Egbeshine and my humbleself wrote d same tin at the same time, u guys shuld jst go and relax.

@all: did u guys see the first admision list at all? Didn't u c dat very few pple were admited against last yr many admitd candidates in d 1st batch. Eg Eco that hav d capacity of 85 admitd 25, Law a whole faculty admitd 35 or thereabout, MBBS, elect elect, vet, sociology 11 or so wich curently has 89 100levels. So many pple will be admitd 4rm C O C, Spplmtary and posibly 2nd choice.
Pls note dat ui do admit 2nd choice candidates than other unis, i no quite a no of 2nd choice admitd last yr, u ave edge if u score is reasonable.
There is no doubt that they bend the cutoff for sum dept as few pple were shortlistd 2 write d pume into such dept eg Education/social science only 1 person.
U may b surprised later 2 discover dat first choice candidates who scored reasonable marks and change their course and does dat didn't change may be given their initial course applied for due to non advertisement of courses lyk law, mbbs, eco, pharmacy etc.

@telz: that's true, they chosed few pple 4rm d change of course last year, bt that shd change dis year cos few pple are admited in the first batch list.

@andrew: there is stil hope based on the fact dat u scored mor dan 50, and do u knw ur rank?

@justice: if u remember the supplementary list is for 1st choice candidates dat were unable 2 submit deir biodata b4 d closing date due to fluctuation of the portal. They may be given priority due to the fact dat they were denied the right 2 write d exam alongside the first choice candidates which they are part of, 2: they are also denied the opportunity of changing their course as first candidates who scored mor dan 50 changed theirs. Well scoring more than them is an added advantage.

@andrew: i dnt know d exact no of people admitted bt b4 now, ui does nt admit up to 100 pple in such dept, pls dnt be scared things may change dis year and thank God u scored more than 50.

@telz: we folowed the calendar but not religiously as there were sum unavoidable interruption eg we supposed 2 start our 2nd sem. Exam on aug 29, bt was shifted because of the first pume and stuffs lyk dat.morova i learnt convocation ceremony is slated for nov 14-16 bt nt sure. If u're nt convinced wit d aforementioned reasons, then time wil tel.
Concerning ma whereabout, i decided 2 bow out of dis thread due 2 sum pple's impatience and blind arguments on sum issues bt i do read u guys posts everyday and sum of u who av ma no do call for clarification on sum issues.

Admission into ui this year has been/is the toughest so far.
I beseech you guys that just wrote the last pume especially change of course candidates to be more prayerful. Bear in mind that Candidates who scored reasonable mark in the first pume and changed their course to yours are likely to be considered ahead of you, inclusive of the first choice supplementary and the second choice candidates. but be rest assured that with God all things are possible.
Where did you guys heard that their will be a 3rd list? I doubt this!
Ui cannot resume this year though the school calendar stated nov 14, it would ave been possible but the strikes did not make the calendar work as we just recently finished the 2nd semester exam, moreso, ASUU is threatning an indefinite strike if the meeting with the FG on NOV 22 ended in a deadlock. But freshers will do their clearance, medical tests etc this year possibly nov/dec.
Be hopefull and prayerful as things may work out in your favour.

Truly the system denies sum able people admision, bt as u ave said-the grace and favor of God counts as i also enjoyed it cos ma points were not up 2d merit point and i was shortlistd and eventualy got admittd.
You guys should jst knw dat the senate wud have considered the merits and demerits of this systm b4 adopting it as ui is nt 4 a mediocre!
@all the first choice supplementary is nt d same as change of course, it is 4 dose that were unable 2 submit their biodata due 2 lateness in the delivery of their pins to their emails b4 d closing date. If u have prob regarding dis pls mail the ict centre {uiadmin2011@ui.edu.ng}. Change of course wil come up later after considering second choice.

@larrysman: I quite understand your arguments and its also a good one, actualy this is the first time in the history of ui where applicants were subjected to written test other than the interactive session, i must confess to the best of my knwledge, this system adopted is faulty to some extent cos it does nt allow equity.
To the issue of those who got their result through back doors, {this ought not 2b discusd here bt its nw important 2let u guys knw} ui has a policy, admisions are gven based on d no of As and Bs but if at the end of the session one did nt pass sum courses or fail 2meet up wit the required units espected such person would be tsunamized i.e sent packing from ui.

@dazzie: U won't be asked 2 pay another fee, u wil change ur course with the username and pin given u earlier. Info and instruction on hw 2 go abt it wil be released by the school later.

i wil urge u guys 2 pls kip calm and hoping, i'm very sure dey ar working on the stuff. Normaly ui dont announce it wil release any list, jst count ursef lucky 2be informed. Quite sure the list wil be out 2nyt or early 2mao.

@omokayo: the locality consist of states in the south-west.

@willy: emails ar normaly written in small letters, so ur email addres and ur name has already being programd nd can't be changed. As per ur point, sociology merit cutoff was 67 last year bt i tink locality cutof was 50+ so u stil ave a chance being admitd since u fal within the locality.

@ife-wise &co: we'rd nt saying u're doing or planing 2 do runs, we are only trying 2 warn u behand cos we knw what goes on here, ok take 4 example, wen i was shortlistd 4d interactiv sesion, a day 2d interactiv sesion. a non teaching staf acosted me askd me if i wud be pleasd if he runs ma admision 4me i said yes he tod me 2pay 10k i afta ma admision bt i refused bt wen on nd do d tin nd waz admitd. Jst bcareful!

This issue of runs or no runs in ui i tink has 2 do wit d person first meeting d required cut off den shortlistd 4d interactiv sesion, runs wil den help if he fumble at d interativ stage only if h/s is somehw conetd 2 d hod or any member of d admision comite of dept, i knw of an hod daughter curently in ma faculty she went thru d same proces as we did only dat we dnt knw if u fumbled at interativ session.
And u guys shud b careful wen ure eventualy shortlistd, cos sum guys on campus wil tel u dat u shd pay certain amont dat dey runs it 4u if u perhaps fumble at interactiv, i.e they wil promise u admision wit u paying dem nd den return ur mony if u re nt admitd, a frnd fell victim of dis, he paid d guy and at interactive sesion d frnd scord 4/5 wich a guarante 4 admision, d mony he paid was unretrievable whearas he he got d admision thru his hardwork.

I tink d reason 4dis new stuf is dat ui has large no of aplicants dan b4, so dey want 2use cbt cos dats one of d easiest way of reducing applicant cos most pple almost 80% do pas interactive sesion. A reason d lecturer gave was dat 4 fed govt has given dem d specific no 2 admit dis year wich is lower 2last year i also tink ui is trying 2generate mor money cos last year login fee was 1k. moreso, we now ave a new vc who i tink is very principled nd unyielding maybe dat idea orignatd 4rm him even we stdents ar nt finding it easy wit hm at all, he has put us al our toes due 2 d recent adjustment of d sku calenda.
