emyworld:You dey sleep or wetin? didn't he know he needed strikers when the transfer window was wide opened? Higuain and Benzema not leather? oh they are wooden abi? where were you when Higuain was almost the highest goal scorer in this same La Liga? where were you when Benzema was turning the whole of Lique 1 upside down with goals? Must you just type because you want to? you people should stop deceiving yourselves, until mourinho starts turning raw talents into world beaters, nothing in the world will make me call him a world class coach (he's a good coach, but not a world class coach). This same Mourinho publicly said the Champions league was better than the world cup just because YOU DON'T BUY PLAYERS IN THE WORLD CUP? hehehehe, silly man!!! |
This man is surely sick, can someone just send a missile to end this man's misery once and for all? |
sbeezy8:And when did i claim to be yoruba? and who are the nigguz? do you roam about with slaves? |
^^^^ I tire for all these Nigerians self ![]() |
^^^^ Is Messi a striker? going by your illustration, that means Barca also has just 2 strikers (Bojan and Villa). We all know Benzema and C. Ronaldo, including Kaka have always been striking for any club they have played for, so Mourinho should not complain! He hardly groom players on his way, always looking for short cut!!! Lazy thing ![]() |
Ibra labels Guardiola 'small-time coach' Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Wednesday took another swipe at Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, dismissing him as a "small-time coach". "In my book, a great coach solves his problems. A small-time coach runs from them," the 28-year-old Sweden forward told a press conference in Stockholm. "There was only one person (on the Barcelona team) who wanted to get rid of me," he insisted, explaining why he left the team and signed for AC Milan over the weekend on an initial one-year loan with a pre-arranged €24million permanent deal arranged for the end of the season. He had spent just one year in Spain following a €50million plus Samuel Eto'o switch from Inter Milan. "I have never had problems with any coach before during my career," he said. "But suddenly I had a thousand problems and I had no communication with 'the Philosopher'. No communication whatsoever. I don't know what his problem was," he said of Guardiola. "I couldn't take it. I had no choice but to find a new place of work and I was lucky to go to a club like Milan. I am 28 -years-old and can not afford to lose a year sitting on the bench and watching the weather," he added. Ibrahimovic is in Stockholm with his national team for a Uefa Euro 2012 qualifier against Hungary on Friday. www.supersport.com |

Nigeria will underrate Madagascar at their own peril Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be odds-on favourites to beat Madagascar in the southern coastal city of Calabar on Sunday, but other teams have discovered to their own peril when they took the Indian Ocean islanders lightly. It is a match-up between a team of Europe-based pros against part-timers, but Madagascar cannot be discounted easily particularly after they posted some decent results in the previous qualifying campaign. They beat Botswana 1-0 and held both mighty Ivory Coast and Mozambique to 1-1 draws at home in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. Two 3-0 defeats away to Ivory Coast and Mozambique meant they finished on six points from as many matches, behind group winners Ivory Coast and Mozambique. They will be led to Nigeria by Frenchman Jean-Paul Rabier, who got off to a winning start when the team pipped Comoros Islands 1-0 recently. Nigeria, on the other hand, are trying to pick up the pieces after a disastrous World Cup in South Africa, where they failed to win a match and finished bottom of their first round group. Former Sweden coach, Lars Lagerback, has taken up a job at the FA of his home country after his short-term contract ran out in July. Austin Eguavoen, who led the Super Eagles to third place at the 2006 Nations Cup in Egypt, has been in temporary charge of the team. He called the shots when Nigeria lost 2-1 to South Korea in a friendly last month and he will also be in charge for the Madagascar match. It is widely believed that the popular Samson Siasia, who led the country to the final of the football event of the 2008 Olympics, will finally be given the top coaching job on a permanent basis in time for the decisive Nations Cup qualifier away in Guinea in October. “We will focus on this game and win it and after that Samson could come and continue from where I will leave the team,” said Eguavoen. More than half the 23-man squad to the World Cup have been overlooked for this game, while there has been a deliberate attempt to give players in the domestic league a chance to stake a claim at full international level. Nigeria Premier League top scorer Ahmed Musa, Bayelsa United goalkeeper Bassey Akpan as well as Enyimba defenders Emmanuel Anyanwu and Valentine Nwabili are part of the squad. Fulham midfielder Dickson Etuhu and Joseph Akpala of Club Brugge have been ruled out as a result of injury, while Esperance striker Michael Eneramo and Oluwafemi Ajilore have been recalled after they were axed for both the 2010 Nations Cup and the World Cup. Joseph Yobo was the last arrival as he had to sort out his loan move to Fenerbache of Turkey, while the Eagles most dependable defender Danny Shittu will have to put behind him the cancellation of his contract by Bolton Wanderers. The 29-year-old Shittu managed just 12 games for Bolton since his arrival at the Reebok Stadium from Watford in August 2008. Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi has joined up with the Eagles to douse speculations regarding his availability. Mikel was dropped from the World Cup squad on account of a knee injury. “It’s a home game and we have to play well before the fans. We hope to win but we cannot afford to underrate the other team,” warned Osaze Odemwingie. supersport.com |
This coach is a silly coach, what does he want? 20 strikers? Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema is not enough for a coach? I always knew this man to be a loud mouthed coach, does he want the whole striker in La liga? ![]() |
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho hit out at his club for not backing him in the transfer market and leaving him short up front. Despite boasting attacking resources including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Gonzalo Higuain and Karim Benzema, Mourinho told Thursday's La Gazzetta dello Sport that he wanted more. "As coaches we're always unsatisfied, we always want more and for that reason I'm with those who ask for new signings," he said. "Even if each person does it in his own way, some more introverted, others more aggresive. "At Madrid I wanted another striker, Higuain and Benzema are not enough." But he admitted that buying players is never easy when in charge of a big team as selling clubs inflate their prices. What he did get was German midfielders Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira, and he said he is happy with them. "Transfer dealings are not easy with Real, if you move a finger a storm breaks out. "These two are good players, young, and they were in the last year of their contracts. "We paid €25 million (for the pair), that's a competitive price." Despite the embarrassment of playing riches at his disposal, Mourinho's Real started the season with a 0-0 draw against Real Mallorca and immediately came in for some harsh criticism from the Madridista press. But that's something he accepts as an occupational hazard. "This is Madrid and you can't change it. If you can't live with this pressure it's best not to accept (the job). "At this stage of my career it was the best time for such an experience. "After Chelsea and Inter Milan, after 10 years of success and big clubs, after a demanding league such as Italy, I have the right age and maturity." And what he's already realised is that no teams are going to come out and attack his and give them space to get in behind their opponents. "There's an elementary reality, we're playing against teams that keep things tight and try to hit us on the counter-attack. "Even in a friendly playing Real is like a World Cup final. "This summer, to protect a 1-1 draw a coach made four substitutions between the 90th and 94th minutes. "I have to be prepared tactically for the possibility that we lose the ball and we get jeered. "And then find some solutions to open up closed defences." The former Chelsea, Inter and Porto boss also took the opportunity to weigh into the goalline technology debate, proving in favour. But he says first and foremost, players have to stop cheating. Last year in the Champions League semifinal, second-leg away to Barcelona, and with Inter protecting a 3-1 first-leg lead, he had Thiago Motta sent-off after some blatant simulation by Sergio Busquets. After challenging Motta for the ball, Busquets crumpled to the ground clutching his face and writhing in apparent agony, only to be caught on TV cameras taking a sneaky peak through his fingers to check if his play-acting had worked. It did, Motta was dismissed for an alleged elbow but Inter still held on to reach the final, playing an hour with 10 men. "The most important technology is the collaboration between players and referees so we can stamp out dives such as Busquets' with Thiago Motta. "And then it's impossible not to introduce goalline technology, it's elementary, basic and avoids injustices. "As for other things such as offsides, that's a discussion for our children." http://www.supersport.com/football/spain/news/100902/Mourinho_unhappy_with_lack_of_strikers |

chelseabmw:How's going to Turkey a let down? Do you know who Fernabache is? Can you compare Everton with Fernabache? Do you know how many veterans Fernabache have in their ranks? |
sbeezy8:What's with me and Edo? did you see Edo written on my forehead? |
Even in my pains and worries, i say may your name be exhorted, AMEN! |
Can you people please respect the girl being discussed here? |
Mobinga:Nice one |
Did anyone see the spike? |
jalether:Well, bro it's just that i put keen interest into these alien leagues, i like competition and i am a fan of a league where they have many champions, a league where you don't have 1 or 2 bullies who spanks their local opponents without mercy. So bro, can you give us your own list? |
Didn't even know threads like this exist |
Heartland people ooooo ![]() |
tkb417:CFR cluj is actually doing great now, at least they have been able to win their 2nd ever title in the league. |
tkb417:Yea, i didn't ask for the most lucrative league, nor am i asking for the most performing clubs in Europe, what i asked for is the most COMPETITIVE (playing eachother with no distinctive difference, thereby balancing the force of power and fair-play). Yes, they might be weak playing against other clubs from other parts of Europe due to the fact that they aren't as rich as their external opponents, but when it comes to their league, any of the teams can defeat any club home or away. |
tkb417:Nah, you are wrong, the most competitive in Europe to me is the Romanian league, not the Spanish league. |
Guys, yea i know someone might say this topic must have been discussed before, but i am bringing it up again, watching football is not just about watching some bully clubs spanking harmless/wingless clubs all season long without anyone coming to their aide, so i am trying to know what my fellow nairalanders feel about the most COMPETITIVE league in the whole of the world. List them from 1 to 10 the way you feel they should be. Here's my list. 1: Nigerian League (NPL) ![]() 2: Romanian League 3: Australian League 4: Iranian League 5: Qatar League 6: German League 7: Italian League 8: Mexican League 9: Argentine League 10: French league. ![]() Notice, this thread is NOT about the most watched league, nor is it about the most expensive league, nor is it the most lucrative league, nor is it about the most organized league, IT'S ABOUT THE MOST COMPETITIVE based on how equal the clubs in the league are and how they often challenge eachother, and how the top 5 is not always sure until about 2-5 matches to go. |
tkb417:Well, i have rearranged IMO. Now, let's arrange in terms of COMPETITION, which European league is the most COMPETITIVE? ![]() |
Maybe we should start putting the tribe of any Nigerian that does both good and bad for this country? (If they live outside Nigeria). His name alone is Igbo, so why the inclusion of Igbo again? Nigerians, you should stop deceiving yourselves, una hate una self pass SHIIIT |
tkb417:I didn't see what you typed, can you please type it again? ![]() |
We have a future for the super eagles, there's surely a light at the end of the tunnel. |

Etuhu out, Mikel in Posted: 2010-09-02 07:03 Dickson Etuhu has pulled out of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on Sunday with an ankle injury. But the Nigeria squad was boosted with the arrival of Chelsea star John Mikel Obi, who trained with the rest of the team. NFF Acting Chief Media Officer Robinson Okosun explained that Etuhu picked up the injury in Fulham's last Premier League match. “Etuhu informed us about the injury, but we asked him to report here so our doctors could ascertain the severity of the injury. "They confirmed the situation, but he will remain to support his team mates on Sunday.” With Mikel's arrival, captain Joseph Yobo is the only player still being expected in camp. The defender was given permission to finalise his move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. Yobo will join the team on Thursday morning. www.kickoff.com |
