Your support documents already carries information on this , why repeating them? Na wetin dey vex visa officers be this. Long write ups, and rhetorics.

They don't have time to be reading ,my previous Schengen visas, I didn't even have substantial monies in the account, just be genuine with your intentions.

I am sure you know visa officers have a number of files they must attend to daily, so they don't have time.

When you begin say too much and list too many things, you create an atmosphere for suspicion. (just as you can see on the last post for a rejection a page back)

And you know these people are psychologists.

You people don't even know the techniques of visa applications, "sometimes" you have to even use reverse psychology for them too, depending on the circumstance.

Simple, Straight and keep your letters short but detailed.

Too lengthy in my opinion.

Your support documents are sufficient to back up the initial letter.
Cut the stories,these people don't have time.

Enclose your personal introductory letter in a page, supported by your credentials.

In your case, you have to mail home affairs so they can reset your application. Attach a screenshot and circle where the issue comes from.

Like i always say, no one is above refusal from these consulates.
You read recently about the refusal of a Top Military Personality.
It is not usually about bank statements sometimes, nor ties.
it is mostly about the information from recent discoveries and probably some affiliations.

Maintaining a straight forward and less bogus information is a necessity. There has to be a balance. I am not sure if he said he was paying you a visit in his letters, but even this information you posted here can raise suspicion.

Since you are in France, you can help him appeal to nantes. Then, await response to reapply.
Caution - Do not be in a haste to reapply, it can lead to another refusal.

In Europe, some countries like spain has also stopped all Study applications from inside the country as I learnt as of May 20th 2025. More European countries are moving quickly and tightening up immigration.
The UK 🇬🇧 too are talking tough. Trump has been heavy on deportations.

However, there are other visa categories that you can use to stay inside these countries on a tourist visa.

Probably, you need ask more, some kind of visa categories I think, you can still apply from inside.

On the 26th of April, I tried to apply for an Evisa for my staff on the E portal however, this was around the time that the payment process was not working, so at the point of payment,t I git the blank processing page, just like other fonts here have complained. So I proceeded to the VFS appointment on the 2nd of May, where she went to physically submit her application.

She is yet to receive her passport back from the Embassy however, she forwarded an email notification she received from the SA Embassy today stating "correspondence for your attention - EVisa Application" (attached below).
I went to the Evisa portal and noticed that the application that I initially tried to submit for her on the 26th of April, which wouldn't submit due to non-completion of payment, had magically submitted and been marked as paid.
I clicked on the application reference, and I saw that it had the "eye icon" marked - Required Documents - 1st Notice.
Upon clicking on that, it downloaded a letter stating that she should submit all corresponding documents for her application (which I had already initially submitted for her). Please see below for reference.

My question is, should I just ignore, since she's already submitted her application through VFS, or should I go ahead and reupload documents? How do I go about doing so, because the e-visa portal isn't allowing me to reupload documents?

Evisa applications are not same as the physical ones.
So please proceed with the online one you were on earlier.
Whilst you await outcome of the physical application.

Good thing is that, you have an alternative now. Hopefully either of them will come.

@hunee, wait o, it's like SA High Commission is now processing applications fast. When I returned two weeks ago, I immediately reapplied for a longer time. Submitted on 13th morning and left for Moscow that night. I've just received an email requesting for my passport (exactly one week after submission).

I was almost saying same. Someone reported 4days processing time.

How about just entering with the right visa in the first place? Tourist visa, visitor visa—same thing.

Even though you have a 10-year visa, you're only allowed to stay for a maximum of 6 months per entry. Anything beyond that on a visitor visa means you've overstayed.

So let’s work with the 6-month limit.

You’ll be looking for admission into a school. The average admission process takes time. Even if you get accepted quickly, you’ve already lost some of that 6-month window.

Applying for a study permit from inside Canada currently takes about 5 weeks, but we all know IRCC can take much longer—let’s say 2 months realistically.

And IRCC isn’t stupid. They can sense when someone’s trying to game the system.

So again, why not just apply for a study visa from the start?

Thank you Hunee, it is a long term visitor's visa for postdoc. The condition did not request that I must have a return or onward ticket like the condition stated on short term visitor's visa

I called TLS first, they stated non-significant changes can be made at the center. It's a common request. I submitted my docs today with no issues at all. I had to change my dates because the only available appointment dates were too close to my travel date. It's a common issue. I didn't have to change the details of my travel insurance as this already reflected the new date.

You could reschedule for "one time" only either by calling call center or DYI. I agree this can be done prior to your submission
But you see the changes and modifications allowable at the point of submission is a new feature offered by TLS at the center and the whole 12k talk. They are responding to feedbacks for better service.

Yeah the same thing happened to me. My travel date was so close to the appointment date. The good news is that you can make changes of your date, hotel and flight at the visa center. They may charge 12k for it.

For you to know that they read reviews on public platforms. I posted this few weeks ago when I was talking about need to confirm availability of appointments to serve as guide for filling application forms.
In totality, the essence of this , is to assuage concerns of statutory processing time which is about 3 - 4 weeks.

Take it into consideration, anytime you alter your documents or as the case maybe, effect changes at the center in Adeola Odeku, or Abuja, you are also going to change dates on your personal, company , maybe insurance letters too.

So be guided and always plan ahead.

The embassy of France or TLS needs to develop a webpage as that of VFS whereby you book appointment (to get a date) before you fill forms , this in turn gives a guide to plan your submission in accordance with processing times.

I think the retaking of passport pix is redundant cos they will still take a photo of you during the biometrics which will be lodged in their system and it's this pix that will be used to track you when you travel, except they are looking for any reason just to deny people.

These criteria has been long standing. When you enrol at the university for a degree online, you also file an application through the administrative block of the department.

During this process, you affix your passport photograph on your documents.

The biometrics is an advancement, the paper is for archiving.

Anything can happen to your online documents, the one you submit is a backup.

So put it in that context and relate it together.
