Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, at the weekend ended speculations that the current administration will revoke contracts awarded under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Fashola spoke in Abuja at the Nigerian Pension Industry Strategy Implementation Roadmap meeting.

The former Lagos governor lamented how successive governments revoked contracts of previous regimes, noting that the practice destroyed investor confidence in an economy.


The minister stated that if approved contracts must be touched, the best approach was to renegotiate rather than outright revocation.

“We must not play politics with our economy. Investors want continuity,” he said.

Fashola warned against playing politics with economic survival, as investors want continuity of government policies.

The Malawi government has resolved to close all south African owned businesses today, the 24th of April.

The decision is not unconnected to the ongoing Xenophobic massacre in South Africa, where two Malawians were killed..

However, after 390 Malawians were resuced from south African two days ago, the government has decided to for now place embargo on South African companies such as ShopRite, Games ,PEP among others operating in the country.

I made a call of 1min 3secs nd was surprised to see MTN charge me 4 1min 5secs, nd ever since then hv bn wondering to what extent this guy's can go to milk Nigerians. Nw imagine if 30million customers are charged extra 2secs for calls made daily, hw much do u think MTN will make rippin us off.
Has any1 noticed same thing too? If no, check ur call duration nd check the duration of call u r charged for ( 4 MTN Subscribers)
When will these rip off end by these corporate thieves?
