Mujtahida: To be frank, I don't see anything special about this Nwakali. That he's an unending subject for discussion here is the 8th wonder of world to me.
The fact is that if he's really that good he will not be scraping at bottom tier league.
Even Iwobi that many have lambasted plays for a decent club.
In all honest I blame the NFF for Nigeria ouster at this AFCON
Just imagine the extent Senegal goes to invite Sarr but here we have NFF led by greedy PINNICK where all he cares for is, his personal interest not to move our football forward. Many Africa countries FA won't tolerate the non availability of Oshimen and Dennis. They will go any extent wrestle with the clubs to have this players. Forget the case of the Covid 19 for Oshimen and lame excuse for Dennis
This men have hold our football hostage for too long. We need an NFF president that will be passionate about our football development
do4luv14: And what stops you from being his number 2, in the coaching setup
Oga Elyte wrote true and the guy responded in a comic way to show his displeasure with the milipead movements of the Pinnick lead nff in appointing a substantial coach for the Super Eagles
If Equeavon is to continue they should appoint him fast and let him get to work as soon as possible
Ghanaians are not smiling with the appointment of haughton I see them getting prepared for war come next month
Daninya33: Let's us use the Social Media to force Eguavoen, Agu and the technical crew to give the Israeli GK a chance. From the little I saw,he can displace all the GKs we paraded in Afcon 2021. I believe there are better GKs here in Nigeria and they may not necessarily be in the NPFL . Alloy Agu is a fraud.
I know there are forumites here who knows or have people in influential positions that can force the hands of the S.E handlers.
Adebayo Adeleye must be made Super Eagles number 1. I want to see him in goal against Ghana in the world cup Qualifiers.
The Ghanaian would go on rampage against the S.E. I expect them to shoot from every angle knowing fully well that our G.Ks are bad.
He is right Old age does not equate to mal governance
First when buhari ruled in the 80s sure then he was in his 40s or late 30s... the happenings and how he ruled is not different from how he is ruling now. It is more of a case of an individual and what he/she has to offer and not AGE
Yaya Bello is a young governor That is mistreating his people so not an age thing
JohnBullMySon: Baba calm down na. You must not be sentimental. Eguavoen is doing what every professional coach does. Sadiq has been impressive in the league, so he believes in him, and is trying to boost his morale. Nothing wrong with that.
Yeah with the way u said it Nothing is wrong may Be I was thinking too far Just my opinion though and it was subject to correction
chrisooblog: Humility bro you disappointed me with this your post o. It's now a sin for a coach to ginger a player?
Eguavoen in interviews before the AFCON already said he will talk to his players from time to time so where's this agenda popping it's head from?
Even the yeye journalist shouting ''close door meeting'' didn't a photo journalist already post a picture of Augustine talking to Umar so why all the unnecessary conspiracy theory?
I posted my opinion here and it was what I think and I did so because I believe some of us here might have more info
Well good to read your reaction, I just fear the sentiments and nepotism that have been playing out in the political circles might play out too in sports
Mujtahida: Ohhh Jeeez. Please go online and watch Eguavoen's pre-match presser and listen to Eguavoen answer question in relation to Sadiq. Eguavoen is just trying to encourage the young man. Haaba habaaa. Listen also to his explanations about Ndah. In fact for Ndah he even mentioned a politician's name Honorable Boma Iyayi recommended Olisa Ndah to him two years ago. Is that enough for me to now say Olisa Ndah has political back up? No! That's the link to the presser.
lovewins: First, you need to realize that if you knew better you'll be the coach of the Eagles and not Eguavon. Sometimes we need to at least give the coach some credit that he knows what he's doing. A coach sees beyond what's on the field of play, he is probably privy to the potential that the boy carries and maybe also aware to what's keeping Sadiq from maximizing his potential. That said, Eguavon is not fixated on Sadiq and doesn't always talk about him, you only hear of him repeatedly cause the press keeps questioning him about the guy
I am football fan and not a coach and the fact that Equeavon knows better does not mean he can't or won't make mistakes. Sometimes u dont know the Presure he is been subjected to.
Think maybe your second paragraph or point better explained the talk round Sadiq.
andrewbaba44: Who told you sadiq is starting ahead of taiwo ,who ever said so ,even the coach won’t do that
Like seriously Na agenda you Dey find against sadiq
Onuachu is a good player and if he was fit he would have start at this afcon and there is nothing you can do about that
Onuachu will come back to the team and maybe you can continue from where you stop .
Maybe my presumption was way far But not on any agenda against Sadiq...I have always admire and desire he play for SE prior now
He stole my heart during the Olympics but ever since then nothing he has done in this AFCON to impress me even thinking those stats of his in Spain is because it was Spanish league 2
Danielnino00: You are sounding ridiculous.. Why will Eguavon bench Awoniyi for Sadiq? If Eguavon plan was to push Sadiq into the team, he would have started him ahead of Awo from day 1. Calm down...All this your theory doesn't make sense.. Eguavon is just trying to motivate Sadiq, like a serious coach would.. Or would you prefer him going to the media and telling them that Sadiq isn't a serious player or isn't good enough like Rohr was doing when he was in charge?
Let's hope he is trying to motivate him Maybe I was too fast with my assumptions
I have no issues with a player been a northerner or a southerner as long as he kicks the fibre round the pitch well I am okay and fine with it
There is nothing political about sadiq place in the team
Try to Dey stay one place ,he is better than onuachu and deserves to be in the team ,now he is in the team you are relating it to political backing
Baba can you please listen to yourself ?
He can be in the team but not start ahead of Taiwo. Sure will rather play a false 9 over him and Onauchu and if asked to start one will start Sadiq after much prayer to mother luck
andrewbaba44: What’s wrong in playing umar sadiq from the bench ?
Did the coach tell you he will be starting him ?
Because he missed some chances against guinea Bissau means he should not play for the eagles anymore ,me I still don’t understand how you watch your own football ooo
You are never satisfied about anything and you must connect everything to political backing just because the guy is from the north (maybe)
He is the only striker on the bench and yes he should play ,the guy is not a bad player ,not that he missed an empty net
Ighalo has missed chances and rohr believed in him ,I am sure you didn’t say ighalo have any political backing
It is not because he is from the north A player can be from the south and have a strong backing
I have had similiar stance with players from the south too in that regard
In every set up there exist politics even in companies it is left for the actors to play it to their advantage sha
You used to be a strong Saqid advocate here, and several times you said he was better than Onuachu..Now you have changed lane to say he has political backings.. Stay one place na.. U swing too much...
Baba the attention on him is too much He has not really played to my expectations
So I just move on to Taiwo that have woow me and even Yinka that I so much know his potentials
Sadiq was some one I expect much from but with what I have seen will so angry if Taiwo is benched for him.... I know how sentiments have gone thrive in Nigeri a political and other sectors lately so it will be disastrous if same happens in sports
jihday: what do you mean? If he’s a southerner would you even say this? You are an ethnic jingoist, just admit it . you are the same person always championing the ‘Shehu in the eagles because he’s a northerner’ agenda. So you mean as a coach he’s not supposed to fire up an underperforming player? You can’t even hide your ethnic agenda. Mtcheew
I have no issues with a southerner or a northerner in the team
But when the Coach is hell bent on playing a non performing player it annoys me
Prior the afcon Sadiq was the player I tipped to cause an uprise and steal the show but so far he hasn't done so.... So I no need to keep hellbent on playing him
For your information I am not an ethnic bigot I will agree if you call me an impatient person. I am not a patient person...I believe if something is not working u move to the next asap
andrewbaba44: Oga humility with due respect you are not making any sense
What’s wrong with eguavoen believing in umar sadiq ,and where is the your politicians sentiments comming from ,I can’t understand your comment and the screenshot at all ,because it doesn’t correspond
Please explain better
Thank you
Why is the coach keen on playing him
Every time we hear Equeavon talk about him, how he didn't play to instructions bla bla
Is it a must he plays him if he does not fit play other players that fit in. The scenario is playing out like the coach is hell bent on playing him
I have begin to think that this guy have strong political backing
We may end up loosing this AFCON and not making much progress in football if our politicians begin to bring in sentiments as to who should play and sit on the bench
komekn: I am watching a certain 22 year old Salisu central defender for Ghana as we speak. He is an iron gate in defence against Manchester city , it's 1-0 to Southampton and he is at heart of all good on things in about Southampton in this game.
What I can't understand is why he was not at the AFCON. Google is your friend, his brother complained that the Ghana FA officials asked him to paya bribe before he will be selected for the U17. A very familiar story in sub Saharan Africa football administration.
Ther are a few others that will probably be in the team like Felix Gyam. Ghana will be a very wounded Lion, if possible rather avoid Ghana. It will not be easy .
Well said pessimist So that Salisu balls the midfield more than Ndidi
JohnBullMySon: Reading through old posts and saw your post
Besides beauty, the girl na better baller oh, at 2019 WC. But for fine, her NT teammate Karchaoui is the standard. It doesn't get any better than this.
