I see @Agba is back, welcome from the land of the mute according to @yayira .Its like you are on Dominique's (don't know who that is) watch-list, so tread carefully Sir . |
TradeInvestGal:Welcome Sis, happy to have you here. I actually wish for more ladies to the Forum. |
Bezzle:Happy new Month Sir, and also to everyone! Please do post more often, contribute, ask questions and seek for investment advise as you already know there are many intelligent ogas here to give their diverse opinions upon which you could base your investment decisions on what best suits you. |
Onuokwu:I agree. Pretty much so, and how unfortunate. |
14: chai! (can't stop laughing)I do not understand economics, its not my field, and that is why i have all those many question marks(?) in my post cos i want to know. But come o bros no vex, are you from down there (SA), becos the stone you throw at me heh, its like you used all your might and strength. : ![]() Thanks for pointing out the bolded i appreciate. Learning continues. |
Mcy56:You are welcome. |
Mcy56:I did miss his playfulness but certainly not his unsympathetic grave robber price quotes. |
tritritri: ![]() True. |
I tried. |
@Agba, they said you are on a few days ban, no wonder you've been unusually quite since. Eyàa sorry. |
aremso:Sorry Sir, its because the political info was posted on this thread up there on this page, and am sure he posted it here cos its an important info that could affect the country's perception and in extension, the economy. In my post i actually did apologized for the slight deviation becos i got carried away by it. |
dipoolowoo:It is well oo. In a sane society, whether all the allegations on him are all false, or some of these allegations were squashed by the law court (no smoke without fire), this oga is suppose to even resign as senate president, but here he is wanting to preside over the affairs of the entire country! Meanwhile take a trip to Kwara state, his own state that he governed for 8yrs (which his family still hold bound), nothing, i mean nothing to show! How can we move forward as a country like this, because these political parties are the ones that choose candidates for us, whether we like or not, we are forced to vote for whoever they present (maybe till whenr they give us law that allows a candidate to contest without party affiliation). Sorry i deviated to politics, my mood is not just ok today thinking about how i so wish for things to be normal in this country because we have so much potentials. |
dipoolowoo:OK. so its the tax they are running away from. You can imagine how our own country men will connive with foreigners to surcharge their own country! becos if that money was truly taken out illegally, there was collusion somewhere with my people. Anyway, all we want is for those in authority to always do the right thing so that this country can develop and move forward like other countries we all admire. Meanwhile oando forensic auditing is still pending till now#SEC, it may not see the light of day, and shell-holdings continue after them eat clean mouth. just soliloquizing jare, i just want us all to succeed because we are really trying hard to make our lives better genuinely! |
Mpeace:And @rebekah2011 Thank you for the correction, i meant to say they may not want to return the money. |
swilo:Why wait till December, why not start watching for from now, when it starts trading below N1 (sorry those that have it in portfolio) you begin to buy, cos i have a hunch you may even get it cheaper before that December if they do not have any positive news to cushion all these negativity trailing them now. |
^^^ @Mpeace. (modified) - I know the money belongs to them. But are they not as foreigners investing in this country suppose to re-invest the profit back into their host economy? Is that not suppose to be a condition to grant them license to invest here in this country? Because its wrong to allow them make the money here and then take the gain/profit away to develop their own country's economy. Or is the money not part of the profits they have been making from their business here? But then what am hoping should not happen as they are contesting the claim is if CBN or any other regulations can still fine the banks involved in the repatriation? |
dipoolowoo:Yes i agree with you! This is a ploy to not pay! |
stcool:This one that Mtn is contesting CBN fine, its like everyone involved in the deal is gearing up for more kickback to pass under the table as always, they may never pay the fine, or it will be reduced drastically. I do not believe CBN will just come out to announce this allegations without doing their own internal investigations. |
Yayira:Its like Mtn is contesting the claim by CBN that they did not illegally repatriate the said sum, $8.1b back then. https://punchng.com/mtn-refutes-claims-of-illegal-repatriation-of-8-1bn/ |
Mpeace:Our regulatory institutions (eg SEC) are sleeping at there jobs while Minority shareholders of Nigerian businesses continue to suffer for the selfish and fraudulent decisions/activities of the people in charge of these businesses. Why are these people individually not being sanctioned for their actions one may ask? instead it is always the business itself that gets punished with heavy fines and all what not, imagine! abi na so we go dey dey? |
tritritri:I sensed it. Don't worry too much, it will be fine, it is not death. Try not to think about it, Stop checking your accounts, Stop coming to the Forum frequently, do other things to occupy your mind, engage in activities that will uplift your spirit, be positive and build your faith in God, you will be fine, be Patience for just a little while, it is the key! |
^^ Thank you! You are so sweet! The truth actually is that to be in this type of market as a woman, one needs to be rugged, we will unknowingly slip from ruggedness every now and then as female. Other women in this Forum are equally amazing too, i don't think they are veiled (you can tell how easily we may all get provoked or become petty). |
swilo:@swilo, am worried for him because from his more recent posts its like he is stressed, (i may be wrong). |
tritritri:See, you need to try and calm yourself down, stop looking at your portfolio/account at all at the moment. Any of your purchases that doesn't have too much loss as per percentage, sell now, leave the rest, and be on stand by for the right time to buy cheaper. The market will surely bounce back just a matter of time #patience is it. You are not the only one. Find something to occupy your mind, anything, stay away from this Forum if you can for now, check in once in a while to refresh or get updates on happenings in the market. My candid advice sha! |
. |
Agbalowomeri:Hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!! chai! (can't use my laughing emoji, phone is new). |
gamaliel9:Losing streaks. Hair cuts (metaphorically). Or, when you are hooked, can't get out and your portfolio start bleeding. Something like that sha. |
Agbalowomeri:You na Casanova, Mr lover lover. |
Agbalowomeri:You no go stay for one place! "Lover boy". |
Sighting @parisfran, hi, how are you doing today. You asked me a question sometime ago, sorry i didn't ignore you, just didn't want to dwell on that issue by then. #withlove. |
mendes911:I had to do a double take to be sure this post is from @mendes. Kudos to you, #ilike, first time am seeing your post portrays "your brother's keeper" which is the essence of this Forum. Like @Agba said, we must accept mistakes, whether on time or late, and move on, learning continues. We should not continue to hammer on " I told you so". When you allow yourself to get hooked and your portfolio starts bleeding after you've been warned to jaaa, you won't wait to be told twice next time before you run when you are told to do so. We know this already! |
