It all boils down tho the fact that we don’t plan our life’s, firstly I will blame the father for allowing the mother take such action, you should not feel comfortable for your child to be out her mother reach for 2 hours for the first 6-8month of his/her life, at that stage they need all the care and attention. For me no external care until 2yrs plus. 1 Like |

When the political will is there to get job done ; project will be done. Politics play a greater role in all sector of this country. 4days ago CCECC section iv has be calling all sub contractors to come back to work , promising to pay as at when due. You can see from Hon Amaechi submission on the ibadan-Kano where he promised things will be done differently in terms of payment and supervison. It shows they are aware of the ill treatment they melt on we the Nigeria contractors when it comes to payment patterns. It’s an amazing experience working on the rail project, can’t wait for the ibadan-Kano to commence, it’s always a time to contribute our quote, employ youth and make plenty LALA ogododo: 2 Likes |

The coastal rail project is on course, Fg and Russian partners are on it already. A lot is involve in the design stage of a rail project not to talk of the main work, we will definitely get there, faster with a more positive political will. Presently the minister for transportation is very passionate about this project that is why we can achieve this little amidst all bottlenecks and Naija factor. Vortex369: 2 Likes |

You are right thou, but we have a few Nigeria contractors working too but the major challenge is financing. The nature of the contract on the rail is without mobilizations, you finish then your work is evaluated and certified before you are paid, but where do you get the friendly loan in due time when you have fellow Chinese contractors with sufficient funds at 0% from the exim bank as competitors. Personally am proud to be part of this project and we are putting in our best at the section iv km121-157. Okpa042: 2 Likes |

As much as CCECC, CRCC,TEAM and other subcontractors are doing their best to ensure they meet up, our president should fast track the appointment of his ministers as this is delaying the work drastically. I can confirm to you that the second track is now at KM 149 1 Like |

The minister is really passionate about the project, and he his putting a lot of pressure on CCECC, the heat is getting to CRCC which get to all subcontractors and workers on section iv (omi Adio - moniya) where i am, am a nairalader and one of the youngest subcontractors on section iv. I can boldly say TEAM which is the Nigeria consulting firm for the project is doing a fantastic job in ensuring the project is well carried out in compliance with the design and BOQ. The project will have move faster than this if we have a system that works like that of the Chinese where u can walk to any bank as a contractor and get loan 2-3% within days. Man power has been doubled by all contractors because the rain is here, laying of track is already at DK 122, DK 137 already receiving Suballast, final grading at DK 145, trapezium drain completed at Dk148, Herrinborn ongoing at DK 137,144,145,148. trapezium drain ongoing at DK 150 day and night. Retainer completed up to Dk 150,DK 151 to start this morning,DK 153 bridge ongoing concurrently with DK 157, work ongoing on all b underpass. Ologuneru sub station has commenced. I come to site on Sundays after services and i do night occasionally, working on this project is a privilege,it's an avenue to learn, opportunity to contribute my qoute to the development of my country by constructing according to the drawing and specification and we are doing a fantastic job. Am working on DK 145 Herrinborn interception frame presently, you can come and have a veiw of what we are doing. It's a 3km from where the bridge is been constructed after ologuneru, take a right on the service lane at km 142, if you must come on a rainy day come with a hilux or a 4wd vehicle. Personally I think the shooting is uncall for, I see this as victimisation of the people around there. This is may fair/lagere road from what I see, I can sight slot , ace supermarket, airtel and the rest, and from where I am here in ibadan I can guess the person that record this, did so from a building with the red aluminium roofing, if you Google map it out on your phone you will see it's the only storey building opposite and adjacent to slot, the caption indicates its recorded from the first floor. Another angle to this is that the security agencies might be pre-emting possible breakdown of law and order there by creating awareness that they are fully on ground to who ever my be nursing such. To me a march parade is cool not the shooting.[Qquote author=Pinkyhubb post=71568236]Military shoot out in osun state rerun election today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzaa_Suitjg[/quote] |

Kindly make use of alternative route as trailer loaded with iron scrap blocks the express at felele bypass few metres from shoka bridge. The tailer break fails while accending the hill part of the road, causing heavy traffic. A young man hanging on the trailer escape unhurt while the other two got injured. Road user heading towards lagos should find there way through town to challenge and make use of the interchange to boycott the traffic. Kudos to a military officer who is directly the traffic and cautioning the Micra drivers.

Politics / Sowore And The Ile Ife Palace: A Shift In The Offing. (akin Rimson) by Hoogee(m): 11:54am On Sep 16, 2018 |
SOWORE and the ILE IFE PALACE: A shift in the offing. Opinions, suggestions, comments and ideas are rife. They are flying left, right and centre in respect of what transpired at the palace of the highly respected Ooni of Ife during the visit of the popular face of the youth presidential aspirant of the AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS(AAC). AS controversial as the matter is... we certainly can't shy away from discussing it as it indeed represent a mileage in our national discourse as a cultural people. While a section of the populace sees it as a taboo to complain of maltreatment or debasement once a KING is involved, A section of the Nigerian people held on to the belief that we MUST all be answerable for our CORNER SPACE if truely Nigeria must succeed irrespective of our position of authority. In all fairness, the position of a king is not only an epitome of cultural heritage but one that deserves the necessary respect. Some says the respect for the thrones in Africa is "total and absolute without question asked and no answer provided" ...and that's where SOWORE went wrong for daring to ask questions as to why nobody attended to him and his "take it back team" for an incredible four hours. How dare you to protest your perceived ill treatment?....we don't ask questions here....we accept all conditions as ditched out by the royal palace!....then the tear gas went off as a punishment for TEAM SOWORE just almost immediately they completed the symbolic prostration of greeting the KING. Well, this is 21st century and no one is an arbiter of common Sense all alone....this is why the "Yoruba would say OMODE gbon, AGBA gbon ohun ni a fi da Ile Ife! " ...This literally translate that: Ile Ife ONLY SUCCEEDED in its trying Time because the wisdom of both YOUNG & OLD was tapped into! ....so, after all ...the YOUTHS ain't dumb as the current set of Nigerian elders who held our destinies by the jungular would have us believe. In my so journey through the realities of our dying nation,I have had the opportunity of being at the Ooni's palace in my days as an undergraduate at the Obafemi Awolowo University located in that sprawling ancient city. Although, this was in the era of the then OBA SIJUADE...but I want to believe that the protocols couldn't have changed so much such that the litany of work force/members of staff of the palace had no single person to attend to a presidential aspirant who wasn't there without the initial palace approval of his visit. We all have our worries, the same way a die hard fan of the palace would feel that no one ask questions in the palace...so also will a non palace fan would want to know if the Ooni would dare keep Bola Tinubu for four hours without explanation... remember that Tinubu isn't even contesting, would the king also keep a contesting Atiku,Saraki,Buhari for four hours without an explanation... not even one from a palace guard? Not all Nigerian believe in the palace politics and that's the truth because they would argue that the slave trade succeeded mostly because some KINGS were trade partners with the slave masters. While the AFRICAN KINGS were selling their subjects...the Europeans where buying...what has changed?.... nothing! Because fast forward to political era ...while Abacha/Obj/Tinubu/Ibori was willing to deposit our destinies...SWISS BANK is ever ready to ACCEPT. All said and done, our opinions will always be biased depending on which angle you want to look at it from. But looking at it from OMOYELE SOWORE's angle....he had said he's not coming to play the conventional politics that we are all used to and those of us following him knew this already that's why we bought into it. He said that he was coming to play DISRUPTIVE POLITICS....a politics that ask questions and rejected all unfavorable conditions at ALL TIMES. A politics that answer questions and give explanation to all AT ALL TIMES. So,if he had not deviated from his style of disruptive politics then there would be no need to crucify the ONLY REALISTIC presidential aspirant on board 2019. I understand those who feel he is arrogant for never being scared to call out anyone, but then that's what you chose to see in that package of disruptive politics. If you ask me and the millions of youths whose destinies has been tampered with by those in authorities...we will tell you that the REAL ARROGANCE is not in SOWORE...we will tell you that it is in *A DAVID MARK who had all the privileges as an army general ...he didn't change Nigeria,he had all the privileges as a Senate president ...he didn't change Nigeria ...now he wants to be president in 2019 after supervising the kidnapping of our dreams and glories of Nigerians. *The real arrogance is in a BUHARI who was the governor of the then North east,he was busy then promoting clannishness, illiteracy, religion fanaticism while his mates were promoting merit and education...the result is the current north east infested with Boko Haram, mass illiteracy, terrorism and a global roll of honor as the most backward place on Earth...the same thing he's currently repeating and yet he wants to be president in 2019! *The real arrogance is found in Saraki who's father gave a befitting education as a former Senate leader ...even though his family supervised the looting of a whole bank to death,he wasn't satisfied but still went on as a two time governor and a Senate president....now he wants to be president in 2019....did he change Kwara state? ...the list is endless irrespective of their party. All Nigerian past and present rulers are the NATIONAL PROBLEM of NIGERIA. The former governors are no exceptions. But I can understand that our self esteems has been so battered that we no longer believe in our ability to say NO!.... it's now a culture to defend our oppressors! You will see a grown up man with an M.SC saying what has SOWORE achieve in life to qualify him into presidency? ...yet he's quick to defend a present president whose only achievement outside government feeding bottle is 150pcs of sterile cows in the name of farming. Insanity isn't far from everyone I meet on the street daily in Nigeria except something drastic is done. Challenging the status quo is not a tea party,if Sowore isn't doing it well...you can better advise than condemn ...these are two different things, such words as,'he has lost my vote or my support on this palace disrespect' ....he has lost my vote/support because he seems arrogant becomes a condemnation rather than advise if truely you want a shift from this present and past criminals who cannot even manage ordinary TRAFFIC in and out of Apapa sea port talkless of generating a single megawatt. ...And in all honesty, have u ever been respected before? By who? ...the goal post had shifted for 58yrs ... that's why cattles are more important than you in 2019.so where's the respect? ....I beg park well. If we don't take the country forcefully from the real arrogant goons...they would rather hand over to a foreign coach once they are Belle ful.... Remember that's not a novelty...we do it in football, they will one day say it's the next option ...we will only find one clean English to polish it so that it won't look recolonization. Julius Malema of the EFF in South Africa didn't hide his character and mission and only those who want expropriation of land without compensation are on board because they believe that since the land was forcefully taken from the black south Africans by the invading whites...it should also be returned now WITHOUT compensating the white guys for loosing it. The likely cause is inadequate bond between the bricks and the sand-cement mixture used for the plastering cause by poor ratio. obaataaokpaewu: 4 Likes 1 Share |

SolutionMee:I get your point on the humanitarian services, the question now is how many nigerians live above the average level who can team up to afford this kind of project, getting their wealth legitmately. Very vey few, which their input will be insignificant. Nigerians clamour on the government always because social infrastructure is part of their primary aim and nigerians are been taxed and levied everyday meanwhile the development is not relatively proportional. For instance, on average in the south western state which am sure of,taxi drivers gets daily ticket on the minimum of #1,200 ,bike #300, tricycle #1,000, this money run in millions.paying them back with poor infrastructure. You see their union excos living extravagant life, you wonder if they remit to the government purse. I personally took time to make enquiries from drivers, bikers, road transport unions, only to discover that the union pay huge returns to the government but not sincerely. Its all shady and sharing between the union and some government personnel, thats why you see some government of the day having interest in who heads the union. Of all this drama,we the masses are at the recieving end. |

The ondo state government has commence work few days after their attention was drawn to the colapse bridge along Oba akoko - ikun- afo-idoani road. I commend the ondo state government for the response not because they are doing their job but because they have a listening ear. Politics / Awaiting Disaster If Oyo State Government Fails To Take Action by Hoogee(m): 8:01am On Sep 10, 2018 |
After two and half hours of rain yesterday sunday 9th of September 2018, the bridge before tipa garage on the akala express dual carriageway (new garage - Elebu road) in ibadan was filled to the brim and many surrounding house which are close or most likely to be on the river banks were submerged. I call on the commissioner for works for the state to look into an immediate future plan of periodic opening up of the waterways and expansion of this bridge, if yesterday rain fell for six hours, residents and commuters will be trapped and the fear of the bridge being washed away because of the constant water pressure, the abutment wing wall and embankment being expose i think pose a treat. We do not need to wait until the damage is done before action is taken. Also along the same axis just before richbam filling station after ire akari estate, water is eating up the drainage gradually and the gradual collapse of the road is noticeable. As a citizen have done my part by paying my tax and calling your attention to it , please do your part hon commissioner by taking necessary steps. Finally nairaland do your part by pushing this to the front page, so that someone who can get the message to the appropriate quarters can see this. God bless nigeria
