I had 3m in my account with cash flow of about 10m within the space of three months. However, I had some deposits within this period that are more than my salary. I have two other accounts that I could have used but I thought 3m balance is ok for the application.
Sorry about the outcome of your application. Did you give clarity on the inflow and outflow of cash from the account in writing alongside your application? Also, what type of visa did you apply for?

You send to the provided email address.
The process has been revised, you now have a link on the website through which you can upload the documents after completing the application.

You did the right thing by reaching out to your school as the school is your best bet to quickly get it resolved. Your school has contacted the embassy also which means they will take your application more serious now. Having a number to call personally doesn't seem efficient with the SA embassy given the experiences people have shared on this thread.

funshobabs:
Guys please what can I do?. My study visa application will be 5 months in few days time. I sent a mail to my school informing them about the delays, got a reply that my case has been forwarded to the embassy. I'm getting impatient. Please can I get a number to call. All the ones I have isn't going through. Got them on their website.

Good evening everyone.

Quick one please, if I am resident in another country with my wife legally (study visa for myself and spousal for my wife) and she got admission to an institution UK, can we apply for her study visa (myself as her dependant) to UK directly from this country while using a POF from a Nigerian bank?

Thank you for the anticipated response.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hopcious: 12:20pm On Jul 27, 2021
It is better you make the normal application submission at VFS Lagos office as soon as possible. There is no certain process to expedite the visa presently (to the best of my knowledge). From the thread of happenings, the visa comes out in 2-3months of submission.

pimper24:
Thanks once again. I was offered GRA an mandated to resume by October or else forfeit same

I am therefore seeking an expedited process for my visa but hasn't had any lead so far.

Anyone that has a solution should be advice .
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hopcious: 11:05pm On Jul 21, 2021
I haven't seen anyone that did the appeal to ascertain the viability of the process. I once made a request about how it is done at VFS and I got this response

"Dear Applicant,
Kindly note that you can send an Appeal letter, to the consular via info.zang@vfshelpline.com. Then we would forward it to the embassy."

This process seems flawed to me as there are no official means of tracking your appeal and you don't have a specific timeframe for their response. Hence, most people usually advise that resubmission is the best option.
Concerning the money in your other account, I'd advise you to use the statement for both accounts. No need to transfer from one account to the other.

I hope this helps.

klexyl:
Thank you for your response, I applied on the 18th may and got my passport back on the 16th of July. please can you put me through on the process of appealing as I already spoke with my supervisor and she sent the letter indicating the exalt amount .
Money for the flight ticket and other expenses is on my other account, I don't want to move it to the main account so it does not look suspicious.
Is it also ok if I move the money now when appealing?
How long does it take to get a response as time is running out already, which is why i don't want to reapply.. Thanks
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hopcious: 8:44pm On Jul 21, 2021
What was the balance on the account you submitted for the application? The funds to be provided by your supervisor is expected to be for your tuition, accommodation and maybe some stipends for personal upkeep. If the balance in the account doesn't indicate that it will be sufficient to cater for your flight, medical aid and probably some extra for personal upkeep, the embassy might flag it as insufficient balance. Also, did your supervisor indicate the total value of the funds attached to your study? If no, I think it needs to be stated as the total value will give the embassy an idea of how you will be catered for during your stay in the republic.

If you don't mind sharing, when did you make your application submission and when did you receive this outcome?

klexyl:
please, they denied my study visa application yesterday and the only reason is insufficient fund for the trip, however it was suppose to be a fully funded programme which was stated clearly on the letter by my supervisor. I want to appeal the decision as I can't afford to reapply because of time. please what are the processes to go through when appealing. thanks in anticipation.

Guys I am really new here and haven't got time to trace the related information I need that might have been dealt with.
Please I am seeking information for the requirement for South Africa student visa.
Also anyone with link to affordable and acceptable SA health insurance should pls link me.

Thanks
I'd advise you check Momentum medical aid option for international students. It's what most international students use https://www.ingwehealth.co.za/default.aspx?xGX7Y5WBkjkhnMyLgpeMOL9MZ93qkKX2

Please i would like information on how to obtain a police clearance certificate from South Africa. I’m no longer in South Africa but I need a pcc.

Thank you.
If you are around Lagos or Abuja, go to the SA Consulate to get your fingerprints taken. They will use the SAPS fingerprint form. However, it is not necessary to travel to Lagos or Abuja for this purpose if you do not stay there. You can get your fingerprint from your normal police station in Nigeria. SAPS will still honour it.

Once you get your prints, send it to someone in SA physically (not scanned copy). This can be via courier or someone travelling to SA. The person here then takes it to a police station, pays the necessary amount and they process it.

You should also be advised, SA Police Clearance is now taking quite some time to be processed, so be patient. However, please ask the person that is taking it to the police station for the mobile number (s)he used in submitting it. SA Police will send an SMS with the application ID once it is in their system. You will need the ID to track your application online. They will also send an SMS to the same number once the application is ready to be collected.

I hope this helps you.

Guys Lionessza6 is savage o and very good at articulating her points.
Just allow her be in her lane smiley
It's actually not about being a savage, it is about being objective in your views and opinion about others. Most of the Nigerians making negative comments about how SAns do commit the fallacy of hasty generalisation which they do not want non-Nigerians to use on them also (by saying all Nigerians are fraudsters). Just because a percentage of the populace is doing something wrong does not justify you concluding that the whole populace is bad.

People can go on to say there are SAns who commit crimes on daily basis or have xenophobic tendencies but that does not equally project all SAns to be like that. The same goes for Nigerians both home and abroad. We all need to get to that point where we don't generalise based on our myopic view of the people of a country. These are the things that divide us as Africans and like a South African saying in Tshivenda that “Muthu ndi muthu mga vhanwe vhathu” and in Sepedi as "Motho ke Motho ka Batho Babang" translated literally as "A person is a person because of others". If you can generalise because of the crimes of some people, you should be able to generalise also because of the good of some people.

Geenosko:
Not really.

I schooled at another top institution in South Africa.
The research output was mine. I only had institutional affiliation.
It's all right then.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hopcious: 10:39am On Jun 26, 2021
Geenosko:
Have it at the back of your mind that what research output you produce while studying there belongs to the institution.
That's the norm for an academic institution. Your research output, while you are a student of the institution, is owned by the institution even as a lecturer. It's in the agreement form you signed during registration.

Maybe because most Nigerian institutions don't care about your research publications so much, they overlooked it in any of the discussions surrounding the agreement between the staff/students of the institution.

Okay thanks a lot for efforts sir.
I just spoke to my relative on this and she said VFS is only for those who already have their visa and wants to renew it, that it's not a place for those seeking to make fresh application for a new visa
That's not true. VFS handles every form of South African visa applications be it new application or renewal. You should click on the link that was posted earlier and read through the website yourself.

Thanks for your response. All documents were intact. The reason stated for denial was there wasn’t proof between the host and myself. Meanwhile it was his uncle who has a PR that sent the invite before we got married. Now we are married, I want to know if his current status (business permit) can allow him send me an invite.
I know Spousal visa is doable but I am not sure it is granted to business permit holders. The information on DHA website reads thus

South African visitors’ visas may be granted for:

visits to family or friends and also for tourism purposes
business purposes
spouse to join a spouse who is in South Africa on a work or study visas
children to join parents who are in South Africa on work or study visas

study purposes
charitable or voluntary activities
research
conferences
to work in the production of a movie or show (i.e. in the entertainment industry)
or medical purposes, when a patient needs to receive life saving treatment. (max stay 3-months)
sport events

Good day everyone. Please I’ll need suggestions/advice.
I applied for a visitors visa in March before I got married, but my visa took long before it got back. My spouse came back a month later and we got married. We waited almost a month, and the passport wasn’t still sent back. He had to go back, hoping I’d get my passport back with visa in it. Sadly I was denied after 2 months of waiting.

Now I want to reapply. we have been joined legally, he’s on a business permit. What type of visa should I apply for and what are the requirements ?please I would really appreciate if I’m being attended to. Thanks.
Sorry to hear about your situation. I can relate as I had similar experience with my partner.

If I may ask, what was the reason(s) stated for the rejection? If these reasons are addressed, then you stand a chance of getting your visa approved when you reapply.

Guys I have been offered admission but told that I need to have a proposal approved within a year.
The rest of instructions are about payment of part tuition.
Pls what next need I do? Work with my supervisor virtually or apply for Visa? The man is not really answering those questions
You should start your visa application process. Even though you are allowed to study virtually at the moment, it is better to have your visa ready. Most supervisors are more motivated to work with you when they know you are around physically which is an indication that you are available to study full-time.

Congratulations. Did you apply at the Lagos office? and also when did you receive an email from VFS that the visa has been received from the embassy?

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hopcious: 9:08am On May 27, 2021
Quick one please...

If someone was rejected in an initial visa application, is it required that the person must attach a copy of the rejection letter for subsequent visa application? Or stating it on the application form alone is enough?

Don1985:
The outcome of the first application that was denied should be treated while applying for the second application and u don't even know what was the first rejection was about,I think you used different Agent and the documents they used contradict as well on SA database... I don't think you tick that you have been refused visa before while filling the application form in order to come out clean for the causes of the first rejection... Using agents for application is risky... I have been in the same shoes as yours which I regretted...

Wow!!! Congratulations to you. It was indeed worth the wait. Could you spare some minutes to share some information on the amount in the bank statement you submitted for the application and what type of visa your husband has?

So finally.....we got our visas this afternoon. We applied for relative visa (myself and two children) on 7th December 2020...the processing took four months. Whew! Thank God it was worth the wait.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hopcious: 5:51pm On Mar 31, 2021
I'd advise you to reapply after 2-3months. Your husband should include an employment offer letter that he was given where he is earning monthly also as long as his salary is reflecting in the bank statement you will be submitting.

Nikky1759:
Thanks @ hopicious and thanks @oluayebenz
He is a salary earner but also earn on a daily basis he has been there for the past 17years

So how soon do you think i can reapply and what are the document i should submit along with my son
And should i indicate that i was denied due to insufficient fund like presh instructed?

Your advice will be appreciated
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by hopcious: 7:11am On Mar 31, 2021
So sorry for the denial. I will suggest you reapply. However, is your husband a student with Bursary funding or he's doing a paid job with a critical skills visa or a businessman? The answer to this question will give an insight into when you should reapply and which document you need to add to backup your application.
Nikky1759:
Hello house Goodevening please i submitted my application to the vfs on 10th february for a short visit with my 6 month old son to visit his dad in durban but i got my passport from the UPs today and i was denied due to insufficient fund for the trip despite my husband has 19000 rand in his account.
