LAGOS—THE Alliance for Democracy, AD, has adopted President Goodluck Jonathan as its flag bearer for the March 28 election.

The party also said its National Executive Council, NEC, has suspended its former National Secretary, Rafiu Salau, stating that the NEC ratified the report of disciplinary committee that found Salau culpable of anti-party activities.

Addressing newsmen after its NEC meeting held in Lagos, the party’s national chairman, Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa, said with the adoption of President Jonathan, the AD machinery and structures across the country, are available for the president.

Akinfenwa said: “Our decision to endorse Dr. Goodluck Jonathan did not come easy. We had to critically compare his record with that of General Buhari and we can affirm that Jonathan has demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that he is a true democrat.”

While stressing that it did not see the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) as a true representative of patriotic, detribalized northerners, the party said the opposition APC cannot change the tide of the country because its leaders have no moral conscience.

The party said Salau who emerged as the factional presidential candidate of the party was expelled after NEC decision of 41 for and 2 against votes found him culpable of gross misconduct, anti-party activities, unruly behaviour to the chairman of the party, among others

Den never see anything. Yeye set of people. They have been rendered so useless that they see nothing in a Governor owing them backlog of salaries. To make the matter worse, they have a set of NLC that are so clueless to the extent of forgetting they are suppose to be the lifeblood of any government.

I have never seen such a toothless bulldog of NLC people that are so cold in my life. At times, I wonder if Yoruba people never had to opportunity to be educated as they were, they would have been the worst tribe in this country.

The feds has been shortchanging allocations to APC states, and also stopped them from accessing loans. Only recently, the daft one okays them for loans so as to look good, but the real truth was, it was just a news; they were still unable to get any loans or full allocations. And most of these states have engaged in many projects that couldn't be continued.

Now, over the deductions; the deductions were not meant for states, it was meant for teachers' cooperative societies where teachers can access loans. For example, onward I Abeokuta, Ogun state clearly said he can t give loans to teachers because no cash has entered since December.

They can all reach a consensus if they want, or go on strike if they wish...

In a meeting g in Abeokuta, u have a die hard PDP friend who spilled the beans; he was asked to contest because he wld enjoy 8 good yes of immunity from his drug related crimes. The US are asking Jonathan to release the guy for justice, he has refused. Now, he can have immunity in Nigeria for 8 good yes.
