Macphenson:
Any investigation that the DSS is not picking up Lere Olayinka and locking him up as EL Rufai was done is a huge joke.
Exactly.... Gbamsolutely. We're should go to jail for invasion of fundamental human rights and data breach but Wike in all his foolishness wouldn't see this. Just be boasting and flexing ministerial muscle up and down is what he would be doing.

Those enlightened Nigeriaslns that understand that this country is in the hands of dictators and emperors shouldn't sit back and watch them use impoverished Nigerians to rig elections in 2027. They should come out and vote this useless government out.

You should be applauding NDC and Aisha, see how they resolving their issues. Leaders and followers sitting in one room resolving their differences. No family exist without their issues however NDC's family is different from others because they understand the bigger goal and not one man from one corner dictate and be emperor overall.
Business › Re: Discos Earn ₦600 Billion In Three Months Despite Blackouts by hush15: 11:29am On Jun 03
obviously, you reading my post from a biased mind. I never mentioned politics. you brought it in. Nobody has said they shouldn't charge. you said APC government has refused them to go ahead with cost reflective billing. either way, thats is not my point but yours.

my own point is service should be provided and a good service will always be paid for. Nigerians have always paid for light if there is. not that you are demanding for payment to ensure good service. After paying more and the service isn't good nko? What happens?? This mediocre thinking of payment before service should be erased from our hearts and mind. It is one the things that has brought Nigeria to its knees. That is why government do nothing for citizens too and politicians takes citizens for a ride. after voting, nothing. Remember the famous Tinubu speech on electricity! Nigerians have the opportunity to put service before payments now. If you did not provide service in your first term, why should we give you a second term and even Tinubu has attested to that

So please, if anybody wants to be a service provider in Nigeria, if you know you can't provide the service, just walk away. don't start what you can't provide for and be demanding compensation.
nairalanda1:
The truth is, at the end, the discos have to charge cost reflective tarrifs...to provide the services you want.

MTN and all of them are able to provide you with the services you want because from day 1, they were allowed to set their prices. Mtel, government owned alternative, was providing services at half the cost of MTN ,ECONET, and GLO.

Mtel eventually collapsed because they could not make enough profits to improve their services. While MTN and econet were providing home internet from 2008 onwards, if not earlier, Mtel could do nothing like that.

It has nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with economics. Even when the sector was controlled by government, the same issues.

I will leave you with the words of Professor Barth Nnaji...who was a former power minister under GEJ (before you call him apc supporter), and an actual innovator in solutions for our power sector AND owns Geothermic , who provides light to the good people of Aba in Abia state

And you want them to provide light when government is not letting them charge the kind of money that would enable them to make the money needed to provide light?

Ok. o.

Some of you are government supporters without realizing you are government supporters. APC is preventing the power sector from making money by forcing them to charge too low prices. And you are backing the government here.
Let them talk to Nigerians and let Nigerians know APC government is the one behind their darkness then.

ClassicMan202:
Tinubu is keeping blind eyes because he needs Wike for 2027 election... If not, Na state of emergency straight
While that is true, the main reason is because he knows Wike rigged for him in 2023 first and can will tell Nigerians how if he doesn't keep to promise.

None the less, plus him, plus Wike, the will become a thing of the past come 2027

Yes, they raised initial funds...but you see, once the initial funds finish, they need to raise more and keep on raising more...for things like upgrades, maintenance, staff salaries, etc etc...

And the money comes from......cost reflective tarrifs.
So let them reflect all these you mentioned on their service. If they provide light, ofcourse people will pay. Not paying for services not rendered

stuffs2002:
Why would the president rig the 2027 election when it didn't rig the last elections.

The only reason most of you are crying rigging is because you know you can't win the 2027 election so you want to spoil the joy of whoever wins in 2027.

Same thing your people always does when we were in the university because anytime you do well in any examination, they will start spreading false and malicious news about you that you saw the question papers before everyone or that you bribed the lecturer or something else like that.
Imagine, Tinubu didn't rig 2023 elections. Let me for a minute agree with you there for a minute, it was rigged for him and the man that rigged it for him became ambassador designate. He didn't rig it, it was rigged for him in Rivers state, and made that nuisance in FCT, a minister. That one now has made himself a God, that he has lost every sense of reason for power. The only reason Tinubu is looking the other way is because Wike rigged for him and he knows Wike has that against him. So he has to endure and that is the white elephant in the room everybody knows but refuse to talk about.

Keep deceiving yourselves, not Nigerians.

And how do you provide good service without enough cash to do so?

ok.o.
So when they went into business, they never had intention of providing good services before? Banks recapitalized recently. Companies goes to the capital market to raise funds.

So they are in business just for the fun of it. They should not worry, Nigerians have started being independent of them. It is not new. We provide everything for ourselves.

stuffs2002:
I don't bother with OBIDIENTS because they have been blinded by hate that they can never ever see any good in anyone that is not Igbo.

Same way you people hated Buhari even though he helped the south east far more than any president in the history of Nigeria. Buhari built the second Niger bridge yet Igbos continue to insult him daily. They even wished him dead while he was president and claimed that a clone called Jubrin from Sudan was the one ruling Nigeria at the time
I don't hate anybody, I just don't condone incompetence, i dont reinforce failures. I don't indulge people who have shown they have nothing to offer.

You said Buhari built Niger bridge, you tell me how that has influence the living standard of Nigerians. Has it made Bread cheaper, has it even increase the numbers of cars plying the bridge. You know how much you buy tokunbo corolla before 2023, but today in Naija used car is even more expensive than tokunbo cars then.
Governance is not just about building bridges and flyover. It is bring succor to the people. It is about creating opportunities for everyone, not just party members. It is about taking side and more importantly the side of the people, not just trying to be politically correct. It is about building systems and institutions not impunity and powerplay because you a sitting president. It is about ensuring the horse is before the cart and carrying it along, not the cart before the horse. It is about transparency, accountability and not shrouded in secrecy. All these, tinubu has failed and you know it and it is you and your likes that hate Nigerians that you don't see pain of Nigerians and how the incompetence of those in Aso rock is behind it. You have chosen to defend failures at the expense of pains and lives of Nigeria.

Must it be Tinubu, if he failed when he had one more term at stake, what do you expect when he has nothing at stake. The next four years if given the chance, he would be the real him, insensitive, power drunk and even more assertive in his recklessness of power. The tinubu I know would only start putting machineries in place that will see that his choices continually remain President just as he decides who rules Lagos. The access to power must be his continually and be claiming their successes as they continue to build on lies and deceits.

Is that how we want Nigeria to be governed...
Business › Re: Discos Earn ₦600 Billion In Three Months Despite Blackouts by hush15: 7:38am On Jun 03
nairalanda1:
Before anyone shouts,.the actual amount of money needed to improve power supply is....10 trillion or more annually for at least 5 years.

That 600.billion divided among nine companies is very scanty
But that doesn't imply the should put the cart before the horse. You provide good service, you get paid. Not pay to get good service
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Prefers 'Food Is Ready' Politics - Wike (Video) by hush15: 7:35am On Jun 03
stuffs2002:
Tinubu failed yet he has improved Nigeria economy

Tinubu failed yet he is improving Nigeria roads, hospitals, universities, etc

Tinubu failed yet he has arrested prosecuted terrorists like Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa. A lot of peace have returned to the south east after terrorists and fraud like Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa were arrested.

I will 100% support Tinubu for the great and positive work he has done in prosecuting the enemies of Nigeria like Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa
Which economy did he improve? What is the price of fuel, electricity, gas, yam, transport, even drivers license today...

All those maggo maggo face lift that he is doing, trying to twist figures and narratives without addressing real issues like wastage and corruption, have no impact on the economy. They only look good to outsiders but it is completely useless to those inside. It is when those they lied to come in is when they realize inside is not what they claim it is.

So tinubu should stop deceiving himself and Nigerians. Real changes start from within. If Nigerians can't feel any impact, it is only a matter of time before the uselessness of those reforms is evident to the world. A leader that is not morally sound cannot bring morality into anything.
