Eveezy: Nah, Caucasians are not as lazy as their size would make you think.
Are lions or Tigers big? But are they lazy to hunt? I find it funny sometimes lol, most people automatically assume a dog is lazy because they are big forgetting that much larger predators exist and move around freely. they act like they are so slow and feeble when in fact they're quite agile for their size when I walk my dog I hear people say 'this one big ooh, e no fit even waka again" even as my dog has been walking with me for almost an hour. but if it's a gsd that you walk for 10mins they'll say the dog is smart and sharp I agree Caucasians aren't the most athletic dogs but I wouldn't describe them as lazy, besides, their main purpose is to repel intruders not to do long exercises and that is how they should be trained. I've never seen my dog lay on the floor when their is a stranger around or stop to rest when he wants to chase and attack somebody p.s how's Ariel doing? |

SawftO42: The lions and Tigers are wild animals and there have no option? But the Caucasians know say after every thing na the owner go bring food give am. Forget matter o, If you carry Caucasians for an early morning walk small time it will want to rest I walk my dog non stop for at least an hour per walk and he doesn't stop till we get back home, if you let your dog become lazy then it's your fault. Caucasians aren't athletes yes but that doesn't mean they are useless and get tired after a few minutes, it's usually people that don't own one that say so because they judge and make assumptions from pictures. this evening, I walked 3 Caucasians along with some other people and none of them stopped to lay down once and we went long distance too from 7 to past 8pm and they were pulling the leashes and dragging us let a Caucasian attack you let's see if it'll walk or run small and want to rest |

babamiMato: @IamAnderson i have always wondered why Roscoe has this orange tinge/hue to his fur .
lovely thread on roscoe btw lol it's hereditary, it's an actual coat pattern in Caucasians, it's not as popular as the usual black or grey but it's there |

Dreazy23: They both refused to stand still so i took it like this they're looking so good if you want them to stand for you to snap it's better you give them something that'll get their attention. I use a ball, treats or someone knocking at the gate to get Roscoe's attention or any other thing when I need pics or videos they really aren't people pleasers |

Dreazy23: That nice, so I noticed that Bailey who has a shorter cost compared to Rex is beginning to become longer, is it possible for fur length to increase during growth? yeah of course, didn't you see how Roscoe's fur grew out as he became older? I even thought he was short coat when he was a pup until he surprised me |

vincentjk: Really? I thought the presence of white made south Africa good in dog breeding generally not just boerboels this dog from petlove kennels is on websites and google when you Google Caucasian Shepherd I've also seen plenty more Caucasians from Nigeria on google images as examples of the breed. do you know that Nigeria is ahead of the US in Caucasian Shepherd breeding?
|
Pets › Re: Mugabe The Biggest Caucasian In Africa by IamAnderson(m): 10:48am On Apr 11, 2020 |
vincentjk: Really? I thought the presence of white made south Africa good in dog breeding generally not just boerboels lol no Nigeria is miles ahead SA in Caucasian dog breeding. Nigeria gets popular bloodlines to come and stay and even reproduce Nigerian Caucasians are also used in international dog websites and Nigeria exports Caucasians now SA deals with BB more, they're not close to Nigeria at all in Caucasians |

vincentjk: How will you say he's the biggest Cauc in Africa? Have you gone to south africa to see what they've there?? Nawa o I doubt they'll have better stock there SA is known for boerbels, Nigeria is the biggest Caucasian dog country in Africa second to Ghana |

cool318: Thanks for the exposition, I was looking at the size, if it can perform manoeuvering like some Security dogs because of their Agility. lol don't be deceived by the size, that big body you're seeing, they can carry it well. they are agile for their size and very strong and aggressive to intruders |
Pets › Re: Chronicle Of Rex And Roxy by IamAnderson(m): 5:01am On Apr 10, 2020 |
Dreazy23: Good evening everyone, hope everyone is safe!! A little update on the duo: I had grooming issues with Rex and Bailey because the comb I was using apparently couldn’t throughly brush their furs, it later spoilt and I had to comb with an Afro comb which wasn’t easy at all and due to the lock down over here no pet shop was open. So after a week of Fur neglect I noticed Bailey’s fur started to Matt.
Since the Afro comb wasn’t easily at all, I decided to get a similar comb to the one that spoilt which I did from a nearby mallam. Surprisingly it worked perfectly well and more comfortable to use than all previous combs
Pics 1: picture of the spoilt comb(Bailey has done justice to it) Pic2: the new comb I got
I also started “enhancing” Bailey’s guard instinct by coming through her back to scare her, at first she started running but now she would turn to attack. I took her out in the night for a stroll and she was so cautious of very movement which I would say is good.
Rex on the other hand is a territorial beast but once outside he’s calm and reserved even when we stroll at night. He only observes if he sees a weird shape approaching lol no wonder you were having issues with the grooming. the first comb isn't for Caucasians, the brush is for shorter coat dogs. the second one is the right one to use |

cool318: I love Dogs but am really very confused about this particular breed call Caucasian because of its Massive body size. Is it a security dog or a herder or just a Pet. Really need to classify it based on it's traits. Thanks for explaining it's a security dog and also a pet dog they are very good security dogs and they are good at attacking intruders but they are also affectionate with family members so they can serve as pets too |

DemiVonKrone: IamAnderson What bones do you recommend? Thought chicken bones wouldn't splinter. Or is there a part of the chicken that's softer? take out chicken bones as a whole except it's a very soft part. the best bones to feed dogs for me should be goat spine. it's soft enough to be eaten completely by both humans and dogs and it's mostly marrow and cartilage. you can even pound it for pups to eat and it's very cheap to get if you scroll back, there was a time I posted a picture of it |

vincentjk: About the pictures your dog looks good for 7month old, he's same age with mine but has a bigger head than him I think(thou all dogs grow differently on their own) you're doing a nice job keep it up
Below are pictures of mine at 6month old, I work him steady so his muscles is quite alarming. Iamanderson what do you think? Augusto looks good for his age too, he has a nice frame which means he's growing well |

What's your assessment of the picture attached? I think he's a very good pup for his age
