She was afraid of Unilag post utme then she changed to Fuoye last year. As it is now...My family is already looking for ways to transfer her to a better school around here. overcomer90: First of all, there are no lucky ones if u don't do the needed work and u hope in luck then Oyo lo was. Things I did differently 1. Forgave my self for believing in luck to gain MBBS admission. The price must be paid in full and even extra. Some even pay the price in advance (u know those u-16 guys that always blast jamb) 2. Read wide for bio, chem and phy.(u cant neglect any valuble shit cos it can cost u a mark. U know what 1 mark mean for MBBS admission? Read hard , Read smart. Never get angry when u fail questions cos that how u learn. The key is to keep improving. If I am to study for jamb btw now and next yr, I am sure I will learn thousands of knew things including correcting previous misconceptions. 3. Know ur capability - choose a credible school where u have the highest chances of gaining admissions for MBBS. From my experience state schools favor their indigenes, and every other geopolitical zones favor its people but ui is for all it only favor eld. 4. Study and always be on or above par with fellow aspirant in real time and online tutorials including study groups. 5. Start the blasting from o level (important subjects) waec try to get as much a as possible with at most 1 B. This I knew very late, meaning I had to do GCE again just for the A's. 6. Get the right pqs, and textbooks. 7. Learn from ur own personal mistakes u are ur best teacher. 8. Never give up . . . . . The list goes on and on. For me no 1 and 8 where what changed my life. Thanks for your input. What do you think about having 4As, 4Bs and 1 C4 for medicine admission |

Truth be told, Medicine and surgery as a course is as much feared as it's desired by many Nigeria students looking to secure admission into the University owing to the large number of students applying to the course yearly, among which only a very small fraction would end up being selected to study course.
So, the question here for the lucky ones that was/have been given admission to study this prestigious course, how good was your WAEC and UTME result back then? And what did you do differently to have gotten such a course to study?
Kindly give your answers as it will benefit many out there looking to be like you guys.
Forgive grammatical errors...thanks |

ennyj01: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, Please my sister just saw her jamb result and she scored 196, she wanted to study accounting in one of the federal university in Nigeria. But with that score I am not sure she might see any school to enter. Please I will appreciate it if you can give me list of private universities that accept less than 200 for accounting and the amount they pay per year for school fees. By amount I mean the total amount payable, that is school fees, feeding, accommodation and dues. I will be glad if anyone can help with this info. Google is your friend, bro! |

Mustsucceed: This is utter rubbish .and promotes tribalism. How can u during ramadan in another state preach the word of Allah in a selective language .you can't dare tell me that the people don't understand English .iam 200% sure over 50 % of them can speak English and /or Hausa This doesn't make sense and its your job as his listeners to discuss with him unless you purposely did this to promote division I am actually disappointed that a Muslim can find thorough think of words a stressful thing to do. He wasn't being tribalistic, just stating the facts. I am from Osun State and here in my hometown, most if not all of the cleric use yoruba because they are in a yorubaland and we are all Yoruba people. Do you expect then to speak Hausa or Igbo, a language they don't understand just because there is an Hausa or Igbo among us? Hausa people in my town have their own tafseer session together. Also, many elderly people and some youths are illiterates, even some of the clerics, so you expect them to start learning English? Who are they going to speak it to, the Hausas or the Alamjiris (no offense)? Think through before you talk. Mah Salam |

supo19884: Bro you don't need any professional certification to apply for US schools. Although, you might submit Gre and tofel results asides your university certificate among other requirements to get grant or fundings in a top notch university in America .
As you are intending to specialize into robotic so it's better to add value to your first degree certificate by learning programming language related to your area of specialization/ field. This will give you an edge as most often graduate research adviser conducts interview for prospective student on skype and prefers the ones with relevant skills in their line of research to recommend for admission. Okay... Gracias |

CodeTemplar: Mechatronics is a great choice but you said most foreign schools don't favour it as much as they do four CE, EE and ME. Anyone you do, just known that mechatronics will be relevant in the future and I saw a clip on YouTube were they projected that US will be needing tens of thousands of mechatronics people and put average salary at over $200k. When I say they don't favour it, I mean they don't really consider it for Msc Robotics....I always see Computer Science, Mech Engr, Elect-elect. I know some schools will be accepting it though as they do write "or any other closely related undergraduate degree" but I think if it's really as desired or preferred for robotics as people always say, then why can't I see any school specifically list it as their undergraduate degree requirement? |

supo19884: Choose Mech. Engineering, put in optimum effort to develop your skills into programming and robotic system, and during your final year project conduct research in the field of mechantronic. Thank me later Someone has once given me this advice before but I am worrying about something and I am sure people here will clear my doubts. I am thinking: If I actually enrol for learning programming while still an undergraduate or teach myself and become good at it, how will I prove myself when applying for my masters in future assuming I don't have any certificate to show my proficiency in programming skills. And assuming I manage to get a certificate in programming, how will I get it to be recognised by US schools? |

Good day guys. I need the help of the intelligent people we have on this forum. Pls don't mind the grammatical errors I might commit while trying to express myself. I wrote this year's UTME hoping to gain admission into a school in 9ja here. However, I find it quite hard to choose which course to study for my undergraduate degree between Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering. Lemme explain why I find it hard to pick one among them. Bear with me and read to the end Firstly, I will like to point out that I am a brilliant student and I am capable of excelling in these courses. I am the kind of student that has great love for automation and robotics and I hope to study Robotics Engineering in US for graduate studies one day (main reason I filled Mechatronics in my Jamb registration form) only to later find out through visiting various US school's websites that Mechatronics is usually not even among the required degree for masters in Robotics in US, especially the kind of Nigeria's mechatronics degree (the required degrees in most cases are Elect-elect, CS, CE and Mech. Eng) which has made me lose interest in mechatronics although I believe I can still go for masters and PhD in mechatronics in 9ja here. Another reason I fear going for Mechatronics is getting job with it in Nigeria here (in case I have to work before travelling for my masters). I think it may be hard as it's kinda new and you will have to prove yourself before they can even consider you (where's that job sef). I know the next best plan will be to opt for Mechanical Engineering but I understand that we are now in computer age and Engineering course without computer knowledge is not really in demand. I am also a student with great love for Mathematics and I am quite good in it. I am sorry if I sound confusing but I will really appreciate you guys replies and will be happy to answer any question to further clear my doubts, misconception and ignorance on this issue from sensible guys we have here. Thanks as you help a boy determined to succeed in life!! And to the "School na Scam" guys .....I know!! |
