Getting new notes as a swap? That is not the essence of this exercise. The notes in circulation, though very minimal as a result of sabotage from top bankers/same screaming politicians, are not supposed to be the same quantity as the ones before. This is what we are all supposed to get used to.

Those that don't know what a portal is will definitely lose their money, and I doubt that even illiterates have not heard about it, or seen a literate acquaintance to put them through or help them, with the rate at which information is flying. Even people in so called Kano, Kaduna and Lagos ran to CBN to attempt to deposit their old notes (especially those that value their hard-earned cash).

Yes, they have -- at CBN's request. It doesn't mean that the old notes will keep circulating; it only means that they delegated part of their work to commercial banks, that's all. The commercial banks will keep mopping up the cash received back to CBN and this exercise should not take more than 3 days at the maximum.

CBN is simply trying to be clever by half since they know the governors are already ahead of them. If Banks are still collecting the old notes, then business can still collect them as legitimate means of exchange and then proceed to deposit same in banks.

This kind of policy summersault is what happens when you try to implement an illegal decision despite the order of the Supreme Court and the very obvious hardship that citizens are facing. Kudos to the courageous governors who have ordered their residents to continue to accept the old notes as means of exchange. They are the heroes this period. Big shame on all those who are supporting the suffering that Buhari and Emefiele are inflicting on Nigerians simply because of politics. After the election, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will reverse the inhuman policy.

If he is able to pay at the end of February, he would probably pay the sum of 233000*(10/100)*(14/365)= €893.70. Any more hesitation will see him paying more .
