It was only in 2019 that his popularity dropped against Sanwo Olu .

In 2015 ,he polled 44.64% against Ambode .

Obanikoro also performed well against Fashola polling 383k votes against the latters 599k votes

Also,they always performed well in the presidential elections too but failed woefully in the just concluded one .

voting began late in few areas because of logistic constraints or insecurity. IMO , the only upset to my permutations before the election is Lagos and Rivers . The other outcomes are near perfect.

Tinubu should have won Lagos in a landslide

Atiku should have won Rivers in a landslide.

But fault-lines like religion and tribe in Tinubu’s candidacy was exploited to overturn his victory in Lagos while Wike factor overturned Atiku’s chances in Rivers . Still Rivers should have naturally deflected towards Labour Party but Wike is too big to bow down to Obi hence his decision to align with Tinubu . Which is an ingenious idea.

The reasons Atiku failed to get bloc votes in the north is because

1) it’s not the north’s turn !
2) he has no messiah figure or cult following like Buhari
3) Tinubu is influential in the north
