dayokanu: So what questions do you need answers to? And in your epistle how come you omitted that Igbo soldiers killed other regional leaders sparing theirsYou speak with blinding bias. Read more about the intentions and characters of the first coup. Please take all the actors and read about them. They were even trying to stop the western Nigeria crisis involvin S.L Akintola and co, known as "wete" , ask historians, they will tell you that was why yorubaland in those days was known as "wild wild west" please read more and stop re-echoing what people keep parrotting about. It was unfortunate or fortunate that Zik was not killed. However, the top soldiers in the army then were predominantly ibos. Any other anti-ibo issues? Pls state them lets thrash them here. Im sure you supported the premeditated counter coup right? See fellow southerners...lol! |
Questions to ponder on. I need honest answers please. 1. There was a bitter 30-month civil war between Nigeria and Biafra (south east) for the "unity " of Nigeria. 2. In the face of a pogrom against the ibos in 1966, and the refusal of Ojukwu to take orders from a junior officer(Gowon), as the hausas wanted, Biafra was declared. Remember that in all these, the rest of Nigeria (chiefly the yorubas) never spoke out. They also kept quiet when Gowon reneged on the Aburi accord. The war was almost inevitable. 3. 45 YEARS LATER, the country is anything but united, with the same Northerners that fought for Nigeria's "unity" now trying very hard (or so it seems, by their adtions or their inactions) to disintegrate the country, (after promising to make the country ungovernable) just because of only 4 years out of power. 4. In the same country where "gunmen" from the North have massacred over 1,500 innocent Nigerians, with NOT EVEN ONE CONVICTION that we know of, people who hold a peaceful protest are being arrested? 5. The rights of people to free self expression and self determination is provided for and guaranteed by the UN Charter on human rights. So why do some group of people develop anti-ibo sentiments when they say they are tired of the present state of affairs? Did they insult your fathers by asking for their own freedom? Are there no real issues involved here? Is Nigeria really a nation? 6. The last time i checked, it is only the ibos that actually show they believe in Nigeria, because they invest their life and money in every nook and cranny of Nigeria. And what do they get in return? Name calling....property grabbers....settlers...over ambitious by nature...crude...etc. Come on people....! 7. I have noticed on Nairaland that the anti-ibo sentiments (especially from the yorubas) is very alarming, but not surprising. However, i want us to be mature enough to live together, as long as ibos dont insult anyone, there shouldnt be insults directed at them. No one should be insulted for airing his views, as long as it is done peacefully and legally. ....oh yes! 8. The ibos fought a war, a war of self defense and self determination, in the face of obvious injustice and gross violations of our human rights and dignity. If we were to turn the tables around, maybe you would have fought too...or maybe not. But we fought the bitter war, and we pray it never happens again. So please stop referring to the war as a means of insulting the ibos. It shows the highest level of insensitivity, and reveals underlying negative sentiments towards the beliefs and quests of a people in one of Nigeria's most difficult and trying moments. A time in which you sat and watched the massacres of the ibos in northern Nigeria. 9. Finally, the ibos have moved on quickly, and in 45 years, have excelled in every sphere of life in Nigeria and beyond. So, i beg those who just love talking nonsense against ibos to think before speaking next time. Thanks. |
question: @ OP What do you mean by "We bankers", "Some of us", "profession is over rated"? All because your girl call you stingy man.Its clear you know very little about banking. First of all, both overages and shortages should be declared and not be pocketed or paid for respectively. These things happen and not necessarily as a result of incompetence or negligence. It becomes so when it is repeated on and on. Finally, any serious relationship that is headed somewhere should not be based on sex, but mutual respect and the need to know each other better. Better if she is from a good home, either working or with potentials. |
As a banker, I have come across such statements by ladies. My opinion of such ladies is very low. First of all, what is Their intention? Why is it only ladies that say that? Imagine how many bankers they tell the same story on a daily basis. I see such girls as not well brought up, or as prostitutes. They seem to feel bankers receive salaries every day and should share it in such a manner. The truth is that banking teaches you the value of money, since your salary comes once a month, and most times you don't even have the time to enjoy It. My advise to bankers is to avoid as many shallow girls as possible, because your salary is fixed. Try and settle down early and start planning your financial freedom, so you can start doing something better with your life, because banking is not a job to remain for life. It should be a passage to a better future. strange girls should be kept as far away as possible. |
I honestly have not been praying as I should. We do pray every morning in my office but I believe christianity is a personal relationship with God. May God give me the grace to pray all the time because we live in perilous times. The devil is really at work especially in Nigeria. There is a lot to pray about. May God help us all to make heaven, In Jesus name. |
alj harem: My point is that |
COT=COMMISSION ON TURNOVER AND NOT COST OF TRANSACTIONS. THANKS |
My wife actually got that call, but wasnt sure of the person. I called the scammer, and after some grilling, i knew it was pure 419. Please people be careful. We live in perilous times. |
nitlad: Yeah! That's mur like it! What about pictures o charred bodies. Read ur post again. Makes you look like an antichrist. Ur just after looking for charred bodies so u can rejoice right? These are real people that died. They had families too. And maybe some of them may have even browsed nairaland too. So please re read ur comments so u dont come across as being so evil. |
Manchester united always needs the referees help to win games. Okay, in order to avoid man u wahala, all opponents of manu should henceforth field 9 players. personally i lost all respect for man u last night. The question is: if man u manages to win the league, would you be proud to say the best team won? |
I think he is referring to northern youth. |
Someone tell me how we are going to develop at this rate... |
Anti igbo sentiments in this thread are damn too much to ignore. However, the professor has bared his mind on what he thinks. There is freedom of speech. But in this thread i have seen a group of highly immature people who cant differentiate between an individual's opinion and facts, raining abuses on the whole ibo race! Thats unfortunate. I could also write a volume of negatives on the hausa/fulani and yorubas... But i wasnt brought up that way. Meanwhile, whoever called ibos "a bunch of never-do-wells" simply doesnt live in Nigeria. The ibos will always succeed against all odds, because of their natural fighting spirit. What Prof. Achebe said is never a reason to insult all ibo people. I resent that completely, because it shows immaturity and lack of comprehension. |
All i have to say is that samsung gives us all a better alternative to unnecessarily expensive apple products.

I laugh at these ghanaians showing themselves on nairaland. You, see, it shows how open hearted Nigerians are. We really do tolerate all shades of opinion...(& skin )...oh and i forgot...do not be afraid of a repeat of the "gmg" episode on nairaland. Another quality nigerian export. :-) |
otumfour: u are in no position to be talkn abt light for a man tht was born on generators lmao!!!....Otumfour, u see why i say u guys are slow? Who was talking about power? Okay let me spell it out for you slowpoke... Light drives out darkness, which happens to be your national color (of skin) meanwhile,.. i saw those pics long ago. I know Lagos now generates more power than your entire country. More on Ghana...when i think of Ghana, i see the definition of ugliness...it really seems the beautiful ones are not yet born over there! Thanks to mullatoes, it would have been a "dark", sorry "black" future for you guys. Seriously, you guys should consider the domain name ".ugg" |
otokx: When footballers open night clubs, what do you expect musicians and a notorious one like this to do? Nigeria is really going to the dogs.Guy, its called business...if u hate it, go and open yours. Dogs kooo, wolves niii |
candieangel12: There is something VERY feminine about him in this picture...Is it the female hair to the right of the pic? Hmmmmmm |
otumfour: ROYAL TAKEN THESE GAMBOS TO SCHOOLGOD SAID "LET THERE BE LIGHT" AND ALL THE GHANAIANS RAN OUT!!! ![]() |
I WONDER WHY GHANA ALWAYS LOOKS AT NIGERIA WITH A SENSE OF HATE/ENVY/ANGER. LET THE GAMES START FIRST BEFORE THEY COMMENT. UNTIL THEN, MAY BLACK STARS KEEP LIGHTING UP THEIR NIGHT! |
Who said Abuja was the center of unity? In your best interest, avoid the Abuja lands because it will become illegal once a rep. Or senator wants it. I keep saying it, Nigeria is not a country that practises equity and equality before the law. And without justice, there can never be peace. When will our leaders learn that? The truth is that the nass members on whose behalf the demolitions are being made, already have at least 20 plots in Abuja and other parts of Nigeria! Wonder why Nigerians HATE one another so much. |
Lol! Liberians are funny! The Nigerians simply wallopped them! Theres really nothing to investigate there abeg! |
ACCESS BANK STILL REMAINS THE WORST PLACE TO WORK. TERRIBLE AND WICKED, CLASS SENSITIVE AND FAKE! THEIR MD IS SO HEARTLESS AND ARROGANT! GOD FOBID!! |
52th! Lovely one there! |
@OP, your post is fundamentally fallacious. It assumes that all married folks see a pastor for every disagreement. You should have been more specific, or put in some refinement. |
Billyonaire: Cross River has landmass that can accommodate everyone in Lagos and Ogun State, yet the landmass is virtually uninhabited, they should relocate the people and rehabilitate them. Such programs are going on in China where whole villages are moved to newly built counties. That is what they should demand from the FGN if their interest was not oil. There is no reason why one person should die in a communal fight. The Cosmic, created a free universe, man puts boundaries.may your kindred never be sold away to another country and lose their ancestral land forever. |
Samsung galaxy all the way! In fact, the android OS is the new world order. Its the way to go!
|
Guys try and sleep Nooooo. Tomorrow will take care of itself. What he will say is not running away. |
I have read all you guys have said, and it seems like Afghanistan in here. But lets be objective. First of all, the justification for the war is unquestionable. A pogrom of any kind must be resisted.Secondly, I would be better prepared in a war if you spelled it out right from the outset that you were my enemy. But when you suddenly become a turncoat and betray me right in the middle of things, it becomes rather painful. Awo, whether we like to hear it or not did not act like a fine gentleman. He remained on the fence and surprisingly aligned with our enemies to harm us. 2 million children starved to death, those kids were the future generation of engineers, lawyers, soldiers, or professors. They were not fighters. The Ojukwu I know would never have done that to the Yorubas. But the good news is that we have moved on. Afterall, I dare anyone to tell me any tribe that has more faith in the Nigeria project than the ibo man. This is self evident in his willingness to invest in and develop all nooks and crannies of the land. The questions we should be asking is this: who are the true patriots? Is it those who invest in all parts of Nigeria? Or those who would prefer to destroy Nigeria if they cannot rule? Put in another way, we can now see how far Awo's actions have brought us. Are we now more united in Nigeria?is Nigeria moving forward? Have the hausa not squandered our collective resources? Even though they contribute little? But some people seem to be comfortable in the face of injustice, while others confront it head on. The latter group should never be criticized for doing so. Because, it is because of such critics that Nigeria is where it is today. My final point- never be afraid of your past. No matter how ugly, They inform your future decisions. If you don't know where you are coming from, you can't know where you are going. |
Does it have any issues? Any pics of the interior? |
