Once again, we missed some good chances...the boys need to work on that..
It's hard to pick a MOTM...Aina, Bassey, Nwabili, Osimhen,Ekong, Onyeka, even Ajayi and Iwobi were all solid... Iwobi nor suppose play 90 mins na Abi my eyes deceive me |

Oasis007:

We were complaining of Chuks, only for Simon to come in and damn terrible. When I listed him amongst names that should bid farewell to Eagles after AFCON, some Dudes were asking why. LOL! Simon is done with football Him and Chuks are something else sometimes I wish we call up Tella |

komekn: That's not what I said .
Outside of Iwobi the mist creative innovative midfielder in the current squad is Aribo IMO. From the midfielders in the team You're right except we're going to list Nacho as a midfielder Mind you Onyeka Onyedika Yusuf are all CM and CDMs respectively. Only Iwobi and Aribo are CAMs |

Apart from Aribo I don't see any creative innovative technique led midfielders the rest are water 💦 carrier albeit hard working ones. So Aribo is more creative than Iwobi ? Komekn |

His form for a forward player relegated from the EPL to the Championship is poor.
He is not fit , is that not a very big risk . Lol. How many of super eagles have you watched. There is no difference between you that have an issue with Iheancho and the guy that always picking on Iwobi i understand it was because Iwobi was benching his favourite player then Zubby Only God knows where Zubby play now |

AndSunGorilla: True, I would have preferred a midfield trio of Onyeka, Onyedika and Iwobi with Aribo on the bench. Kind of like how we played in the 1st half against Mozambique. Onyeka to be roaming to and fro and Onyedika shielding the defence. Yes exactly. Aribo is not too good defensively and onyeka can forget himself some times by overlapping |

lbrichman2: Thank you That's all we need Same structure, same formation We will definitely create chances They just need to put on their scoring boots I'm also looking forward to seeing how Nwabili will fare against better opposition For some reason I strongly feel we will win that game Yes Bro Jpes will find himself to blame if he doesn't repeat same formation and structure. The only problem is Simon and Chuks No one knows when they'll play well most of the time they play nonsense but on a good day they give a man of match performance. That's why whoever get to start is tricky Just pray we win on thursday |

Samueltemi337: For me I will prefer we play a 3-5-2 against Cote d'Ivoire
Nwabili
Ajayi Ekong Bassey
Osayi Onyeka Yusuf Aina Iwobi
Osimhen Lookman Una don start thank God say Jpes nor dey nairaland sha Please Jpes should stick to the formation and style of play adopted against EQG. But rather start Chuks instead of Simon and Bassey instead of Sanusi |

Mujtahida: EQG that we split their defense into nice bits na im you dey say we should not have used direct approach. When the opposition goalkeeper wins man of the match that should tell you something. JPes tactics was spot on. That game was defined by bad luck and awful misses Thank you Same thing I have been telling my friends Jpes got that tactics spot on we just ran out of luck |

Barryseal: Here we go! Lets wait for Man City to sign him before we believe he is good! We are Nigeria you know, the country with 5 world cup trophies. Not Man City let any top 15 club in England, Italy, Spain, France or Germany come for him You guys are just carried away with sentiment. I will rather pick an NPFL midfielder instead of Nwakali |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by humility33(m): 9:51pm On Jan 14, 2024 |
Barryseal: Dictating plays from midfield goes beyond playing long passes. The Deeplying midfielder should have the most touches of the ball. The game goes through him, both short and long passes. I can't remember Iwobi switching the game from left to right or from right to left. I'm not saying Iwobi is a poor player but Nwakali does these effortlessly. Is it that you guys don't watch football enough to understand what Nwakali brings?
The DLM is supposed to be an arsonist and a fire fighter. He can turn the heat up when gamestates demand it yet quell the flames others ignite.
And yes the fire fighting is done on the ball like Jorginho & off the ball like Rice.
Can you list a Nigerian midfielder you know who can do the above listed effortlessly if you exempt Nwakali? Nwakali does this effortlessly and top clubs or any club in top 5 leagues still have not come snatch him up Nwakali supporters are the problem of this thread. How you guys glorify and hail the mysterious talent of this journeyman that is invisible to top club scouts in germany, england, italy, spain and even france baffles me You guys need to come of it. |
