The problem should be solved from the grass roots. I myself don't like the idea of hanging clothes infront of a house.

Damn! It makes me sick when eva I see clothes hung in front terraces of beautiful houses.... 1004 estate in VI as case study.

Lagos state building codes mandate a set-back of 3meters(10ft) from ur fence and 6meters from d road. These setbacks always serve as space for packing cars and HANGING OF CLOTHES.
When an Architect designs a house, he keeps these rules in consideration.

The owner of the house will take this design to the Town Planning Authority for approval and this house will be approved, But when he comes bak he arranges with one quack engr who will increase the number of rooms in this house thereby ignoring the setbacks.

The same people from Town planning will come for inspection, and when they notice that the rules have been violated, this client will offer a settlement to them.

This is d reason why you see many beautiful houses in lagos don't spaces for packing cars.
