Foreign Affairs › Trump Cannot Become President – Clinton by HzRF(op): 9:49pm On Jul 18, 2016
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton called on venerable civil-rights group the NAACP on Monday to defeat Republican rival Donald Trump in his bid for the White House.

Speaking at the annual NAACP conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, as the Republican National Convention opened several hundred miles away, Clinton insisted that Trump was unfit to be president and announced a nationwide drive to register millions of new voters.

Clinton painted her tycoon opponent as a threat to democracy, lacking a policy platform and whose company refused to rent to African American tenants in the 1970s.

“Donald Trump plays coy with white supremacists. Donald Trump insults Mexican immigrants… Donald Trump demeans women. Donald Trump wants to ban an entire religion from entering our country and Donald Trump loves to talk to the press,” she said.

Trump is to be anointed as Republican presidential nominee at the four-day convention in Cleveland by the party once led by Abraham Lincoln, the celebrated US president who abolished slavery in the 19th century.

Clinton told the NAACP crowd that the Republicans were becoming the party of Trump.

“It is a threat to our democracy and it all adds up to an undeniable conclusion… Donald Trump cannot become president,” she said to huge applause and delegates leaping to their feet.

“That’s why we’ve got to work together to get the vote out this fall,” she said, announcing a nationwide drive to get three million people registered to vote in the November 8 general election.

It is customary for presidential candidates to address the annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Trump was invited to speak at the Cincinnati event, but he declined to do so.

The Trump campaign gave no reason for snubbing the event, just 250 miles (400 kilometers) away in the same state.

Ohio is a key battleground state and Trump lost the Republican state primary to Governor John Kasich, but a recent NBC News poll put Clinton and Trump tied at 39 percent with 21 percent of voters undecided.

The former US secretary of state used much of her speech to call for criminal justice reform, an end to systemic racism and to denounce the killing of police officers as totally unjustified.

“This madness has to stop,” she said in reference to the attack Sunday that killed three police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“The next president should make the commitment to fight for the reforms we so desperately need, holding police departments like Ferguson accountable,” she said to deafening applause.

The 2014 shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, unleashed widespread protests, some violent, and was among a spate of controversial police shootings of African Americans. The decision not to indict the police officer prompted more protests across the country.

Founded in 1909, the NAACP is America’s oldest and largest civil rights organization, campaigning to end racial discrimination.

For those in doubt about the identity of the militants; excerpts of the Ogun invasion:

Another resident, Umoru, who was said to be eating noodles, was chased, hacked and shot to death, along with a friend, Danladi.
A mosque in the community, was reportedly attacked and a Muslim cleric killed.

A disc jockey at the hotel said one of the militants wanted to shoot him dead, but one of them persuaded him against it.
“They were arguing among themselves whether or not to kill me. One said, ‘If you don’t want me to kill him, then let me cut off his leg.’ But his colleague asked him not to. Before I knew it, he had smashed three bottles on my head.
“They went away with my laptop, phones, money and everything I had. They refused to carry away the beers in the hotel. They took only the hard drinks,” he said.

A source said, “The man was in the creek for 40 days. The militants collected N10m from the community before he was released. That is why everybody is afraid to talk. People have started fleeing the community. Two Hausas were killed during this attack and the Hausa community has vowed to fight back.”

A man, who spoke for the Imushin community, pleaded with the government to intervene before the community was completely deserted.
He said, “These people are militants and even the police cannot withstand their firepower. We need help from the government. We will appreciate anything they can do for us.”

“Information from eyewitnesses showed that the hoodlums were militants and they came from the riverine area.
We are particularly interested in why they came in such a large number.”

Foreign Affairs › Putin: We'll Work With Any Candidate U.S. Voters Choose by HzRF(op): 6:19pm On Jun 17, 2016
Story highlights
Russian President Vladimir Putin calls Donald Trump "bright"
Putin says Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is more familiar with Hillary Clinton
(CNN)Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday called presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump "bright" and said his country is prepared to work with any candidate American voters elect.

"Mr. Trump says he's ready to restore full-fledged Russian-American relations. What can be bad about it?"
CNN's Fareed Zakaria interviewed Putin at the 20th International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Russian leader was part of a panel that included Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Zakaria read from a report that had Putin calling Trump "brilliant," "outstanding" and "talented." He asked Putin what led him to that judgment and whether he still holds that opinion.

'CNN Fareed Zakaria': Interview with Putin 00:30
But Putin told Zakaria he had changed the meaning of his comments. Zakaria said later he was reading from a translation of an Interfax news report
"I only said he was a bright person. Isn't he bright?" Putin asked. "I did not say anything else about him."
He stressed that Russia doesn't meddle in the internal political affairs of other nations and will work with anyone who is elected.
As for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Putin said he didn't work with her that much but that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov did.
"She probably has her own view of U.S.-Russian relations."
He said he's seen many people change after they are appointed to some office and that when they have different responsibilities, they start thinking differently.
Russia hopes that a sense of responsibility will serve to bring about a more secure world and greater cooperation between the United States and Russia, Putin said.
Hopes for improved ties with Europe
Putin also dealt with other issues in his remarks. As for Europe, he called for improved relations with leaders there.

Russia issues stern warning 01:46
At present, sanctions have been used against Russia over its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine and its activities in Ukraine.
As for Syria, he said the United States should persuade opposition leaders to have a dialogue with the regime in Damascus. He said he agrees with an American proposal to include opposition representatives in the government.

Politics › Boko Haram Kills 24 In Adamawa Wake Attack by HzRF(op): 4:55pm On Jun 17, 2016
Boko Haram insurgents on Thursday night attacked Kuda-Kaya village in Madagali local Government Area of Adamawa state, killing 24 persons during a wake.

One of the residents, Abdul Ibrahim, who spoke on Friday morning, said the insurgents, numbering over 100, came at about 10 pm on Thursday shooting indiscriminately and in the propose killed 24 persons.

He said during the attack, 10 persons also sustained various degrees of injuries.

He said 18 corpses were discovered on Thursday night after the insurgents had left the village, while the remaining six corpses were removed from the surrounding buses after the break of dawn.

He lamented that the majority of persons killed were women and children. He added that those injured in the attack were rushed to Gulak Cottage Hospital, three kilometres from the village, for treatment.

Another resident of the village, Jacob Gulak, who also spoke to our correspondent via the phone, said he counted 18 corpses, adding that 10 other persons were injured.

He, however, said that more corpses might be retrieved from the bushes as the search was still on and many persons were still missing.

Shock attack

He revealed that the insurgents stormed the village located on the fringes of the notorious Sambisa forest around 10pm while the villagers were at the wake of a dead member of the community.

The attack, he said took the villagers by surprise as it had been long since they witnessed last.

“They stormed our village on motorbikes and immediately opened fire on the people at the wake,”

“As at the last count, 18 people were killed while about 10 others were injured and were rushed to a health facility in Gulak.”

The Public Relations Officer of the Adamawa State Police Command, Othman Abubakar, confirmed the attack.

“So far 18 people have been killed in the attack but the number of the casualties could not be ascertained,” he told our correspondent.

The member representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency, Adamu Kamale, also said the number of people affected as of the time of filing this report could not be ascertained but noted that many members of the community are feared killed.

Enough of all these emotional lamentations... buhari has a waec certificate which he obtained over 50 years ago but unfortunately it cant be found today. After attending several military higher colleges and courses both at home and internationally, and also rising from being a recruit to a general in the army, I'm sorry to say, but assuming he never had a certificate (even though he achieved all that) and hoping to use this as a criteria to unseat him as president over 50 years later is a laughable attempt at distracting the government.

By the way when the opposition was busy chasing certificate before the election, the principal of his alma matter dug up a result which till today the losers claim is fake. Why dont you take your investigations to the principal or to waec to confirm its authenticity?... government is serious business and shouldnt be distracted by jokers please.
