strong fear of God and respect. let me ask you this and answer me truthfully:
It is not just buhari you should wonder about.
You should also wonder why such a mass murderer like kabiru sokoto should walk out of police custody?
why senator ndume is not prosecuted?
why sambo who was indicted by ndume is still vp.
why the sultan of sokoto should object and reject the changes in jaji after the bombing with a bomb from the amoury?
and finally
IF THE OIL IN NIGERIA WHERE IN SOKOTO KANO AND MAIDUGURI WOULD WILL we HAVE AN ENTITY CALLED NIGERIA?
Why are you running from the question? can you just answer it and stop disgracing educated people with silly posts.

Why should justice be denied because of this "The southern politicians are not as daring as their northern counterparts. The south of this country revere life and have a strong fear of God and respect"?

Now, tell me, what is the fear of God? where is the fear of God in the south? and what does the fear of God means really? huh huh huh
What kinda God do people serve in the south that is very different from the north? what happens in the north that does not happen in the south?
if there's anything like the fear of God in the south, why is Nigeria the way it is? with all the money in the south, why are people running abroad from the south than the north where there is no fear of God?

If there's fear of God, why do we have more criminals in the south than the north?
If there's fear of God in the south, why is the south not as "beautiful, advance like the developed world?
If there's fear of God in the south, why do we have people like you and the rest always twisting the truth just for a pot of pottage? the god you serve, is it a lie loving god or what?

calaway: That is the beauti of this country? In the Interest of National unity certain areas or people are sacrificed. Look at that Madalla mastermind Kabiru sokoto who killed more than 50 innocent xtian people including children who was excorted by the police out to freedom. And remember also that this Guy was arrested in The governors house in the company of a serving airforce officer. Yu see the BH matter is very wide spread. Jihad is supported by all Northern muslims and they will play their role when called upon. GEJ is not fully aware of his powers so he is scare of rocking the boat in the interest on National unity but the other side has no such considerations
.
No, it simply means they have nothing on him, he's their number 1 enemy, so why should they spare him if truly they have anything on him? Even as popular as Abiola was to the west, he was still killed, so what makes GEJ and his "killer govt" not arrest Buhari if he actually has hands in the death of people during election and boko haram mayhem?

Please spare me the nonsense about " In the Interest of National unity certain areas or people are sacrificed", you're not talking to a foool here.

Acecube: the list released by stephen keshi is definitely the best we can ask for....mikel is a slowpoke, having another slowpoke '' haruna '' wont do us any good. having said that, i would have loved to see obagoal due to his current form, and i think the reason behind picking amoebi was to give the guy a chance to play in the nation cup because he's already ageing /not becoz of form, the guy had a goal draught in epl from march to december/..but he and dike can be a sort of bully to other teams defenders... Rabiu was termed okocha replacement then, if he can contribute half of what jayjay did... I'm o.k with him though his match fitness is in question...
It's likely to see Keshi replace Sola with Martins after Sola's coach insisted he won't be releasing Sola.

Austin Ejide
Solomon kwanbe Efe Ambrose Joseph yobo Elderson Echiejile

Ahmed Musa Mikel Obi Reuben Gabriel Nosa Igiebor

Victor Moses/Brown Ideye Ikechukwu Uche/Bright Dike

For the double strikers, it all depends on how they perform during build up training.
