PoliticsRe: Senator Annie Okonkwo Pulls Out 10,000 Apc Supporters For Comrade Tony Nwoye.... by hushmail: 2:38am On Nov 13, 2013
As the countdown to the Anambra governorship election tails off to the final day, it is common knowledge that one of the numerous candidates will emerge as the governor when the good people of Anambra would have cast their votes to select Peter Obi’s successor.

What is not common knowledge, however, is that Tony Nwoye, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 16 governorship election, was part of the civilian thug that assisted Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ige who forcibly kidnapped the ‘illegal’ governor Chris Nwabueze Ngige in 2003.

It is also not common knowledge that Tony Nwoye led the irate arsonists that burnt down two radio stations in Anambra state, government vehicles, torched the state government house and held hostage members of the state House of Assembly ostensibly to force them to sign a document that Chirs Ngige, then governor of Anambra State, had resigned as governor in November 2004.

These illegalities came on the heels of a gentleman agreement between the self-imposed godfather of Anambra politics, Chief Chris Ubah, and Dr. Chris Ngige which had gone awry and Chris Ubah was bent on dealing with Ngige whom he felt had betrayed him and therefore was not to be trusted anymore.

Among the members of the Chris Ubah-led gang that destabilised Anambra in 2004 was Mr. Tony Nwoye, the PDP flag bearer in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election, who was president of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in 2004 and led a group of irate students to cause the debacle in Anambra, and Chief Obinna Uzoh, PDP guber aspirant who lost to Tony Nwoye in the PDP guber primaries and has made several attempts at the Anambra government house without success.

Others are Mr. Uchenna Emordi, who was the chairman of PDP in Anambra in 2004, and Mr. Ossy Nsugbe, known within political circles to be Chief Chris Ubah’s political errand boy.

In the unfolding political era, it will interest Anambra people to know that this gang of actors are not yet done with Anambra State as all plans are still in the offing to see that they take control of Anambra State by hook or crook.

Presently, the same group has propped up Mr. Nwoye as the candidate of the PDP with the backing of the political henchman of Anambra State, Chief Arthur Eze, who is Chris Ubah’s political godfather.

Is it this same Tony Nwoye that perpetrated all these punishable crimes against Anambra State that PDP is trying to foist on Anambra people? This newfound love between estranged godfathers and godsons is being fostered by no single reason beyond sharing the collective patrimony of Anambra people and Tony Nwoye is nothing but a point man and front for Chris Ubah and Arthur Eze.

How will an egghead state like Anambra that boasts of the likes of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Prof Chinua Achebe, Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu, Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Prof Kenneth Onwuka Dike, Prof Chike Obi, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and a host of others allow a gang of upstarts like Chris Ubah and Tony Nwoye to rule over them in this 21st century when excellence in business and governance defines the future?

At this juncture, it will be proper to state with all sense of modesty that the Igbo man, nay, the Anambra man, is blessed with a high Intelligence Quotient (IQ) by Providence and therefore should apply all available wisdom at their disposal including street wisdom in choosing their governor.

This is definitely a defining moment in the lives of Anambra people and any wrong choice in electing the next governor will certainly pull Anambra back to the dark days of Chris Ubah-Chris Ngige debacle.

August 26, 2013
Prof. Attahiru Jega
Chairman,
Independent National Electoral
Commission (lNEC)
Through Resident Electoral
Commissioner, Anambra State
House of Assembly Road,
Awka
Dear Sir,
PETITION TO EXCLUDE SENATOR CHRIS NGIGE AS ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) FACTIONAL CANDIDATE FOR ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 16, 2013 FOR NON•COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 87 OF THE ELECTORAL ACT, 2010 (AS AMENDED).
1. I write to you Sir, on the above subject matter, for myself as a Registered Voter and on behalf of the teeming members of Conference of Nigeria Registered Voters (CNRV) in Anambra State who have sufficient legal interest in seeing that the next governor of Anambra State emerges through due compliance with the Electoral Act devoid of rigging and imposition. See photocopy of my Voter's Card.
2. I hereby formally petition to your commission against the illegal adoption and imposition of Senator Chris Ngige as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Anambra State in November 16, 2013 election by a faction of the South-East caucus of the party led by Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, last Friday, August 23, 2013 at Emmaus House,Awka.
3. It may interest your commission to know that at the time of this illegal imposition, there was neither any existing interim State Executive or State Chairman of the party recognized by your commission, nor any congress or primary election or any issuance of party nomination forms to the three contestants or aspirants namely, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, Senator Chris Ngige and Engr. Hygers Igwebuike, which are the condition precedents for a valid nomination of a governorship candidate of a party under the Electoral Act.
4. The said faction of APC, through Gov. Okorocha, was quoted as pronouncing that the September 2, 2013 fanthom date for the conduct of the party's primaries to impose Senator Ngige "would be a mere formality because we already have a candidate". See photocopy of Press Reports.

5. The same Senator Ngige was imposed on the Anambra State Voters as governor through fraudulent election rigging process in 2003 governorship election as confirmed by the Enugu Appeal Court judgment in Peter Obi V INEC.
6. For the 3 years of his illegal tenure, Anambra State Voters and indeed the good people of Anambra State suffered lawlessness. Relationship with the then President Olusegun Obasanjo was officially severed by then Gov. Ngige leading to the running of a parallel government in the state. Anambra voters cannot afford to go through this same harrowing experience again.

7. The above adoption and imposition of Senator Ngige by a faction of APC was done in clear violation or non - compliance with the extant provision of Section 87 subsections (1) (2) (3) (4) (b) (i) (ii) and (9) of the Electoral Act, 2010 (As Amended), which provided for nomination of governorship candidates of political parties where there are two or more aspirants. In the case of APC, Mr. Ezeemo, Senator Ngige and Engr. Igwebuike are lawful aspirants entitled to contestAPC primaries.
8. Section 87 subsection (9) specifically provides: "where a political party fails to comply with the provisions of this Act in the conduct of its primaries, its candidate for the election shall not be included in the election for the particular position" .
9. I therefore petition to you Sir, to use your good office to exclude Senator Ngige as APC factional candidate for Anambra State governorship Election on November 16, 2013 as a consequence of this flagrant violation or non-compliance with the above - cited provisions of the Electoral Act.
10. I must warn, and very seriously too, that if. this petition is treated with levity, I shall have no other option than to lodge this petition in the Federal High Court of Justice under the Originating Summons to seek the interpretations of the above - cited provision of the Electoral Act and for Consequential Declarations and Orders to nullify the said APC imposed candidacy.
ALUTA CONTINUA!
I have the honour to be
Sir.

BARRISTER JEZIE EKEJIUBA
PRESIDENT, CNRV / ONITSHA BASE

PoliticsOpen Letter To Apc, Bisi Akande & Lai Mohammed Anambra Primary Elections: Disqua by hushmail(op): 2:20pm On Aug 27, 2013
OPEN LETTER TO APC, BISI AKANDE & LAI MOHAMMED
ANAMBRA PRIMARY ELECTIONS: DISQUALIFY NGIGE NOW!
This open letter is to bring to the notice of the general public, particularly, APC members, APC leadership, Bisi Akande and Lai Mohammed, some irregularities being perpetrated by Dr. Ngige in connection with the forthcoming APC primaries in Anambra State. Specifically, these contraventions are against the APC guidelines for the nomination of candidate for the office of governor as specified by APC leadership.
This contravention has to do with Sections 2 and 12 of the guidelines. The APC guidelines for Primary elections states inter alia:
2. Minimum requirements
Must not have been convicted and sentenced for an offence involving dishonesty or found guilty of contravention of the Code of Conduct within a period of 10 years before the date of the election.
12. Electoral Process
For Governorship aspirants, Ward Congresses employing direct open ballot in which members line up behind an aspirant poster or his/her representative is adopted, results shall be announced immediately at the ward. Final collation of results shall be made at the state capital and the winner announced accordingly.
Dr. Ngige did not satisfy the first condition, because in 2006, he was found guilty by a competent tribunal to have facilitated the fraud the made him governor, and he was punished by depriving him of the position. Also remember that he openly confessed to President Obasanjo how he and Chris Uba connived to rig the Anambra elections.
Ngige also is guilty of contravening the section 12 of the electoral guidelines. For now, with his position and connections and contacts in INEC, he has compiled names of some of his supporters and forwarded same to INEC Anambra as the list of authentic officers of the APC in Anambra.
It is trite law that one can’t be a judge in his own case; neither can one be an umpire and a player at the same time. By this action, Ngige has effectively sealed the result of the yet to be conducted primaries in Anambra State, if it is allowed to stand.
Hence the purpose of the letter. Am not familiar with the leadership of APC but certainly Lai Mohammed is a name that is associated with the new party. On many occasions, you had assured the general public and your teeming supporters that APC will correct all the evils of PDP, the Anambra case is a litmus one. If Ngige’s list is not withdrawn immediately from INEC, then it is no longer a level playing field, neither is it a free, fair and credible primaries as promised by APC leadership.
One simply wonders why all the manipulations of Ngige are receiving the tacit approval of the party leadership. Perhaps, because, he is one them, or simply because the leadership are far removed from the Anambra political arena to fully appreciate what is going on. However, a simple question each and every one of the leadership should ask his or herself: If Ngige cannot win the primaries without manipulation, what are his chances in the election proper?
The leadership of APC has worked really hard to put up such a formidable party, a party that without equivocation will most likely present the next president of Nigeria; the selfish ambition of one of its leaders should not be allowed to stand, less it ruins the party for everyone else.

PoliticsAnambra Apc Primaries: A Case Of Three Against One by hushmail(op): 6:28am On Aug 27, 2013
In a very short time from now, the newly formed mega party All Progressives Congress (APC) will be conducting its first ever primaries in Nigeria. Venue will be the Anambra political landscape. Events of the past few days have unravelled several new hidden secrets.
The heading for this write up should have been David versus Goliath but, that will not enable the reader understand the different actors involved in this script; rather three against one aptly portrays it. As the contest progresses, the three actors in one corner are Rochas, Ngige, and Annie, while in the other corner is Ezeemo.
Rochas with all his experiences in politics, three times presidential aspirant, political godfather, and the executive governor of Imo state, with the entire political arsenal of Imo state the southern neighbour of Anambra Sate at his beck and call. Ngige, one time governor, serving senator and Officer Order of the Niger (OON). And Annie Okonkwo, two time governorship aspirant, one time senator and political godfather, and Deputy national chairman, APC South (not Southeast!). All these heavy weights are amassed against a simple and humble Ezeemo, a political neophyte.
From all indications, it is an uneven contest and the outcome already known to watchers, but this is politics, the permutations do not always turn out as expected, because human beings are truly unpredictable. Who they root for in the morning may not be the same person who gets their undivided attention in the evening. Such is life.
However, as Anambra APC members go into the primaries, the foremost issue at the bottom of their mind should be the future of Anambra State. Who has the best interest of Anambra state at heart? Rochas for one, has never lived in Anambra State, has no investments here, and cannot truly speak for Anambrarians. All his actions in the unfolding saga is simply trying to be more catholic than the Pope or crying more than the bereaved. He has no interest in Anambra wellbeing, his interest is to foment trouble and be to Southeast what Tinubu is to Southwest.
Sen. Ngige before now was known as the people’s governor, because of the injustices he suffered in the hands of the Ubah dynasty, but today, Peter Obi has shown that Ngige himself is simply a thief, because there is more a governor could do, which Ngige failed to do. As Soludo analyzed it in the 2010 election, there was pitch black darkness in Anambra, Ngige came and lit a candle, the people rejoiced; Peter Obi came and lit a lantern, the people clapped; but what is needed in this day and age are florescent lights. If Ngige has the best interest of Anambra at heart, he would have performed more than he did, and he would neither have rigged election to get into the government house nor gone to shrine to swear allegiance to a god (Holy Mary mother of God! He wears two finger Rosaries in his hands).
Sen. Annie, a completely Aba brought up (Nwa Aba), with his business interest at Aba cannot be said to be in love with Anambra, for he has done nothing Anambrarians will be proud to attribute his name to. His stint at the hollowed chambers was simply uneventful.
Enter Ezeemo, a well known philanthropist, with his business empire in Anambra, who organized a 5 day value re-orientation seminar to help Anambrarians see things differently and in a better light can be said to have the ultimate welfare of Anambrarians as his burning passion. His business empire provides jobs for thousands of Anambrarians. Ezeemo’s only political achievement is winning round one; he has single handed fought the trio of Rochas, Annie and Ngige to a standstill on the issue of candidate anointing and consensus.
As the gladiators prepare for round two, the people of Anambra State owe it a duty to themselves to put these insincere and selfish politicians who are only out to feather their nest to shame by supporting the only aspirant who has consistently over the years shown his support and love for the people of Anambra State. Ezeemo can only be compared to the lead actor in a Hollywood blockbuster, Spartacus who has been ordained by the gods to be great. Despite all the challenges, the stumbling blocks, the hiccups, the road blocks etc. at the end he was able to lead his people to freedom. This freedom is what awaits Anambra citizens as they go into primaries to choose their APC flag bearer. It looks like an impossible task, but it is a task that must be achieved for our sake, the sake of our children, grand children, and future generations to come.

Nonsense, that NUJ house is question is better than Peter Obi's own house in Agulu. How can he give Ezeemo money to build a palatial house for NUJ while he doesnt have one at his own village? Lets face the facts. Some people have started getting jittery even before the whistle is blown!

PoliticsRe: Anambra 2014: Apc Makes U- Turn, Decides To Conduct Primaries For Ngige, Ezemo by hushmail: 4:20pm On Aug 26, 2013
Meanwhile, Daily Sun can authoritatively reveal that Governor Okorocha was instrumental to the presentation of Ngige as the consensus candidate of APC in Anambra.

It was gathered that Okorocha, in what seemed a political masterstroke, had single-handedly taken it upon himself to ensure that there’s not only primaries to pick the governorship candidate for APC in Anambra but also to have Ngige as the sole aspirant.

the reporter who wrote the above statement must now be wondering where he went wrong, since APC has agreed to hold primaries! I support Ezeemo for sticking to his guns and demanding primaries. the likes of Rochas should be told in clear terms that the cannt control everybody. Imagine coming from Imo to impose a common election rigger on the good people of Anambra state.
