guobe: Giveaway that I did weeks ago is still having more people seeking for help. Alot of people have be bombarding and seeking for one or two assistance. I love helping people and My heart beats if I can't help. I think we can assist people that genuinely need help if we do it collectively. The economy is really in dire strait as the politicians don't care about us budgeting billions of naira fir themselves in the guys of wanting to buy office furniture and cars. Imagine ex Governors now senators that have Fleet of cars still demanding for more and also want money to buy chair for office running into billions. Nairaland has over 3 million people and with our joint effort we can make out something out of it. How do we help people in need ? I need help with laptop and someone to put me thru in learning data analysis..I just finished degree sir |

ramalot: You're unlikely to be hired by any established company as a Project Manager, without significant management experience.
Once again, you don't need a science background to learn data analysis. You just need to be capable of analytical thinking and good with normal use of a computer. Most basic aspects of data analysis happens in Microsoft Excel and for larger databases, you'll go into querying tools.
Take time out and research these things online, and watch informative YouTube videos. Thanks for the response the person that suggested about the product management said he's also tech, is also a data analyst working in Lagos, Nigeria but he's lamenting of not getting gig from Europe and others.. My opinion is that to go UK or any sane country to learn it cos I will be more frustrate learning it here cos of unstable electricity and I will need enough data subscription. |

ramalot: In general, yes. Data Analytics involves some programming, but it's typically surface level data querying. Except you're dealing with massive "big data," then it can get a bit complex. Either way, you'll need good deductive reasoning to do well at it.
Programming on the other hand, requires significant problem-solving skills and attention to detail. So even if you learn a programming language, but have poor attention to detail, you'll still struggle. The consequences of typos in code can be significant.
As far as income potential, a great Programmer would earn a lot more than a great Data Analyst, on average. A Data Scientist on the other hand can earn more than a programmer, or fall in the same range. Also, I use "programmer" loosely. All programming languages are valued different, so choose wisely.
There are a ton of resources online, so your own research on these things. Thanks for the response.. I discussed with a tech guy I know that I will like to learn data analysis from him and I told him I don't have science back ground but he suggested I should go for product management.. I don't know much about it.. can you tell me more about it and he said the product management be is also a tech |

ramalot: You don't really need a "science" background to get into tech. You just need average to above average IQ. Meaning, you need to have a problem-solving mental capacity.
Look into Data Analysis, Cybersecurity, UI/UX Design. If you want to challenge yourself more, look into learning programming languages, depending on what you want to use your skills to do. Thanks for the response. Is programming more advanced than Data analysis? I just want to know |

ramalot: I have gained some insights into different societies and cultures, by traveling far and wide. Not as a weekend tourist, but spending extended time in those places, and living an everyday life. Some of that information/experience might be useful to someone here. Brother which tech can you advise Young men to do for someone that doesn't have any science related background before.... Looking to hear from you soonest sir. Thanks in anticipation. |
Travel › Re: I Have Lived in (or Visited) over 30 Countries. Ask Me Almost Anything (+ Pics) by Hotty321(m): 8:18pm On Dec 25, 2022 |
ramalot: This thread is purely travel-related, not professional endeavors. However, the bold part is a problematic approach that causes many people to self-sabotage. Don't look for shortcuts and don't focus on quick gains. Focus on long-term skills and long-term outcomes.
I would recommend you take advantage of the numerous free resources online. If you want to go into the often lucrative field of programming, you can start with freecodecamp.org. It's free, and you'll be issued certificates. You can learn enough to land a Junior Developer job at a small startup.
If you want to go into Data Analysis, you can start with Google's official Data Analytics Certification on Coursera.org It can take you several months to complete, if you're not very focused. If you go all in, you can do it in 2 months. Coursera is $39.99/month. So $80 for 2 months. You'll be issued a Data Analyst certificate. If you actually learn the skill, and not just breeze through to pass (like many students do), you can apply to Junior Data Analyst job positions.
These things pay a decent enough wage to start out in Tech. There is also cybersecurity and other areas to look into. All the best. Thanks for the response..I terms of learning it..we youth find it hard to learn IT much on ourselves because of failure of electricity and to get steady data to be using is another problem that's why many of our mates in Europe and Americans stand out . However I still have it in mind to start from a programmer and as time goes I can move further plus I heard it's easier to get IT jobs than those in Africa...it is well with u baba ..more blessings coming ur ways this coming year |
