patrickmuf:ain't mad at you bro. |
funlord:Unfortunately perspective is very near yet so far. One bad performance rubbishes every good one done. More so in a tie that even at the peak of our powers, we never had it easy. When we were blasting away sides people thought it would last forever. And when we have a bad game and win, it' is still not enough for some. I personally hate Mourinho's guts, but to deny that he gets the job done is being disingenuous. His resume speaks for itself. The earlier we realize that we are in the Jose era, the better for us all. Shikena. |
funlord:It's not hard to see that some folks are just typing for the sake of it. They now even lump it together with games we won. Even when we put 4 goals past opposition while not playing well. I thought the result is what mattered the most. apparently, sexy football is also needed. If that's the case then they should not hold their breath, because Jose will go to anti-football tactics to win if need be. Nostradamuses here have seen the downfall of the side. No one is talking of the fact that we've only conceded two goals all season long in the league. All is just wailing galore. No improvement anywhere. I just tire. |
patrickmuf:So in 26 years + of Fergie time at Old Trafford, you are saying that he was only able to play defensive just ONCE, against Barcelona in 2008? and the two times he subsequently faced the same Barca and went gung-ho against them, what was the result? Oga, you're entitled to your opinion. Go and check your history books and see how many times Fergie dominated Liverpool at Anfield, even in their sh1ttiest periods and come back and tell us. All I'm saying is that bringing the cost of players now vs. 10 years ago, even 5 years ago, is not a fair argument to make. Glazers or not. You know that the transfer market is way over-inflated theses days, and as such expecting to get a decent player in the realm of those days prices is unrealistic. Plus your assertion isn't totally true. Fergie trusted the likes of O' Shea, but it didn't stop him from buying Jones (another multi-faceted player) when he saw the need. So it's not like Fergie couldn't spend if he wanted to. you can make your argument against parking the bus, but please don't compare prices then and now and use as appoint to argue with. that's all I'm saying. |
eph12:choose how you want to define yourself. Don't apply it to me. I didn't label you as a glory hunter. I only inferred that we need to realize it's Jose time and we should expect performances like that from time to time. You quoted me with reference to my comments on our performances vs Liverpool. That's all I know. So I responded to you indefence of what I already wrote. |
adisaaowala:Fair enough. My case is that Liverpool at Anfield is an extremely difficult tie. Has always been, will always be.I said that a week before that game. How we approach the game from a tactical view point is another matter entirely, because to me, at the end of the day, it's the result that matters in the end. |
eph12:Oga, you're trying to be clever by half. So who were you referring to about the "raising their performances"? 3SC? |
patrickmuf:That is debatable, given that it hasn't always been smooth sailing, even during the Fergie era. It's not right to bring up price comparisons especially when the time line is as diverse as a decade ago. It's like comparing the prices of goods in 2007 to now. You know you won't make any ground with that argument. |
patrickmuf:disingenuous at best. Firstly, Fergie had Rio Ferdinand (2nd costliest player in England at that time) and Wayne Rooney, both around 30 million pound players each. Secondly, making references to an era where transfer fees were still reasonable as against now is not a fair argument. If Lukaku was available in 2007, would Fergie pay 75 million (excluding add-ons) for him? Perspective abeg. |
eph12:Oga I'm not going to answer that question. Especially since you didn't seem to get the context of my argument about us regularly struggling against Liverpool AT ANFIELD. If you have been paying any attention, you would know that most of us folks have resigned ourselves to the fate that we would get performances like this under Jose. I'm pretty sure you cried when we got skewered by Chelsea last season. I repeat, we all need to move on from the Fergie era, where we mostly played swashbuckling attacking football. If you love the club, this unnecessary nit picking at performances wont be necessary, especially since we HAVENT LOST any game yet. I made the case for Liverpool because under the circumstances, that point was a good one, regardless of the performance. And if you want. keep critiquing the performances, it won't change till he leaves. We won vs Southampton, the players were off in the second half. We won vs Everton, scored four despite poor play. Jose bungled the Stoke game with his formation, hence the poor performance, but you sound like we lost all those games in question. It seems you would rather have an expansive game and lose/draw like last season when we were copping draws all over the place. I don't understand these fans of today. I thought the result was the most important in football. |
MikaelsonRx:And who made you the judge of that? Because she fulfills your nasty desires, she should be excused for general nudity and having no apparent talent except flaunting her breasts, she is good? Where I'm form we still have codes for decent behavior. If you've lost yours, you need to shut up, face your front and leave me with my opinions, because no one asked you to comment on mine. Thank you |
I Swear this generation is doomed if this hoebag is just 33. |
Elxandre:Let me get this straight. By inference, Jose's side of2017 is better than Fergie's side of 2007 and as such shouldn't defend against a rival that will always up their game even as rubbish as they've been. Please clarify that part for me. Then maybe I'll understand your argument better. Because if your answer is honestly yes, then I'll understand your point. But if your answer is no, then let's forget about this argument and move forward. Bros don't be fooled by Benitez's European exploits. That team of his was useless. Cup team extraordinaire. Wastemen like Babbel and some non-description Spainards full there. Only Gerard and a few were actually decent enough players. But as soon as United come visiting, they become something else. That has been Liverpool over the years. |
Liverpool once rallied from three down at Anfield against us with a sh1ttier team than ours. Under Fergie. Let that sink in. Those who don't know the history of this fixture think that our overall success in the premier league era translates to three points automatically at Anfield. Even when we win we tend to look somewhat fortunate in coming away with victory. Jamie Carragher once score TWO own goals in a 3-2 win. Under Fergie. Jerzy Dudek gifted Diego Forlan a late winner with a goalkeeping howler. Under Fergie. Just saying. |
Neymar1095:We have heard you. Now go and be useful to someone/something for once in your life. At least prove that the effort of your father in depositing the sem€n that brought you forth as well as your mother who carried you for 65 months in her rectum was worth it,for once. |
CapitalCee:I referenced that Liverpool game earlier. That goal was from our only attempt at goal if my memory is correct. In stoppage time. BBC called that game a "smash and grab". Trust me we were sh1tthat day. Yesterday we were without some key players. At a ground where we normally struggle even when we win. Even in 07/08 when Tevez scored the winner from another set piece, they outplayed us with Ronaldo,Rooney and co.For goodness sake, I think some of us are overreacting again. I'm no proponent of defensive play but really expecting three points at Anfield is usually a bonus. We have hardly been dominant over there. Even a few seasons ago, when Gerard got sent off, they still rallied to reduce the deficit while short of a man Please let's bury the angst. As much as I'm no fan of Jose, the reality is that he is his own coach/manager. For those Eulogizing Fergie (with good reason I must add),he's been gone for four years, and by now we should know what we signed up for in Jose. I'm not excusing the displays but the harsh reality is that we should expect more of the same for a time to come as long as he's in charge cus he's never going to change a pattern that has worked for him over the years.Notfor me, you, fans, management or anybody. |
Leyqute:I read a portion here posted by joeace2020. I could almost say I farted while laughing. Some of the references were so insane. |
sodiq, Don't even bother to respond. At least you managed to keep your post short without using the words "Scummie" and "lunatic" and without also making your customary grammatical blunders. You're improving. The war to redeem you from imbec1lity is going to belong but worth it. |
Leyqute:Lol. I agree. I was watching the Unitedgame in a lounge where the usual agbero shekpite fans were majority. I just quiet carry myself dey go. When it was their turn, na so I come dey bold dey tab. One white guy from Ireland come call Conte the Italian Mark Hughes. I no fit die wit laff. See as dem curse Willian Hazard Batshuayi. Me sef I follow join. Na de white man yab tire pass me. |
Dantedasz:Glad you see it this way. I'm not surprised at the performance. In truth it isn't too far from our recent displays there. Jose is only unfortunate to be linked with defensive play but we've had worse performances there. We won 1-nil with a John O'Shea winner in stoppage time off a rebound from a Ronaldo free kick, but prior to that Liverpool ripped us to shreds that day. 2006/07 I think. When you lose to opposition like Palace, you tend to gain a whole new appreciation for perspective on little things. |
Lana1:Ignore the Arsenal own. Their uselessness is ancestral. That is why sod09 (sodiq) cannot type more than two sentences per post and will always manage to call "scummies" while making gaffes all in one fell swoop. That thread is as desolate as the wastelands of the Jewish wilderness. Na Shekpe Fc aka Pangolo FC (the one man team) get the true action. Sinizia is on lockdown on that thread ably assisted by Leyqute, Odunharry and co. |
hoopLA:Watford2 Arsenal 1 Now let that slowpoke come and troll United. It's not difficult to predict Arsenal games. The collective average IQ of an Arsenal fan is 15. You cannot be an Arsenal fan and be intelligent. We see these things everyday. Just like that Sodiq and cocaine-imb€cile. Waiting for them to come here and troll. The coward that Cocain-imbec1le iswont let him show its ugly face here for months. |
