forgiveness:He is below him bro... for three seasons consecutively paul has proven himself..in that low league you called it... in the national team colors of recent, Paul scored the last super eagles goal..same can't be said of Awoniyi who still need time to settle in the national team unfortunately the danish league is higher than the Nigeria league..so we are not in the same par with those countries with leagues rated higher than the danish league and as such ignore their players in the teams. |
forgiveness:we all see things differently... can you please list for me the best non-Egyptian players in the Egyptian league..? list for me too 10 and see if Ajayi is not a respected player in that league.... why leave out such a player...in same country hosting the tourney...he has already familiarize with the terrains and even the pitches.. go Check the Ghanaian team please and see they called their Egypt based players with so much enthusiast |
forgiveness:and If they rate their league....that way should we now rate our player who have been consistent in same league...in same manner...he proved himself with his first invitee...he scored and delivered a master class performance above average and Awoniyi who happens to play in Belgium fail to do same against lowly Libya under 23... |
forgiveness:the fact that the danish national team did that...does it make it right. is their actions a yardstick or the standard other countries with nationals in the league should ply...? and the fact that the coach made such decision does it make it right? his actions can pay off and also it can back fire..... coach pick players base on what they tend to offer and how they rise to the occasion wen it demands them to do so. these players have more and better opportunities than Africans as Europeans.... had it been Paul was a European I doubt of he won't have made it to the epl long ago...remember when Aston Villa wanted go for him after his stunning goal against united in the Europa few seasons back. |
virgoquin:this part weak me... he is expecting his wardrope allowance. tell me how will this man not steal or collect bribe |
Oasis007:had it been Ndidi was from Senegal or any of these countries...you would have said same and puts him in the category of the players you listed. some of us here so much underrate Nigeria players... |
forgiveness:I have said this and will say it again... Ajayi was picked because of the Egyptian league factor....and the coincidence that same country will be hosting the AFCON... Same reason why Brian Idowu made the world cup list..... the north Africans fans are very passionate and intimidating...playing them in front of their home fans can come with so much pressure... you need players who are matured to absorb these heat and as well used to the terrain of Africa football and fans |
forgiveness:but a player from a danish league scored a stunner...against Egypt in a friendly match in asaba... that's the Egyptian that have always beat us to pulp. if you were in rohr shoes will you leave out such a player? he proved himself in the first match...he starts... mind you Awoniyi shot himself on the foot...had it been he played like oshimen against the Libyan...Rohr would have called him...also note that the Under 23 handler is also part of the super eagles coaching staffs..and as Such probably made some inputs too on the team selection. |
gamaliel9:what did you eat this night? |
chrisooblog:I think he has been invited before...probably on a standby list. and also....he plied his football in the host country...that's a plus, he could possibly be the joker of the team |
chrisooblog:how many matches has Awoniyi played for the super eagles? how many goals has he scored? i thought by now we should know that club football is different from country football... the fact that a player scores for his club at will does not mean he will do same for his country...the Libya match was a perfect example that shows that the Lad will need so much time to settle down in the super eagles and that time we don't have now as afcon approaches.... we need players with major experience when it comes to playing africa oppositions.. take it from me...if i was the coach...i will swiftly replace nacho with ajayi... Dude play his football in egypt he understands the terrain, some of his team mates will be playing for the egyptian come when the tourney starts, He would have likely be he joker of the team and for awoniyi dude is not that clinical or prolific compared to the invited strikers |
Oasis007:the problem with us nigerians... is had it been Onyekuru and co where nationals of other africa countries especially francophone countries many here won't have let us rest with the hype...some would even make us to grow fears for this players, but because they are nigerians they are upcoming talents. |
Icon4s:to be honest all the Cfs invited are way ahead of him in the pecking order. paul scored in the his first match for the super eagles against a renowned opponent like the Egyptian. Oshimen proved his worth against the libyans in asaba...had it been Awoniyi scored those goals i.e the hat trick oshimen scored i doubt Rohr to have ignored his inclusion into the super eagles team remember Okereke got an invitee for the next super eagles match against egypt from his display in that match...that to tell you how rohr rated that Libya match...he watched the match himself. and for nacho... rohr actually picked because of past exploits we all here know rohr does not really rate the belgian league the time is just too short to try new players... and after all awoniyi is not that prolific compared to the invited players... |
Kog45:I don't think Awoniyi is better in terms of delivering than Paul... |
tbaba1234:He is like an Edo breed... that name look esan |
darkelf:simply put...you just don't like mikel. I don't know what you have against him... mikel has featured in 3 afcon and in each he has proved himself. he got his debut goal against Zimbabwe in 2006 and scored and assist Yakubu in Ghana 2008 afcon he was the only useful player in the super eagles in that afcon and in 2013....he played so well delivered a master class....I don't know if he featured in 2010 afcon though...I think he was injured. |
Earthquake3:the thing tire me nor be small... Nwaekeme is one player that ought to have made even the stand by list.... he has done fairly well for himself this season...settled so well in turkey... but no one is crying for his exclusion |
darkelf:na the condition we find our self... rohr always like carrying one nearly useless oldie to any tournament...last one was Elderson... moreover I don't have so much faith in mikel agu....his of no use to the team. if we should be taking any player in place...I will support a good home based AM/CM...instead. I repeat a good home based AM/CM instead...and not agu |
Icon4s:Lol.... chief my eyes don clear ooo Uzoho na scam |
Koboko99:abeg leave forgiveness ooo...... i have learnt to tolerate his choice though. and those players are not even helping matters with their choice of clubs especially kayode he had the opportunity to sign for newcastle the last time but instead opted for city when it was obvious that Pep don't fancy him that much |
forgiveness:Rohr had been a fan of oshimen because of his parent club...i think rohr has a good relationship with the management of that club who informed him of oshimen exploits in front of goals... remember a member of the backroom staff at wolfburg once said oshimen score a lot of goals..i think that was in training... that alone made rohr to take interest in him... you know sure well Rohr is a fan of the german and french league |
forgiveness:the country will remain poverty capital because we re-elected buhari and not because of rohr players list pls |
Koboko99:those guys over the years have stamped their place on the national team invitee especially nacho..the first goal the super eagles ever scored in rohr's reign was done by nacho and many other goals you don't expect any coach to ignore such a player quickly because of a rough path he is currently plying but still he has the friendly to prove himself... everyone here knows that nacho is a good finisher even though he has currently lost form and currently being lackadaisical. and for Ogu... you know sure well the calmness he brings into the game and his ability to shoot from afar precisely he proved himself against algeria and that alone impressed rohr compared to agu with so many chances he failed to utilize |
soetanoreoluwa:God forbid. for now ezenwa should man the post abeg... i rewatched the nigeria vs cameroon match again yesterday... abeg Ezenwa is better than the duo of uzoho and akpeyi... he has a better gripping on the ball than the duo... and also more composed Rohr should use him as our number 1 goalie |
Icon4s:i can't remember i have never seen Forgiveness ever been pleased with the super eagles list when ever released... He always have issues with the list... i like him sha if everybody think and act same way this world will be boring i am expecting to support the team regardless. |
Joebie:I don't see any problem with the inclusion of ajayi on that stand by list...dude plies his football in Egypt same hosting country. if it was an indigenous coach...I sure know he would have made the final list. the list is fair enough...very fair |
Oasis007:that If the coach will trust him with the starting berth...I foresee oshimen starting that match...ahead of him. |
tbaba1234:so that nigeria guy in juventus didn't make the list....? I know he was invited for the camping |
Icon4s:yeah you're right...hope he regains his mojo back in the match against Sudan... because I am hopeful that one of the strikers in the under 20 team may be infused into the team should Nigeria have a successful under 20 outing in Poland...that will be a serious issue for Taiwo to contend with. |
Icon4s:well said....I see oshimen as a player that may steal the show for the super eagles in this afcon |
forgiveness:I understand...bro. but you know this list would have been worse off...had it been the Super eagles coach was a full blooded nigerian |
Eleniyan15:dropping chuks will make no sense... because if he had no plans for him....why prevent him from going to the under 20 world cup.... I see both wingers making the team... the players to b dropped...are likely; nacho and Moses simon |
