Kizzygentle:Annnnnd, Lesson number 102 on why some remain not only poor for their whole lives, but also pass on that poverty to their children, creating generational poverty. Some hear this story and take inspiration from it. They dust themselves off and decide to give it another go, because if even Femi Otedola lost it all and came close to suicide, but persevered and rebounded, then why not they? "Never give Up" is their takeaway. Then there are others, born to be poor for life, who tell him to shut up and let them soak their garri in peace. They have no aspirations, only bitterness, envy and bad belle for anyone who has done better than them. And they will pass that same mentality to their children, who will pass it on to their own children. And thus, you have the phenomenon called "Generational Poverty", a disease of the mind. |
Taylor92:Your mis-information is appalling. US Federal judges are appointed for life and have no mandatory retirement age, whether High Court judges, Appeals Court judges or Supreme Court judges. They retire when they want. However, many retire around 80 years old due to something called the rule of 80, which there is no need to explain here. The UK raised the retirement age for judges from 70 to 75 years in 2021. Federally appointed judges in Canada retire at the age of 75, while some provinces set the retirement age for their judges at 70. So as usual, some of you can only talk bad about your own country or government using false information about the "developed countries". Learn to do your research before posting to public forums. |
phemmyjohnson:That is a very self-hating way of putting things. The world is replete with examples of people holding on to power for as long as they can. It is not in any way unique to blacks. We neither invented it nor are we its greatest practitioners. Diane Feinstein has been a US Senator for31 years. Despite suffering from ill health and dementia and being urged to resign, she has refused to do so. The Senate and House of Representatives in the US are filled with people who have been there for decades and fight tooth and nail to get reelected every election. Donald trump has been US President once and is still fighting to get back there. Fidel Castro, who held power in Cuba for 57 YEARS, was not black. Putin, who has held power in Russia for 21 YEARS now, is not black. Gaddafi ruled Libya for 42 years, he's not black. Ali Khamenei has ruled Iran for 41 years, he's not black. The Kims that have ruled North Korea for 74 YEARS are not black. Chiang Kai Shek ruled first China, then Taiwan for 48 YEARS, he was not black. Antonio Salazar ruled Portugal for 36 YEARS, not black. Franco ruled Spain for 36 YEARS, not black. Josip Tito ruled Yugoslavia for 35 YEARS, not black. The list goes on and on, cutting across every race, religion and continent. Stop talking ill about your own race like other people's sh*t doesn't stink as bad or worse than ours. |

OriOko88:If you strip away all the mutual verbal abuse, what he is trying to communicate to you is that a subway system does not always make sense. Not all cities have them in what you term the "advanced world". Lagos is a low-lying coastal city with most of its coastline being at or below sea level. Digging underground tunnels that wouldn't flood and kill everyone in them would not be impossible, but would be incredibly complex and prohibitively expensive. Most other cities with such topography opt for an above ground metro system. It is simply more sensible. Secondly, we are all well aware that we are not an "advanced world" country. We cannot afford to build "advanced world" systems for the most part. According to travelstatsman.com, it would cost around $325 billion to build the equivalent of the London Underground today. If it were to be built in Lagos, it would cost at least twice that because we would have to import virtually all the materials and much of the expertise. Please, where would the whole of Nigeria, much less Lagos, find that kind of money? The Lagos metro is fit for purpose, and built within the limitations of topography and budget. Let us celebrate it and pray for more. |
Enddy50ty:So where would she have found Sanwo-Oul's sample to test? I hope you know how DNA testing works; you need a sample from the child and a sample from the purported father. |

You should know that the overwhelming majority of the structures you've shown are just CGI drawings. They exist only on paper and Nigerian architects are just as talented at drawing as anybody else. Many of these drawings are concepts; flights of fancy that would be difficult, if not impossible, to build with today's technology but which help to point to future directions that architecture might take. In that way, they are similar to the concept cars that auto manufacturers display at car shows. They are extremely fanciful and futuristic but when the production model eventually gets built, most of the fanciful features are gone. |

Good start bro, but in everything you do, attention to detail is extremely important. To get work, you are going to have to present your portfolio. Very few clients will feel confident enough in your attention to detail when you present these samples of your work and they see that you misspelled resurrection several times in your samples. Spellcheck is your friend bro. Only put your best foot forward when you are presenting your work to the public. Other than that, best of luck to you. The sky is the limit! |
ogascomax:No wahala. Continue to believe that. We just cremated a colleague last week who died from this. His last days were filled with pain and suffering as both lungs were destroyed by this virus and he struggled for oxygen daily. Many other colleagues in our workplace got it and endured varying degrees of suffering. His was the worst. I know so many people that have gotten this and more than a few that have died. I pray your ignorance and cynicism will not be your undoing. I f you end up in IDH and you need supplemental oxygen, your family will have to be the ones buying it as the government one is never enough. Every day running helter skelter looking for oxygen to buy. You just don't know what you are talking about sir. |

Even though I'm a born again Christian, I think you are suffering from spiritual attacks. We Christians tend to gamble more because our religion is very permissible and habours many bad acts unlike our Muslim brothers who are guided by the tenets of Islam.
