chronique: this is where you guys all get it wrong. we all know govt has failed us and no one can dispute that. but then,do we stay the way we are because govt has failed us? if the church has the finances to carry out certain projects or step in and fill the gap that the govt has created,is that a bad idea? some people will criticize us for saying this but still come and burden us with requests for basic needs. but then, they can't go to the churches they are supporting, for help. does it make any sense? nobody is saying it is the job of the church todo the work of government but if the church has so much money to build such edifices,i wonder why they can't channel it into improving the lives of their members. we are not asking them to build roads or provide electricty. the average needs of the members are job creation. they can invest in projects that would sort that out. i'd rather have the church being involved in profitable businesses that yields returns and creates employment, than have them build large cathedrals with that money. On the contrary, pls. I want to put it to u, ARGUABLY, that Nigerian churches are among the most employers of labour today. Have u sat down to think of d numbers of higher institutions, secondary, primary and Pre primary schools owned by these churches, not to talk of media outfits, construction firms, book publishing houses and bookshops, cafeteria, pure water factories, winners Chapel alone has 2 standard universities in Nigeria. think of the thousands of people working in these industries. they don't work for free. they are paid good salaries. Hundreds of staff followed Redeemer's University from Mowe to Ede, it's becos d salary is good. They paid tax to government also. I know people around that are employees of church "industries". Adeboye had planned to construct a flyover at Mowe to reduce traffic on d expressway during their programmes, but FG didn't give approval. |

chronique: smh. nigerians and stupidity are like bread and butter. 100,000 capacity church auditorium when a good number of the members would be job seekers. why can't they spend the money in creating job opportunities for their members? 100,000 capacity church auditorium that will eventually be made up of so many job seekers. we keep building large auditoriums for worship in nigeria for jobless people to come and pray in,to ask God for needs that would have been met,if the church had channeled the money for large cathedral into such. imagine the amount of jobs that would have been created with the funds earmarked for this white elephant project. this is nigeria where most of the people who run religious organizations and our govts, actually don't have wisdom. every church wants to own large auditoriums like rccg, winners, christ embassy, mfm, deeper life, and the likes. it's now a competition. the whites who brought Christianity to us,do not run their churches like this. they don't go about spending money building gigantic cathedrals up and down. in a country where poverty is high, these sort of projects aren't what the church should be financing. God doesn't live in physical buildings;he lives in our hearts.
this sort of thing can only happen in a society where the government has failed. nigeria's population is growing rapidly and we are busy giving out lands to people to build churches instead of us to give these lands to private investors who are ready to invest hugely in the economy and create jobs. The way people like u comment make me think if u actually know d difference between church and government. You will be quick to accuse the church for not doing government responsibilities. How many jobs has Bubu that is collecting our tax provided in the last 3 years? |

According To Barack Obama These Are The 3 Questions You Should Ask Before Marrying Someone. After almost 26 years of marriage, former President Obama has become a trusted source for relationship advice for those around him. In his book “Yes We (Still) Can”, former Senior Advisor to the president Dan Pfeiffer shared the most invaluable words of wisdom on love he received from the ex-POTUS. The former president told Pfeiffer to ask himself three questions, which boil down to his basic principles for a successful partnership: 1. Is s/he someone you find interesting? (Because you will spend more time with this person than anyone else for the rest of your life...) 2. Does s/he make you laugh? 3. Will s/he be a good mom/dad? According to him, "life is long. These are the things that really matter over the long term." Source: https://www.boredpanda.com/love-relationship-advice-barack-obama/
