@ Loyika,

It seems u cannot bend your head around the fact that Hucarson is different from Jackie Boy. Another classic characteristic of a wounded Arsenal fan. Me calling u an idiot is not an insult. I was only stating a fact based on the twaddle you poured on the thread. I don't insult people, i correct them. If u don't know about corporate finance, then stop talking. In your scroll, u still made serious mistakes by insisting if Ronaldo wants to leave, he would leave!!!
Ronaldo's move is still subjected to the Glazers/David Gill/SAF agreeing to it. Cristiano alone cannot effect a move on his own-------relying on the ethics of the Glazers is a long shot. They don't have to bow down to Ronaldo's wishes-----------Team spirit or no team spirit, the Glazers can keep Ronaldo on the stands while he learns the true meaning of loyalty.

P.S. In Mikel Obi's case, if Ferguson didn't pity the Nigerian lad, his case would still be in logjam but in the end, Ferguson took pity on Mikel and flogged his ass to Chelsea.

Those of you that were clamoring for France to include there younger players saw how Patrice Evra went missing in such an important game.

Patrice Evra is 27(he doesn't qualify as a young player as he is more than 23). Secondly, Evra didn't go missing in the game. Malouda was the idiot that does not understand how to play in a full back in an attack. There were many incidents Evra fed the ball to Malouda and Evra ran into acres of space expecting a return pass from Malouda but Malouda chose the wrong option by running into a sea of orange shirts. U need to watch how Ronaldo and Evra combine together to launch attacks on the flank. Evra never stopped running last night but the plonker ahead of him is not an attack-minded player.

@ Loyika,

Having read your long scroll of piffle, i am deemed to say you are a numbskull. Chelsea richer than Man Utd? Are u a crack fiend? A club valued at 1.5 billion pounds is poorer than Chelsea that was bought for 88 million pounds? Somebody must be hurling tosh. Just because someone would pay stupid money to stupid players does not show they are rich. Finance is in the vaults not on the pitch, my dear friend. A club with an operating profit of 240 million pounds and the largest income will always be the richest club in the world. Someone needs to dust his corporate finances skills. How can bidding war be the measure of a club's wealth. Liverpool will outbid Arsenal for any player(Babel, Torres), does that mean Arsenal is poorer than them? You, sir is an idiot.

Now to Real Madrid, what is in the vaults will prove who is greater between the 2 clubs. You dare mention players?? Are u this daft. The club policies are different. Real Madrid thrive on bringing all the best players in the world together to form a team while Ferguson's philosophy has always been to draft young inexperienced players all over the world, work on their developments and turn them to great players. Looking at the 2 philosophies, it is obvious Real Madrid will spend more money getting finished products than Man Utd who work with raw materials. If that is the yardstick to determine who is greater then u have a poor sense of judgement.

Madrid attract huge home attendances of 71,500 every match day but took a relatively 55 million pounds gate receipts in 2007/8. Their takings pale by comparison, though, with the world-record £92.5 million paid at the Old Trafford gates. Arsenal, with the 60,000-seat Emirates Stadium, are not far behind with a season’s takings of £90.6 million, equivalent to an average of £3.1 million for each home match. Although Chelsea’s seating capacity is low by the standards of the leading clubs, their match-day takings are the third highest at £74.5 million. Only an idiot would compare Real Madrid(a club run by Spanish Govt) to Man Utd whose wealth surpasses more than 30 African countries.

True that, Holland's defence has not been put to the test yet, but it'll take a very solid team to do that and not get caught on the counter

Portugal will do that easily. With 3 strikers in Nani, Ronaldo and Quaresma Holland will be blown into dust. Where are all the French(Arsenal) supporters? The spirit u guys showed when the tournament kicked off is waning off. Gallas disappointed big time. He is very familiar with Robben and Van Persie so why did he stop tracking expecting Robben to cut back? It doesn't make any sense at all.

France should hire Arsene Wenger. He would have had a better tournament than Ray Domenech. France should flush out all their old bones. It's not working for the Frenchies at all. Benzema's price might plunge down to 2 million by the end of this competition. Mr Aulas must be kicking himself now. I hope Domenech doesn't catch a stray bullet.

Wetin concern Wenger and this match, its quite obvious that France's problem is Domenech's lack of balls

I agree with you. When France was a goal down, i expected Domenech to take the game to Holland. One thing about this Dutch team is their defence. If Ray Domenech had asked the Dutch defence questions, something might have paid off. I am not really convinced  Holland is solid defensively.  Domenech should have gone 4-3-3 but he allowed Van Basten to take that initiative first. From then on, it was only going to go one way and didn't Van Basten make Mr Domenech pay? Robben and Van Persie were outstanding.  Holland looks dodgy at the back, i want to see their character when they go one goal down.

When was the last time RVP won something meaningful? wink cheesy  Maybe Chelsea should have hired Van Basten. 7 goals against 2 teams that played in a world cup final. How much more can Marco Van Basten offer? They won it in 1988, they will win it again in 2008. They are now ma favourites to win.
Maybe RVP will win something meaningful this year.

France's strength is on the bench?Who've they got?Vieira isnt fully fit,is he?They've really got nuthin player-wise.

They need a character or they should just switch to 4-3-3. 3 strikers in Benzema, Henry and Anelka. Makelele should go out, Diarra may come in. There's still a lot France can give. Holland are just having a stroll in the park. Malouda has been a complete idiot. Simple one-two pass with Evra, he cannot complete it. A Prem player like Malouda watches Man Utd every week and should know how Evra operates. France shouldn't have qualified for this tournament at all. They have been shambolic.

France's strength is on the bench. Thierry Henry has been a waste-pipe if u compare him to what Ruud has done so far. Florent Malouda is a joke.
I just dunno what Ray Domenech was thinking choosing his team cos this Dutch team is well seasoned and have a tasty bench. Van Persie and Huntelaar are still on the bench licking their boots already to ask Gallas and Thuram questions in the 2nd half.

@ Loyika,

That is where u keep missing the point. Man Utd is privately owned. The Glazers are one individual(family) unlike Arsenal where u have loads of directors who might share different views. They will sell for less to spite Ronaldo/Real Madrid just to prove who is in charge. Maybbe u should go and get the tape of Fergie's FROST INTERVIEW. He said the Glazers don't mind putting Ronaldo on the stands to prove to y'all doubters that they can bloody do whatever they want. Who knows? Cristiano might be play for Aberdeen next season with a buy-back clause. grin  All i know is in Ferguson's 22 years at Old Trafford, he is yet to lose any player he wants to keep.

P.S.  Heinze have no clause in his contracts that prevented him from joining any Prem rival. If he did, his agents won't go to Court. David Gill/Ferguson told him they would sell him if he finds any club interested in him. Heinze came back to say Liverpool was interested and HELL was let loose. They told him they will never do any business with Liverpool. Heinze claimed David Gill told him personally he can move to any other club but since United is no longer PLC, they are not answerable to dealing with whatever. A privately owned company can decide who they are interested in dealing with. They are not open to the public.

@ Loyika,

I think u hurl a heap load of rubbish for a grown man. The Glazers were businessmen when they refused to sell Heinze to Liverpool. This has now gotten to personal levels so if Madrid cough out 5 billion pounds, United will not sell. It's not about the money. This is PERSONAL. FIFA and UEFA will come into it and Ronaldo will lose. Why? He is still under contracts till 2012. It's not as if his contracts have expired. . . .He signed till 2012 FFS!!!! Ronaldo himself said he can only move to Madrid if United decides to sell him. How can Madrid buy a player that is unavailable in the market? If Madrid have so much mystic powers, why did they fail to land Kaka and Fabregas last summer? The Glazers are Americans who are generally arrogant and love doing things their way either ethical or unethical. They don't mind being called BULLYS if they keep Ronaldo in the stands. . . . Business men are expected to be ruthless and if Americans minded what people call them, they won't be in Iraq. Innit?

Anyways, lets see what the lad wants, cause he holds the key to where his future lies.

Ronaldo held that key just before he signed his contract in the spring of last year. Now, he still has about 4 years to go and his contracts will not get to the boardroom until 2010/2011. If he decides to move now, Ferguson may not sell him to Real Madrid. Man Utd is not Arsenal or Real Madrid. United is now in the hands of private owners who may/may not deal with Real Madrid. They can keep Ronaldo in the stands if they so wish. There's nothing FIFA or any Human Rights group can do about it. The universe won't end if Madrid buy Ronaldo. It is the way they are going about it that is pissing Man Utd off.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by hucarson(m): 1:09pm On Jun 13, 2008
Did Real Madrid show interest in Heinze when he was flogged? The last time i checked, he wanted to move to Liverpool. If Ferguson goes to the media tonight and say he is willing to sell Ronaldo to any club bar Madrid, u would be shocked Derby County will show interest. Man United dont need the money. With or without Ronaldo, Fergie was given 50 million pounds to get more players. If u really think the Glazers depend on Ronaldo's transfer to survive then ur level of football knowlesge is lower than what i think. Trust me, i didn't give u much initially.

Real Madrid are a bigger club than Man Utd? Now your level of muppetry has gone down the gutters. In what aspect are Madrid greater than Man United?
Because they have few autistic men in power who believe football is all about assembling superstars and make them play whether they gel or not?
Is it fan base or operating profits that puts Man United ahead of many countries in the world? Somebody needs to dust his accounting nous. In Man United, the onus is not on the player. The onus is on Ferguson and David Gill. They will only sell Ronaldo if they want to not because of Real Madrid's buying power. Man Utd is no longer a PLC like it used to be. It is now in the hands of private owners and will not sell an unavailable player.

@Hustler,
Knowing the Germans, Seniority matters between the sticks that explains why Kopke was in goal while he had a terrible season in 1998 but Kahn had to be content with the bench Same Adler would be on the bench throughout this tourney unless something terrible happened.

@all,
The Germans have always had problems with Croatia remember the 3-0 thumping in France 1998 But I still beleive the Germans would qualify the only have to beat Austria.
The winner is not determined at this stage. In 2004, Greece qualified with just 4 points and went ahead to win the tourney

So this pederast is still alive? U have become a foreign body since United won the holy grail. Do u still think Hitzfeld is better than Ferguson? grin

@ Loyika,

It seems u talk ONLY because you like the sound of your voice or the arrangement of your words. You keep missing a fundamental point which is: Ronaldo is still on a contract that keeps him till 2012. Besides, mention one player that left OT without the blessings of Alex Ferguson. Man Utd will only sell a player when they want to not because of Real Madrid or the nonsense u keep recycling.  Granted, if Ronaldo decides to move, Fergie must sell him because keeping Cristiano might affect the team spirit but there's nothing under the law that says Fergie must sell to Real Madrid. Fergie may decide to sell to Milan or Lyon. How about that for something to reflect on?

Aaron Ramsey knows he would rot on the bench for years before he makes United's starting eleven. The strength in depth at OT made him change his mind not because he feels Arsenal are better than Man Utd. How many midfielders do Arsenal have(especially after the exit of Flamini). Signing for Arsenal guarantees more playing time for the young lad, good luck to him. If Ferguson was really after Ramsey, he would get him. All he had to do was slap a 10 million price-tag on him but with Anderson, Hargreaves, Carrick and Fletcher-United needs no Ramsey now. He is a talent no doubt but he might not blossom. Let Arsenal face the risk. When he matures, we might pluck him. Wenger has no luck with British players.

@ Cassiel,

He will remain number 2 as long as he feels he can step into Ferguson's shoes when Sir Alex retires. United's greatest challenge now is to get an able replacement in place before Ferguson steps into retirement. Don't let us even think about it for now. Man United must think about retaining their league title which starts with buying good players to add to the wonderful set up already in place. Next season will be tedious, Community shield, Super Cup in Japan and World Club championships in Brazil. cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by hucarson(m): 5:15pm On May 24, 2008
Arguments and counter-arguments. The way Chelsea play their own football is the only reason why strikers cannot flourish in the team. Should Fabiano, Adebayor, Kaka, Etoo or any good striker all join Chelsea, they would struggle to score 25+ goals a season cos the Mourinho way is too ultra defensive.
It took Drogba 3 seasons to score 20 league goals for Chelsea. Stick the same Drogba in Man Utd or Arsenal and he will bang 30+ league goals cos he is a powerful striker.

@ Ibime,

Telling us the better team lost on wednesday is quite preposterous. Man United dominated the first half. Chelsea's goal in the 1st half was clearly against the run of play. After the restart, Chelsea upped the ante but not as much as United did in the 1st half. The extra time period was even so how can u conclude Chelsea played better? The possession and the shots on goal favoured United. Chelsea were so much against it that they only depended at taking poke shots from a distance. I cannot remember Van Der Sar making any daring saves apart from Rio's header!!! It was Petr Cech that was called into action so u need to forget what Euro journalists are saying.

This must be hard to take for Chelsea fans but Man United deserved to win the UCL. Having gone 13 UCL competitions without a loss should be commended. They stuck at it and the mental strength paid off in the end. Are people still saying Ronaldo doesn't show in big games? Well. . . he has just won the UCL and was a thorn in Essien's flesh throughout the game. grin grin grin grin
