sanctity454: Supermarket is bigger than their New Owerri branch
the place is really nice ohh , Owerri is really trying in the aspect of malls and supermarket , atleast they are giving shoprite a run for their money , I think apart from lagos I don't think they have any city in nigeria that have more malls and supermarket than owerri ...
anselem87: biggest in owerri that's what he mean, although I know that one in choba junction
how I wish they'll just buy that aladinma mall and rebrand and reopen that place is nice , one of these big companies should buy that place , maybe spa should buy it , there is one four storey building along okigwe road opposite Owerri prisons , I don't know if that place is a new shopping complex
rtdCivilservant: That means u are an old man, and u come hear to rant like a baby. It is obvious that u have been crying all just for ur selfish interest.
onuman: Imo will change, perhaps , adversely affect your brothel business in the state capital. Opinion leaders and informed minds in Imo are already kicking against the dubious practice of “build Owerri state capital first..” Opponents are people like you with brothel businesses in Owerri. You have been abusing here with many monikers against talk about modern development institutions and amenities getting extended beyond Owerri side.
sanctity454: Damn two branches in Owerri like lagos, anyway the way old property owners are selling off their property in ikenegbu is alarming, everybody wants to have shopping complex.
Idiko1: There is absolutely nothing which will justify the greed and penchant to overlook the issue of conflict of interest in the construction of Royal Palm Estate. If Okoroawusa's services to the people of Imo State who moronically elected him into office of governor of Imo State are replicated across the length of the state as he did with Royal Palm Estate, everybody in Imo State would have been singing praises of his name.
AKswift: The city needs to add health and ICT hubs to the list.
they are doing that more hospitals are coming up , the likes of medical city at egbu , epilepsy hospital at obinze, emenike hospital at aba road and the hospital that goodluck jonathan commissioned
sanctity454: No I don't have pictures, but I held it's located off ph road, a 5 floor shopping complex, with underground car park like it's Abuja branch
owerri go sweet ohhh with so many malls I swear if u get money u go enjoy the town
Kelechi121: Jabi is a lot bigger, but they do have some similarities. I think I prefer a medium size mall to a large scale mall. Many outlets in Jabi mall isn’t occupied. But with Kunoch I believe it will be mostly occupied as it will serve new Owerri. Better to have 10 medium size mostly occupied mall, than to have 5 gigantic mall with many outlet unoccupied.
sanctity454: Landmark group and kunoch group owners of protea hotel owerri, plans kunoch mall owerri sitting on a 150, 000 sq ft of land. I pray it materialize oo, port harcourt city will start having a worthy competitor
Note: kunoch group is owned by Dr Pascal Dozie Landmark group has already established an event center in owerri, with 10 retail stores within it's alley.
SmartPolician: "This is Imo State University Teaching Hospital Road, Orlu, Imo State.*
From Hope's Twitter handle.
He seems to be focusing on roads.
However, he needs to revisit Rochas' flyovers, shameful Ikemba tunnel, Multi-purpose parking lot, Centinary Towers, and other projects Rochas left unfinished.
We cannot keep wasting scarce resources like that.
PROUDIGBO: I stand to be corrected, but i think this estate in Owerri has the highest concentration of exquisite and well-appointed mansions and duplexes in the entire south-east and south-south. It's just the state of the roads that let the estate down. Anyone with an opposing opinion can as well attach a clip of the estate they think beats this one.
sanctity454: Even me the way by which non-indigenes estate coys bought the whole of airport road, Avu, irete, obinze, is frightening, their target now is okuku etc
as in ehh what we need is just roads , link up roads
sanctity454: The billion dollar question is why destroy what you can't build? The demolished tunnels has been left that way, with no plans of building building the over pass that was promised. The issue of Akachi estate is simply misappropriation of land, why not ask Rochas to pay for the land, instead of threats of demolition. Am glad PMB intervened in the matter including Apc governors. We should always encourage Aku ruo ulo instead of discouraging it. Hope doesn't own a pin in Imo state apart from his country home, he has in no way boosted the imo state economy.
he's doing all this so that imo state people can love him..
Ahamefuna0001: I can't just imagine how stupid a governor can be, why go destroy a radio station owned by your acclaimed enemies daughter? Apart from destroying a beautiful edifice giving a fine view to the area, he has automatically made the people working there to be unemployed.
Abagworo: Okorocha was really wealthy before becoming Governor. If you even start from Owerri no politician in Imo State can claim to own equal landed property as Okorocha before he became Governor. I also learnt he has always been the largest property owner in Abuja because he bought thousands of plots in the early 90s which he never sold with most of them worth more than 1 billion today. He did not acquire any new land as a sitting Governor except the Rochas Foundation College Orji which we cannot really ascribe to him cause it is for charity.
you are right don't mind these people saying thrash
asha80: was adeleke a governor when he built his own? How really rich was rochas just before he became governor of imo state? Abeg forget story
so how did adeleke get the money to build a university ?
So u expect a governor to remain the way he was before he became a governor ? See ur reasoning na.. If u are opportuned to become a governor just for a month ur status will change cos there is money in nigerian politics
PROUDIGBO: I really don't know where this talk of Rochas being 'one of the richest politicians in Nigeria' came from! I think some people where just trying to find a Igbo name to add to the list of thieving politicians that made billions of dollars from being in gov't! Some of their own policticians are so greedy they're now dollar rated billionaires, so in their usual style they look for one or two Igbo names to add to the list to make it look like it's not just their own politicians that are greedy billionaire muthafuckers!
what is this one saying? If rochas build a house they will say he used tax payers money to build a house , if he buys a car they'll say the same thing , u guys are mad , so as a governor he should be poor ? Do u know how much he makes in a month , if business men could build estates, hotels malls etc, how do u expect a governor not to afford those things ?
asha80: prolem is he built it while in office aa a governor..not hard to see that it was built with state money not private money..please as at the time was contesting to become governor he wasn't as rich as portrayed
if adeleke can build a university why can't rochas build a university ? Is adeleke richer than rochas ?
REGENMASTER: Imo state government has taken over Eastern Palm University at Ogboko in Orlu, said to be owned by former governor Rochas Okorocha.
In an announcement today, government warned all those it called ‘fraudulent claimants’ to stay away from the university.
It said its right to ownership is based on the fact that state money was used to build the school.
It warned that if they failed to stay away, they would be made to face the full weight of the law.
They have also been reminded that the government has been empowered to deal decisively with anyone or group of persons ready to test the will of government over ownership of the University.
The Executive Council of Imo State took the decision at its weekly meeting of Wednesday, February 10, 2021, presided over by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The Council accepted the White paper Report on Land Use and Related Matters which recognises that the Eastern Palm University is owned by the state.
It therefore resolved that all necessary steps must be taken to recover the University from fraudulent claimants.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said the Eastern Palm University has been accredited by National Universities Commission (NUC) as the second Imo State owned University.
The White Paper, according to the Commissioner, recommended that the University should be recovered and appropriately designated as a State University in accordance with the laid down guidelines of NUC.
Consequently, Council has directed the relevant ministries to take immediate steps to implement the decisions of the Executive Council, in accordance with the White Paper Report.
The Council noted that the university was built with Imo State tax payers money.
how did they know it was built with tax payers money ? So someone like rochas one of the richest politicians in nigeria cannot afford to build a private university ?
