Professor Adeniran's choice is a game changer...
1. it will nullify Fayose's vice presidential ambition, he is also from Ekiti just like Fayose 2. it will checkmate Wike's plan to impose his stooge 3. It will afford PDP of the opportunity to present a balanced front in 2019 4. It will whittle down the overbearing influence of the governors 5. Atiku's presidential ambition might be threatened - his backers might not back Atiku 6. Obasanjo would not be able to fight PDP so well in 2019- Professor Adeniran is Obj's man any day. 7. 2019 will surely be interesting. |

This is wrong.
Ephesians 6:12 KJV For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The devil is our enemy, he is the one setting your relatives friends, Co workers etc against you. If God kills your bro which devil is using as obstruction against you, Satan will still assign another member of your family to continue with the task. If God kills that one too.... Who will be left?
Why not simply direct your target at Satan? Pray to God to useless all seen and unseen power, plan and purpose of devil and all his agents in your life as you walk with God and "earnestly contend for the faith"
Nairalanders, if God be for you, who can be against you? Nobody... At the mention of Jesus, every kneel shall bow
Thanks to my Bible and my Pastor W. F. K

hotdealz: Luke 19:27 Rather than read the whole chapter you just jumped to conclusions based on a verse. Jesus was telling the story of a king and that verse contained the words of the king and not that of Jesus. Jesus Christ said clearly ''pray for your enemies'' Why do you think despite being a poor teacher Jesus still remains the man who has commanded the most followership in the history of mankind? Because he clearly said ''follow peace with all men''. He never killed a soul and instructed his followers to do likewise. |

SouthEastFacts: Let assume this is even true. Total investments in Lagos is worth $136 bn If Igbos hold 10% of those investments, it means Ndi Igbos' investment in Lagos alone worth $13.6 bn. (4.9 Trillion NGN). This leaves Non-Igbo investments in Lagos to $122.4 bn. When this $122.4 bn is spread among the other 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria and all the countries with investments in Lagos, it'll show that Igbos has the largest investments in Lagos. But Igbo will be leaving with at least 6 million people that is 6 million people to worry less about, Lagos infrastructure will last longer, crime rate will go down and more investors will come in to fill the gap with less baggage and liabilities.so using a simple accounting logic of assets minus liabilities presently Ndigbo's contribution to Lagos is at a net loss. |

Now check the proportion of SW, NE, SS, NC and NW debts to their GDPs and compare with SE's.
Inspite of how massively Lagos had borrowed, 2/3 of their population, that is, 67% are living in slum.

Let me respond to the bolden with just 3 points. Refer to our previous posts for more, 1. Enugu was named along Barcelona in the top 100 most resilient cities in the world before Lagos. 2. Onitsha is the busiest and largest market in West Africa. 3. SE is the least indebted region in the country with just 7.5%
We are planning an article on IGR and Poverty rate in SE.
Stay tuned as we send liars to hell.
#Thanks America is the most heavily indebted country in the world and yet it is the richest Dangote is the most heavily indebted man in Nigeria and yes he is the richest South East is the least indebted region in Nigeria because it is the poorest, who in his right mind Will lend to the south east? How will they pay back? Where is the investment? The revenue generating activities that will be enough to pay back any loan given to the south east states? The east depends on oil money from the south south , get it's food from the North and imports all his goods from the west. It is not an economically viable region!!! |

LordAdam16: You can't expect people's mindset to change when the status quo remains the same. People would pay taxes when the system works. Nigerians are living abroad in working countries and paying taxes.
You don't expect ppl to overpay for electricity, source for water themselves, pay for their security (civil defense), ply unsafe roads, survive without regular salaries, and then tell them to change their mindset. That's an insult. Change your ways and they'll change their mindset. It's simple reciprocity.
Because it is far easier for the government to change their ways. Far easier.
You were talking about paying the price of restructuring, like increasing taxes was only going to happen under restructuring. Which is scary.
And I'm saying, restructure or not, taxes will increase and compliance will become stricter. So, it's better to restructure so you can better monitor and demand accountability, than stay in a centrist, non-restructured, wasteful Nigeria where you wouldn't be able to monitor or demand accountability. Well this is like '' the egg vs hen" debate, which needs to come first? A change in people's mentality or a change in Government thinking? While it is might look easier for the government to change its ways rather than the people to change their mentality, pray tell me how many governments worldwide have brought change to their people without being forced by the same people. Even this democracy we have, did the military willingly gave up power? The people are the engine of change, has it not been said that the people gets the government they deserve? |
Properties › Re: See The New Outrageous Kano State Property Tax (pics) by huptin(m): 8:05am On Oct 09, 2017 |
LordAdam16: Restructuring would likely be by regions.
And the issue with taxes is that it'd only get worse, whether we restructure or not. That much is certain.
So don't blackmail people into rejecting restructuring on the false hope that it'd magically make the government stop emphasizing on increasing their tax revenue.
With the current centralist government, it's hard to hold anyone responsible for the rot. In a restructured Nigeria, it'd be much easier. If you have a grievance, it'd be far easier to mobilize people to storm your state or regional capital, than travel all the way to Abuja.
If the country is working, few people would complain about a 0.05% property tax. In the US, the average is 1.15%. That's over 20 times higher.
But as the country stands, every kobo of tax paid is a waste. Complete waste and is actually extortion.
And another issue is that they're backdating the tax. If they started sharing this year, there's no reason why they have to calculate from the start of the fifth republic. The OP's uncle should liaise with the landlord's association and take the issue to the state house of assembly or charge the government to court.
-Lord You mean your idea of restructuring? I support restructuring based on States and yes.. I am entitled to my own opinion. I am not scaring any one, in any case restructuring has become inevitable all I am saying is : restructuring just like democracy is not a magic wand that solves all our problems, If restructuring must work then our mind set must change. You can't be tax averse and yet scream restructuring, it does not work that way, the oil that was fueling the irresponsible. behaviour of looking to FG for everything is depleting and every Nigerian must go back to the time tested method of paying tax to government and ensure that they monitor the government to ensure that the revenue earned is judiciously expended. Nothing scary in that? or is there? |
Properties › Re: See The New Outrageous Kano State Property Tax (pics) by huptin(m): 7:28am On Oct 09, 2017 |
This is just a peep into what a restructured Nigeria will look like, every state will be at liberty to tax its citizen accordingly since they will be expected to depend less on the FG for survival.
Next time before joining the chorus of restructuring, think and ask yourself, is my state ready for this? what will be the revenue earning potentials of my state?
If I am staying out of my state of origin, how will this(restructuring) benefit me? As States will become more autonomous and may decide to even introduce a dichotomous tax system between indigenes and settlers.
Restructuring is the way to go, but then we must all be prepared to pay the price |
