Its true.
Arsenal won by a single late goal.
United didnt have time to really equalise.

BTW, Didn't United thrash Arsenal 4-2 at Highbury last year?
What do u call that-Thrashing or Castrating?
United rules and u guys should count ur egg-heads lucky to have snatched a victory last night.
Emirates will burn when we meet again-trust me!!!!!!!!!

@ seunspice.
Word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The gooners always get whupped by Man Utd but its just sad how things panned out last night.
Fergie will make sho Arsenal does not do a double on United and i forsee anutha 4-2 demolition of the gunners at the Emirates.

@ Lordi,
Stop getting erections for me for nuthing.
What have i really done to ya?
Arsenal won and i congratulated y'all guys.
Good performance but the jury is still out on ur team.
Lets see if they maintain this run in the next chain of matches.
If they hold up then i will reckon with them as title challengers.
Its as simple as that
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Strictly Chelsea Talk: by hucarson(m): 6:57pm On Sep 18, 2006
Mikel should get to play.
It still baffles me how he strives so hard to even make the substitute bench ever since Chelsea started this season.
He must be doing something right in training and kudos to the lad.
I can't really wait for Chelski to start their carling cup campaign when the reserves will be thrown into action.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Man Utd Vs Arsenal: The Die Is Cast! by hucarson(m): 6:53pm On Sep 18, 2006
Its a swirl.
Arsenal played well and United did just fine.
Tough luck in front of goal robbed us and these things happen in football.
Every United player played to my satisfaction and i am sure United cannot wait to slash Reading to get back on track especially now that we are skanking the same points as Chelsea.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by hucarson(m): 6:50pm On Sep 18, 2006
@ Lordimpaq,
I am here.
Why is everyone getting the erections just because i said i was gonna dance naked at Oxford's.
I tried to and the po-pos got me arrested for INDECENT EXPOSURE.
Got loc'ed up cos i had to fulfil ma promise.

Anyways, yesterday's match was something i still cannot comprehend.
United did enough to win that match but Arsenal played some breath-taking football.
Our midfielders just refused to put the tackles in and they were ball-watching most of the time.
Smith and Heinze should start playing ASAP to add some sheer force to protect United's back four.

Arsenal won the battle but they have not won the war just yet.
The last time i checked the league table United is still locking the 2nd spot.
Dont get carried away because tough games lie ahead.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Man Utd Vs Arsenal: The Die Is Cast! by hucarson(m): 11:10am On Sep 18, 2006
@ Bolaoni,
Its one of those things.
The whole kizzack is quite strange to me because the defeat didn't get me sore.
The FA cup final of 2005 pissed me out for months but last night's defeat was just one of those days when things won't work for United.

A penalty for Arsenal @ OT in the 12th minute-------------------------Never heard it before.
Kuzcack's debut for Man Utd on a day we would face Arsenal----- Unthinkable.
Ronaldo missing a sitter after doing all the hard part----------------Unbelievable.
Solskjaer's last minute effort missing at that range----------------- Bizzare
Rooney n Scholes substituted in a match of that calibre------------Questionable.
Adebayor scoring the winner--------------------------------------------- Outrageous.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by hucarson(m): 11:04am On Sep 18, 2006
@ Loyika,
Don't push ur luck that far.
Arsenal to win the league and come 2nd because they won just a game in 4 matches?
Puhleeeeeease, Arsenal will still face Chelski, Liverpool and many other obstacles and the season is still a long way to go.
I will not even write Liverpool off at this junction just because they lost to Chelsea.
The last time i checked the table, United is 2nd and Arsenal is still a distant 10th with a game in hand though.

Enjoy the moment and good luck!!!!!!!!
United will be back.
The 53 months of the constant thrashing of Arsenal in the Premiership ended last night and what a way to end?

@ deboksy,
Anutha thing is why do we all feel the gunners are young?
Lehmann will be 37 by November, Gilberto is 30, Ljunberg + Henry +Gallas + Lauren are 29,
Hleb + Toure + Rosicky are 25.
Isn't this a fallacy?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by hucarson(m): 8:05am On Sep 18, 2006
@ United fans.
We cannot let this defeat dampen the spirit.
It was quite painful but the season has just started and we need to start stacking the points before Chelsea flies off like they always do.
I knew Jose Mourinho will turn up the knob after his defeat to Middlesboro and he has done it perfectly well.
United cannot afford to walk with their heads low and should be looking at shooting Pompey out of the top.
Ferguson should now unleash Heinze and Smith as these are the players that would have died tackling last night.
United lacked the grit the likes of Roy Keane, Phil Neville and Heinze always bring into our game.

UP UNITED.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by hucarson(m): 7:55am On Sep 18, 2006
@ Mukina2,
Arsenal played better but it was marginal.
Adebayor's late goal was the only difference but Arsenal played beyond everyone's expectations.
Crisp passes and good movements were the key and United just couldn't nick the tackles in to win the ball.
United's attack fired very well and for Jens Lehmann's once in a while brilliance, Arsenal could have gone home with a point or nothing.
Ferguson will rally the boys back and the season has just started.
My man of the match should be Jens Lehmann- he saved Arsenal more than Adebayor's late goal.

@ All Gunners,
Enjoy the moment.
Congrats toLordimpaq, Priscci, Kitaun and co.
Let this victory spur u guys into action and start winning games to stay on top.
The season is still horribly long so don't over-jubilate. embarassed
Hucarson to hide? I am having a laugh.
United fans are not known to be cowards.
I cannot wait for the Emirates battle later in the season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Man Utd Vs Arsenal: The Die Is Cast! by hucarson(m): 7:35am On Sep 18, 2006
@ debosky,
United had more than 2 starters missing(Van Der Sar, Heinze, Smith and Giggs)-although thats no excuse!!!!!!!
I was at Old Trafford and Arsenal came down to city with a boost of energy and confidence.
Arsenal's gameplay was highly impressive and they were marginally better on the day and maybe United ran a bit out of luck.

United played well and i think Ronaldo should have done better in front of goal.
It seems he had a scoring bet with Ferguson and he was so eager to score.
Wazza was also subdued by lack of matches but he should come good in subsequent games.

I must congratulate the gunners for the victory.
They needed to make an impression and Wenger got it right this time.
Priscci, Mukina2, Sir Lordi, Kitaun, Nightrider and others should have a lovely week ahead but the big winner this weekend is CHELSEA.

Whats the point in featuring in UEFA finals without bringing the cup home?
The last time United feature they brought the cup home against all odds.
Scoring 2 goals in added time was phenomenal and Bayern Munich will not forget it.
No wonder they refused to sell Ballack and Hargreaves to Man Utd.

Furthermore, the last time Liverpool featured in the final of UEFA, they won.
Liverpool came from 3 goals down to shoot down AC Milan in the penalty shoot-out.
A nerve-wrecking match that showed the strength of the English spirit.

What happened the first and only time Arsenal featured in the finals?
They brought nothing home.
The 1st British club to feature in the UEFA Champions League finals without winning the cup(What a way to smear the British record)
Wenger's foreign legion disgraced the English league and all they could do throughout was to sulk.
Shame on Gunners.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by hucarson(m): 9:11pm On Sep 15, 2006
Chelsea V Liverpool will be another feisty tie.
I am looking forward to it even if Chelski fans are not acknowledging on Nairaland.
The point is how many Liverpool fans are on Nairaland or do u expect Akola and Amodu to be arguing with each other?
I want Chelsea and Liverpool to cancel each other and a 0-0 result will do cos that will put us 5 points clear of Chelsea if we thrash Arsenal.
Akola, please don't be angry with me.
United's blood runs in my veins
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Man Utd Vs Arsenal: The Die Is Cast! by hucarson(m): 9:06pm On Sep 15, 2006
@ Bolaoni,
Don't mind the gooners.
Only God knows what would have happened if Arsenal had won UEFA last season.
Can u imagine they even compare their shabby team to the 1999 team of Man Utd?
Just because they were lucky to waltz their way into the final with Wenger's 4-5-1 formation.
The same Arsene Wenger has been condemning other teams for using the same tactics against him this season.
He said most teams refuse to play and make things difficult for his team--what an excuse?
Arsene Wenger is a failure as a manager and he will lead Arsenal to its doom with his foreign legion.

Hucarson won't disappear.
I am leaving for Manchester tomorrow evening to witness ur team's downnfall.
It will take hours to get back to London because of the heavy traffic that follows big matches like this so i wont post till late on Sunday.
Victory is ours.
Man Utd will stand tall against Arsenal
Scoreline will be 3-0 or even 4-0 if Solskjaer gets to play in the dying minutes.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Man Utd Vs Arsenal: The Die Is Cast! by hucarson(m): 3:41pm On Sep 15, 2006
@ Loyika,
Is it true?
I heard some Russian billionaires are sniffing around to take over Arsenal.
The price-tag is 350 million quid and your new owner is likely to be the metal magnate, Oleg Deripaska.
The 39 yr old Russian is the 6th richest man in Russia and has a fortune worth almost 5 billion pounds.
Will Arsenal change to Arse-ski or Gunnski?

@ Bolaoni,
Arsenal's match is a forgone conclusion-they will LOSE.
Wenger will roll out his full foreign legion again on Sunday but they would amount to nuthing but a toothless barking dog.
Who will Steve McLaren choose from Arsenal now that Wenger sold Cashley Cole?
Arsenal played against Hamburg in midweek with 11 different nationalities starting.
How does that make Arsene Wenger a genius in developing home-grown talents?
Whereas, United started against Celtic with 8 British talents on display.
Only Saha, Silvestre and Van Der Sar were imports.
Will i be right to say Wenger is a wimp?
I think i will be spot on. What are your views on this?

Why don't you like the the black Peter Crouch?
Adebayor is my favourite player in Arsenal.
Each time he misses in front of goal send tingles to my spine. grin grin grin grin
I pray he starts for Arsenal on sunday.

@ Chrisitino,
FYI, United's team has been boosted as Heinze, Smith and Neumanja Vidic will all be available on sunday.
Can the gunners survive this siege?
United 4-0 Arsenal------My Prediction

I am watching Wenger's press-conference on Skysports now.
One look at Wenger would tell u he has already given up.
He said:"We are going to Old Trafford to win the game without Henry and Robin Van Persie".
How sick is that? Who will score for Arsenal?
Even when they had Henry they could not score, let alone drafting Adebayor and Baptista into the attack.
I am sorry for the gooners.
Arsenal's in trouble.

I can answer all the questions on this quiz mentally.
These questions should be directed to the ladies in the house.
Let us allow them to win something on Nairaland as well.

@ Prisccy,
Whats the grand prize?
If it's a Buggatti Veyron 16.4 VW car then u can guarantee me doing a sex-change tonight. grin grin grin grin

United's win on sunday is too certain.
Tune ur TV to Skysports and see what the bookies(Williamhill, Ladbrokes, Skybet, Paddypower etc) think about this match.
Should Arsenal win i think there's going to be a match-fixing investigation levelled against the 2 teams. grin grin grin
On a more serious note, If Arsenal wins i will invite all London-based Nairalanders to Oxford Circus and dance naked.
Don't get it twisted- loads of NL members would love to see this spectacle. grin grin grin grin

@ Loyika,
U are very correct but an Arsenal loss will officially end Arsenal's premiership title chase cos United would have been 13 points clear.
United loss means nothing cos Chelsea still has to win to draw level with us so the pressure is on Arsenal.
How would Arsenal pick a point in our backyard-it's grossly impossible so expect another ass-whupping.
Arsenal will surely fall and i feel for y'all fans.
United is bound to kick y'all bad-assLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SportsRe: 2006/2007 Premiership Of No Excuse by hucarson(m): 12:42pm On Sep 15, 2006
@ Priscilla,
Arsenal always complain about building a team.
How long does it take to build a team?
Jose Mourinho built a winning formation in 11 months so whatz Wenger's excuse?
Arsenal and United started this project about the same time and United's young players have all developed through the years to become superstars.
Rooney, Ronaldo, Fletcher, Wes Brown, Rossi, O'Shea, Richardson have all matured and this are the future generation of Man U.
The lads Wenger tried to breed few years ago all failed to develop under him.
Pennant, Jeffers, Reyes, Aladiere, Clichy, Hoyte and Senderos are just waste of space at Arsenal so Wenger has no excuses.
Being young does not undermine the ability of a team to win league matches.
Ajax Amsterdam was a young team when they conquered Europe in the mid-90s.

@ Bolaoni, Jackal, Justkunmi,

I think we should compile the list of all gunners on Nairaland that have over-estimated the strength of their weak team.
Lets feast on these freaks relentlessly and taunt 'em till christmas.
Naturally, i will really like to take apart their executives(Priscilla, Debosky, Loyika and Kitaun)
Bolaoni and Jackal can pick the others and tear 'em apart until they bow down to a club greater than the shit club they support.
These are the fanatics to be crucified if Arsenal loses on sunday:
P.S.-They shall be declared Nairaland's most wanted if any of them fails to show up 72 hours after the match.

Olodo(Lehmann)
Priscci(Eboue)
Kitaun(Gallas)
Debosky(Flamini)
Mukina2(Kolo Toure)
Under18(Hleb-can't speak English)
Sil(Fabregas)
Nutter(Rosicky)
Vichel(Gilberto Silva)
Olumide7(Robin Van Persie)
Slary(Adebayor)

Subs.
Fimmy(Walcott)

AND
Loyika(Arsene Wenger)

Please i beg every United fan on Nairaland not to touch some sacred cows after Man Utd's victory on sunday.
These lads don't allow sheer patriotism to club to affect their judgements.
The list below are the sensible and objective gooners who should not be taunted because they know what the time is.

Sir Lordimpaq(His Royal Knighthood)
Nightrider(The wise man)

Bagoma(The Sorceress)
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Man Utd Vs Arsenal: The Die Is Cast! by hucarson(m): 11:22am On Sep 15, 2006
@ bolaoni,
I don't know why u guys are wasting your energy contemplating the outcome of Sunday's game.
United will win this match with their eyes closed and gunners will come back here and say the referee was partial.
Ferguson vowed never to let Arsenal run away with a draw at Old Trafford ever again after the battle of OT when Ruud missed a penalty kick.
That day was the turning back and there aint gon' be a change until Fergie leaves Man Utd.
Small clubs like Enyimba, Iwanyanwu and 3SC will come to OT and stun Man U but Arsenal will always get whupped.

Even if Arsenal decides to hire all Barca players Man U will still triumph as long as Wenger is the manager.
Fergie Versus Wenger is deeper than 22 players running around on the pitch fighting for 3 points.
It is a WAR between those 2 as they have openly admitted raw hatred towards each other.
I remembered the press conference preceding the pizzagate warfare.
Ferguson was asked if he had a bullet and he were to choose between Posh Beckham and Arsene Wenger, who would he rather shoot?
The gaffer laughed and said "C'mon, why can't i have 2 bullets so i can kill both of 'em"
That is the cold war between the 2 managers and this hatred is what pushes Man U to always triumph against Arsenal in the league.

@ Sir Lordi,
U r the man.
If every gooner on NL is like u then we will have a more peaceful thread.
Its a different thang to be hopeful and another thing to be boastful.
Arsenal is a brilliant side and they arguably play the best football in the EPL but over elaboration in their game play is costing them vital points.
Honestly, wenger should instil width in Arsenal's team and draft more wide players to ease penetration.
This is where i think United always get better of Arsenal.
Ronaldo and Giggs are always the key to beat Arsenal.
I hope the north london gaffer learns this time.
