I would also like to mention that I had no contact whatsoever with anyone from the school. Not even for an interview. So you can imagine the shock. Now this is very insightful ... Thanks for sharing ... 8 years work experience (as in that's enough already talkless of the UK master degree with a 4/4) ... so most of us now know what it takes to get into PennState with full funding ... Let's keep announcing admits like this so we can tell which school matches our profile ... especially the young ones like US ... #MoneyCannotComeAndWaste edakun ... Thanks once again and i wish you all the best Ma |

234ng44uk: My intended course too. Did you complete any of your previous degrees in Materials Engineering? My first and second degrees were in Mechanical Engineering. I've not taken GRE yet, what's the hurry when Fall 2017 admission is near impossible? That's why I asked for her profile so it could save people like me and you from asking lots of questions: Undergrad course and GPA, MSc GPA, GRE (Verbal and Quant scores) TOEFL scores Work Experience Papers Published Date of application and decision date ... e.t.c Oya drhopeful do the needful ASAP ... I think admits should be announced like that to save time and stress ... these threads are not fun to read at all but we just have to do it and contribute in anyway we can. |

amanze15: schools Up there tend to be a bit too competitive for reasons known to them, but an outstanding profile should be good enough for you. just get in touch with a professor in charge of that research program which most interdisciplinary program seems to be it's no.1 on my list tho. thanks for the info ... I don't really get what you meant by "schools up there" |

generalfag: Greetings everyone, Please am interested in studying computer science (Undergraduate) in Germany. Have gone through the thread, and I must confess u guys are doing a great job, have gotten the skeletal structure of the whole procedure. Thanks
I have OND in computer science and have tried searching for schools, got a university in Ulm offering computer science and another university in Hamburg.
Have contacted the one in Ulm on Phone and was told they admit only for winter semester and application is currently closed.
My dilemma now is; the university in Ulm wants my documents assessed by studienkolleg, but the one in Hamburg uses Unii-assist, please I need more schools under studienkolleg or uniassist offering computer science at undergraduate level, I intend applying to as many schools as possible.
Thanks a lot Start from this website https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/en/You can tailor your search to computer science programs. |

Williamso: In other words, it is foolhardy to Base your admission quest on school rankings because as far as German public universities are concerned, they are all of high standard. I posted something once where a school was ranked as a "top school" because of the PhD programs but had not-too-impressive Master programs. These rankings are, for most of the time, meaningless. Also I have not heard of anyone being denied a job offer based on the person's Alma mater; all other things being equal.
Last bullet: Follow curricula, not rankings... Now that's what I call a positive feedback...Cool tho but I keep hearing that the city where one studies matter too... Thanks |

Williamso: I will not do that! Feel free to apply to only the 9 schools. Seems you're more after a school's reputation than the curriculum it has to offer. Good luck in your admissions.
And yes! The difference in quality is much. Schools outside the TU9 are more or less glorified secondary schools. I would reckon you go to AUN or Covenant, or even North American University than go to any school outside TU9. I don't get? That sounded rude you know But thanks for the info anyways...Cheers!!! |

Williamso: Please what's your definition of a "top school"? I'm actually referring to the engineering schools tho. The TU9s and other good Universities. Feel free to enlighten me on the quality other schools in germany also possess. I've leanrt that it is easier to get admitted into the "not too popular" Institutions compared to the popular ones. I would like to know if the difference in the quality ain't that much. I look forward to getting a MSc in communication engineering or Digital Humanities tho. |

Nnamdyjoe: Its kind of o, I applied since, yet to get a reply to one the universities, but still believing in God. Majority do not apply to the TU9 schools of which I don't know why. I plan on applying to the southern schools tho because of proximity to the tech companies and cities like Munich and Stuttgart. So @Nnamdyjoe which university did you apply to? |
