Landmark group started by investing in event center in Owerri, and they partnering with kunoch group to develop another mall bigger than owerri mall at Protea hotel area.
You are right about oguta, but that local resort there has tried a lot, currently there the choice holiday resort in imo state now, with an artificial beach.

You're right about the inland roads, the bridge collapsed, Ministry of works has captured it, in it's next phase of reconstruction.
As for the building opposite Rockview hotel, I thought it will be office complex or shopping plaza. Do you know the purpose of that new 5floor building along bank road?
I think that building opposite rockview would be a shopping plaza , mall

Asking state government to build high rise buildings in Owerri, or go into PPP to do that, in a state where less than 1% of the population have access to common treated portable water. Foolishness. Private water boreholes is NEVER a system of public water supply.

Glad that Rochas Okorocha was stopped from succeeding himself through his son-in-law as governor of Imo state. If not, he would have collapsed to pressures by nit wits to use federal allocations of the local government areas to build skyscrapers in Owerri, so as to make more people see his acts in Owerri and call him a good presidential material. The same manner they pressured him for flyovers in Owerri where roundabouts would have been okay, and pressure to make Owerri a Dubai in Africa; no consideration of the fact that rest of Imo state outside Owerri are like in the 20th century stage.

Hope Uzodinma is more matured in governance. He will never yield to the demands of these nit wits.
hope that doesn't have vision

My brother, abeg, free that Alvan Ikoku university project. Have you been to Alvan? Last time I was there, it looked like a dilapidated poultry farm with just few ETF buildings.

Most lecturers there don't even know what they are doing, even if you wanna chase woman, be intelligent atleast, but book them no know.

Let them work on themselves before aspiring to become a university.
oga this one u talk na big lie , alvan get nice structures pass imo state university self ...

So what is wasteful about 27 Hospitals? Continuity is necessary for development not reversal. My grouse with Ihedioha remains destruction. If he had simply continued where Okorocha stopped without demolition Imo would have gone extremely far. Okorocha left a lot of funds and credits to bounce upon and shine but instead of simply using it he paid more attention on trying to diminish Okorocha's projects. It's the same problem Uzodinma is having now. When Uzodinma came newly and continued from where Okorocha and Ihedioha stopped this thread came alive. I remember he opened the High Court and I expected him to continue with the Prisons, Police headquarters and Airport but he suddenly changed pattern acting exactly same way as Ihedioha by demolishing roundabouts, Somto Hospital and using paid media to paint the good projects in bad light.

Those flyovers are not substandard but the adjoining roads weren't completed by the time Okorocha left and Ihedioha played politics with it by using a heavy duty machine to create a hole in one of them. If they were substandard they would have collapsed by now.

First of all Abia is not majority Ngwa. Majority of people in Abia State are combination of Akwaibom, Imo, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, other Abians, Crossriver, Rivers and Delta people living across Abia State. Even Aba as a city is not majority Ngwa. The IPOB presence in Orlu isn't overwhelming cause if it was then Imo would have been a hot bed under Okorocha.

It is very important for them to have their corporate office in Owerri. That's how it is done everywhere! Check most big manufacturing companies in Nigeria and you will see they have a corporate office either in Lagos or Abuja.

They should be building one at Wetheral or better still somewhere around New Owerri.
new owerri or port Harcourt road will be okay

My home LGA, Orlu, is not a village as you would want it to be, but the second largest urban center in Imo state after Owerri. If good roads and other urban infrastructures are provided in Orlu by IMSG, Orlu shall be a larger metropolitan city than Owerri.

It’s not senators and reps from Owerri that build the infrastructures in Owerri. Shey most of the governor's ruling imo state are from orlu ? What stops them from building or constructing good roads in orlu ?

You continue to expose how heediotic and primitive your mindset is made up.

Your love for a governor Rochas for opening most parts of Owerri....
Rochas never extended even one meter of urban expansion to other parts of Imo state in 8 years as governor of Imo state.

Your most primitive mindset would not allow you ask questions as to what can be done by our government to make entire Imo state have modern development institutions and amenities supplied by government; as you have them in Owerri - often in duplicate, and even in triples. You rather insult who asks questions.
nooo rochas will open ur village for u ? Whats the work of members of house or rep and senators what are their duties ? Just to eat money alone?

A new CBD area with minimum height of 7 floors with be icing on the cake
recreation park is very necessary

I think and industrial zone is quite a good idea, but many companies are still skeptical about investment until ANOH becomes fully operational, but I think the govt should push strongly for the establishment and have a signed agreement that stipulation conditions, as this halted the growth of Industries in Aba.

I remember the hopes and excitement about geometric power plant and how excited moribund industries within Aba axis were, but all that hope got squashed as Emeka ofor failed to understand the economic impact Barth Nnaji had in place, he basically looked at it from a business point of view.

FYI: This constant complain about hotels, are there many hotel in Owerri than needed ? Yes, but remember this isn’t built by govt, do we now start telling people how to spend there hard earn money ?
they always complain but still go to the hotels to lodge go to owerri during Xmas or Easter period u won't see a hotel that still has a vacant room
