mens dept:I can't continue with you because you are failing to see the points, WHO FORCED SIASIA into taking up jobs he knew were late? he forced him into it? I said some of the players, now you are bringing up 90%, hehehe, you are a joke hehehehe, infact, i don tire for u joor. , how many Local players did you see on Eguavoen list? only 1 started the match (Nwabili), then he brought in Otekpa (these 2 are only the HB he used).Like i said, we are talking about Siasia here and why i believe he does not deserve what he's asking for, so cut me the long sermon about other coaches. Before Amodu was employed, he was already tested and had past performances to boast of (same SE), and he never asked for $100k PER MONTH!!! So no comparison here bro. |
^^^^ Mere Assumption, hehehe, informal sector that can't be ascertained is being grouped under the 70% mark? i pity your likes. Got no more stuffs to type on this issue. IF dem like, make dem say na 90% live on less than $0.5 a day, as long as these same people are not dying of starvation, i am good to go! |

The past The women’s game has become Korea DPR’s strongest footballing suit with impressive performances at all international levels in recent years. With their senior side more than capable of competing against the world’s best, it was their junior side that made history by winning the 2006 edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Inspired by the unprecedented success, they were unstoppable at the inaugural FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in New Zealand two years ago, sweeping past the likes of England and USA en route to clinching the crown. The present Entering the qualifying competition as defending continental and world champions, the East Asians opened brightly by romping past hosts Thailand 5-0. A 7-0 demolition of Myanmar sealed their place in the last four despite a 2-2 draw against Korea Republic in their final group game. In the decisive semi-final clash, they edged out Australia 4-3 to book their passage to the continental final in addition to a place at Trinidad and Tobago 2010. The future It goes without saying that Korea DPR head into the tournament seeking the defence of their title and for coach Ri Song-Gun, determination is key for them if they are to emulate their feat of two years ago. "The one thought our players have is to win matches to send a report of victory to our country," he said. Although a host of young talents have come through up the ranks, he places team work above individual performances to win tactical battles. Facts and figures Former stars Jon Myong-Hwa, Yun Hyon-Hi, Jang Hyon-Sun Key players Kim Kum-Jong, Pong Son-Hwa Qualifying statistics Before their final defeat to Korea Republic, Korea DPR maintained their impressive form, scoring 18 times in 4 matches. The numbers game 6 - is the number of goals they conceded in the 2 meetings with Korea Republic. After drawing 2-2 against their southern neighbours in the group stage, they lost the final re-match 4-0. |
The past As the pre-eminent force in African women’s football, Nigeria will be hoping to make more of an impact on the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2010 in Trinidad and Tobago than they did two years ago in the inaugural tournament. A straightforward campaign to reach New Zealand saw them qualify with a match to spare, and they were tipped to go through from what turned out to be a topsy-turvy group. The Flamingoes beat eventual group winners Korea Republic 2-1 before falling to England 1-0. Knowing that either of them could go through with a win, Nigeria and Brazil then slugged it out to a 2-2 draw that saw neither progress to the knockout rounds. The present Like two years ago, the Flamingoes were the first African team to qualify for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. In this case, their passage was booked following a 2-1 victory over South Africa at the beginning of May. But the hard work of the two-legged tie against the Bantwana was done in the first match when the west Africans ran out to an impressive 5-0 win in Abeokuta. Ugochi Oparanozie was the spark in that one-sided contest, scoring four times, including a first within a minute of the opening whistle. Ngozi Okobi claimed the fifth in the first leg, while Charity Adule and Oparanozie again bagged the two in the away leg. The future Drawn into a manageable Group A in Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria coach Peter Dedevbo will be looking for a fast start in their opener against holders Korea DPR. If things do not go well in the first match there should be time to recover against two tournament debutantes: the hosts and Chile, who finished second in South American qualifying. The Flamingoes will no doubt be buoyed by the success of the Falconets, who battled their way to the Final of the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Germany. And though they lost to the hosts in the ultimate match, there is a feeling that the ceiling has been broken for Nigerian women’s football. “The success of [the Falconets] presents us with a big challenge,” Dedevbo, who was an assistant for the full Nigerian women’s team, said recently. “This is not the time to lower our guard now that Nigerians are turning to women’s football.” Facts and figures Former stars Amarachi Okoronkwo, Ebere Orji and Amenze Aighewi Key player Ngozi Okobi, Loveth Ayila Qualifying statistics Nigeria played just 2 qualifying matches after Togo’s withdrawal put them into the second and final round without having kicked a ball. The numbers game 4 - the number of major international tournaments Nigeria will compete in this year. The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup comes on the heels of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup as well as the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, while the Super Eagles also finished third in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations back in January. |

mens dept:They finished 8th on the table, not because they weren't good enough, but because they channeled their manpower towards the champions league (they also had small team size), they finished as the 2nd runner up in the caf champions league behind TP mazembe, Emeteole was not sacked because they finished 8th, he was sacked for the reasons i highlighted below, they just wanted something to use as an excuse to have him sacked, so forget the yeye quote you dey quote. The same players you claim they are to go on strike because of not being paid finished 2nd in ACL, so wetin be your point? ![]() |
^^^^ See who's shutting someone up, they wanted Siasia to come coach them just because they think once he becomes the coach of the SE, he might want to pick some players from heartland to the SE, thereby upping the value of these players (that means more money for heartland, incase these players end up being sought after by bigger and richer clubs). You sure do not know much about football, if not, you would have asked Siasia why he likes picking up late jobs, the same thing he did with the U-20, he ended up denting his certificate, now he's doing the same with Heartland, who's to blame? NFA or Nigerians this time around? He has only won 1 match since he took over Heartland in the ACL. He's not what the money he's asking and i am saying it without fear! |

4 Play:So in your long sermon, you are trying to say 70% of Nigerians live below $1 a day? hehehehe, you are joking, when last were you in Nigeria? when you came to Nigeria, where did you reside? did you for once go to the markets? do you know how much food stuffs cost? the slowest soup you can cook for a family of 2 is nothing less than -N-500 (excluding what you are to eat the soup with). Nigeria is made up of 70% informal sector where their take home pay cannot be ascertained by any foreigner, not even the Nigerian government, so where on earth did your source get their "facts" from? Most governments in Lagos (state and local government) are begging these people to come pay any amount they think their businesses is worth as tax, you can only analyze what you have a grip of, most Nigerians (even those working in government establishments as civil servants) have other businesses that fetch them 70% of the money they survive on, it's very uncommon not to see a Nigerian doing or having more than 2 sources of income, VERY UNCOMMON. So i still maintain, IT'S A PURE LIE TO THINK THAT 70% OF NIGERIANS LIVE BELOW $1 A DAY! |
mens dept:You don't even know what you are saying, Heartland was doing well before the coach was sacked, they got to the final of the Caf champions league, on their way there, they beat Kano pillars 5 : 0 on aggregate ( the same Kano pillars that removed Al Alhy Heartland couldn't beat under siasia). So don't come here with that talk abeg. |
I hope this girls are going to continue from where their U-"20" counterpart stopped. |
That Valentine is good, he should be integrated into the SE, having 3 LB is not a bad thing. |
Game over, not the kinda scoreline i expected though. ![]() The Super Eagles of Nigeria beat the visiting Madagascar 2:0 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium Calabar in their Nations Cup qualifying match on Sunday. Both goals were scored in the first half by Obafemi Martins and Michael Eneramo. Nigeria dominated the first period, but lost their tempo after the restart with the Barea coming close to breaching the Eagles defence in the dying moments of the game. Rubin Kazan striker Martins was been the spark in the Eagles attack, scoring a fine opening goal and creating a second. Martins struck first in the 19th minute after lashing on to a high diagonal ball and racing in before finishing confidently. Martins was again on the end of a brilliant long ball by Chelsea man Mikel Obi in first half injury time. With much work still to do, Martins beat the right back on the run before cutting back for Eneramo to finish clinically. The duo of Stanley Okoro and Ahmed Musa made their Super Eagles debut late in the second half with Musa showing flashes of why he is considered one of the brightest new Nigerian talents. |
90’ – The Barea finish with a flourish as they record another corner, while the game is held up for a few minutes to attend to injured Kalu Uche. 89’ – There will be three minutes of additional time. 89’ – Momadany fails to connect a cross from the left by Liliana. |

77’ – Madagsacar's Ibrahim Samuel's shot is too weak to trouble Enyeama. 76’ – Martins controlled the ball and turned inside the six-yard box only for masina to scramble the ball to safety. |
76’ – Uche free kick forces goalkeeper masina to punch for a corner. |
74’ – Madagascar Substituition: Madagascar bring on Momadaly a striker |
72’ – Madagascar fouled again as Yobo shields the ball for Enyeama to collect the ball easily. |
71’ – Nigeria have about 70% of the possession. 70’ – Okoro is already making his presence felt as he forces a corner. 69’ – Okoro was the stand-out star for Nigeria at the U-17 World Cup last year in Nigeria. 68’ – Nigeria Substitution: Stanley Okoro replaces Eneramo. 67’ – Nigeria are playing the ball around more as they look for gaps in the defence of the other team. 65’ – A mistake around the Nigeria box gives Madagascar a sniff at goal, but in the end it's nothing to worry about for the Eagles fans. 64’ – The game has opened up a lot more now as both teams have more space within which to really express themselves. 63’ – Otekpa's shot from distance is wayward and easily rolls out for a goal kick to the Barea. |
61’ – It's not a good call because the goalkeeper bumped into his own defender. 61’ – Nigeria survive a scare after sub Otekpa makes a mistake deep into the Nigeria area. 61’ – Madagascar Substitution: Carolus replaces Zozimar for Madagascar 60’ – Martins nods home a free kick by Uche, but the ref disallows the goal for a foul on the goalkeeper. 54’ – Nigeria Substitution: Eneji Otekpa replaces Femi Ajilore. 52’ – Enyimba defender Valentine Nwabili is holding his own in this star-studded Eagles team, but Madagascar will not surrender easily. 49’ – Laliana takes on the Nigeria defence but Yobo stops him before he fires home from inside the box. |
46’ – Madagascar kick off the second half. – The second half is about to start soon, Nigeria back on the pitch. 45 + 4’ – It's the end of the first half. The Tunisian ref blows his whistle. Fans are dreaming of more goals from the Eagles after the interval. 45 + 2’ – The crowd are now a lot more excited and begin to do the Mexican wave in celebration. 45 + 2’ – Great work by Martins again! The Rubin Kazan striker really wants to play. 45 + 1’ – GOAL! Martins darts into the box from the left and Eneramo finally gets his goal with a simple tap-in. Nigeria lead 2-0. 45’ – Defensive header by Yobo, There will be four minutes of additional time. 44’ – The long ***** by Nigeria are easily read and cleared by the Barea. 43’ – Martins is stopped in the nick of time as he steadies to fire home from inside the Madagascar box. 42’ – Scrappy play by both teams as game approaches the half time mark. 39’ – Nigeria pile on the pressure in search of a second goal. 38’ – Still 1-0 in favour of Nigeria as the visitors continue to defend resolutely. 36’ – Madagascar look comfortable on the ball, but it is Uche who blasted at goal from outside the box for goalkeeper Masina to save easily. 34’ – Eneramo again runs clear of the Barea back line but he fails to get a hold on his shot. The Esperance striker looks good for a goal. – The game is still wide open as Madagascar are here to play football, they are not intimidated by Nigeria's track record. 31’ – Eagles clear their lines back in defence as the Barea attack again. 29’ – Madagascar can look after themselves physically as the likes of Osaze, Martins and even Eneramo find out quite quickly, 28’ – Tempo of the game has slowed down since a frantic opening by hosts Nigeria. 26’ – The lively Laliana puts in a cross inside the Nigeria box, but there is no player to make the necessary connection. 25’ – Long ball by Yobo locates Uche, whose chip from outside of the foot is again punched away by the Madagascar goalkeeper. 23’ – Martins forces a corner kick, the first of the game after he was again put through by Uche. 21’ – Free kick for Eagles from a scorable distance, taken by Uche but the goalie punches the eventual kick to safety. 20’ – It was a clinical finish by Martins, who dashes into the box before firing home with his weaker right foot. 19’ – GOAL! Obafemi Martins opens the scoring. Nigeria lead 1-0. 18’ – Eneramo's shot from well outside the box goes wide. 16’ – Mikel is spraying his long ***** to launch the Nigeria attack, but the away team seem to be reading those ***** very well. 14’ – This will not be a picnic for the Eagles. Madagascar are holding their own even on a bumpy UJ Esuene Stadium pitch. 13’ – Martins sets up Kalu Uche inside the 18-yard box but Madagascar clear their lines. 6’ – Eagles playing the ball around well as Madagascar try to contain them and sit back in their own half of the pitch. 4’ – Game restarts after a three-minute delay. 1’ – Nigeria take kick-off. 1’ – Still within the minute mark, Eneramo goes clear for Nigeria, but he fails to make hay after he collided with the goalkeeper.
