Gov Ayo Fayose today announced on @ekitistategov state owned EKTV that certificates from Northern Institutions will no longer be recognized in his state.
Even if you’re born and bred in Ekiti but schooled in the North…your Certificate will not be recognized as long as he remain the Control-General of the Land of Honour (once Fountain of Knowledge).

agabusta: This is quite laughable! And at the same time calls for sombre reflection. Why are we so desperate as a people to the extent that some will not will not mind playing the hatchet role of scuttling the general elections. Why is Africa so saddled with many shallow, myopic and desperate looters?
We as a people need to dedicate time to doing a research on this. It is now that elections are about to start after an initial postponement that a faceless group thought it worthwhile to use a legal loophole INEC overlooked to push for a postponement of the elections.
People kindly note that these guys did not challenge the reasons INEC gave for not registering them, they cunningly challenged the non-communication of non-registration after the stipulated 30 days. Govt agencies are ridiculously slow in correspondence due to different bureaucratic bottlenecks. It is this loophole that this irrelevant party wants to now use to destabilise INEC.
Funny enough, there is another angle to this. INEC as everybody expects is supposed to have appealed the judgement immediately and file for a maintenance of status quo until the determination of the appeal. But guess what, INEC claims it is yet to even officially receive the judgement let alone file it's appeal. Does that mean some people are deliberately slowing down the process of communicating the judgement to INEC so as to delay INEC from filing an appeal as quickly as possible?
INEC is yet to get the earlier judgement and the party is already getting ready to go to the courts again to get another order mandating INEC to comply with the earlier judgement.
All these are games actively supported by the PDP underneath to scuttle the elections. But they will all amount to fruitless efforts as the elections will hold as rescheduled. There is nothing the desperate PDP can do about it!
The INEC chairman has already stated it that the constitution is supreme! Though i'm not a lawyer but I think there is a legal provision in respect of a conflict between the constitution and other statutes/judgement that makes the constitution to have priority.
What this imply is that INEC can conveniently ignore this judgement and later claim in court that obeying the judgement will contravene the constitutional requirements for general elections and the May 29th hand over date.

Gbawe: They are indeed 'punking' GEJ . It is the overwhelming loss in the SW the PDP foresaw that made them to postpone the election. This is the one region they think can save GEJ and this is why Jonathan, after the election postponement, has virtually relocated to Lagos to begin a 'dollar rain' on everyone in the SW he thinks can help him buy votes.
Only fools will take these insincere endorsement seriously. SW folks, in the majority, want change from the GEJ-led status quo. It is as simple as that and anyone deceiving GEJ about 'endorsement' is just 'chopping' his own share of the dollars our desperate President is sharing freely. OK Since u think we SW vote is lock down for u Hope u won't come here to lament DAT u are rigged out |

Politics › Ekiti To Dredge 32.4m Water Way by HzRF(op): 9:23am On Mar 06, 2015 |
Ekiti State Government has commenced work on the dredging of 32,350 metres of waterways in Ado Ekiti metropolis. Speaking with newsmen during a visit to some of the sites, the state Commissioner for Environment, Mr Bisi Kolawole, said the Governor Ayodele Fayose administration is determined to address the various ecological problems confronting the state. Kolawole added that about eight out of the 22 waterways and their tributaries identified as the sources of flooding in the state have been awarded to Mega Aggregate and Samchase Construction companies, assuring that the projects will be completed soon. Some of the waterways to be dredged, according to him, include: Adere, Ureje, Esinla, Elemi and Omi Olori among others. He said that the silting of the waterways had caused colossal damage to the lives and property of residents through annual flooding. The commissioner, however, said those that erected fish ponds or planted crops on the waterways won’t be compensated, saying the projects were being undertaken under the doctrine of overriding public interest. “As much as Ayodele Fayose’s government is desirous of making Ekiti a disaster -free zone, we are warning those who are throwing wastes into these canals to desist or face the consequences. The effort to curb flooding in Ekiti is a two-way thing. The Government would have to discharge its responsibility by ensuring that the projects are awarded and done properly, while the maintenance would be the responsibility of the government and the public. “But when citizens are throwing waste into these canals and get them blocked, they will also be the victims when flooding occur. So, we need to appeal to our people to always drop their wastes in the trash bins provided by the state government”, he said. Kolawole , who described the allegation that the Ecological Fund had been diverted by Fayose’s government, said: “This is not a government that will divert funds meant for a particular purpose. We are not limiting our scope to Ado Ekiti alone, towns like Efon, Ifaki and many other towns will be attended to in the second phase of the programme.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/ekiti-to-dredge-32-4m-water-way/ |
