Bimmey: At the embassy now, still outside waiting with confidence.God is goodSuccess my dear brother! |
zynnnie: Hi,Troy University, AL I must confess, its a cool school. Its a public university located in a city called Troy in the state of AL. Its ranked among the top 5 universities in AL, close-ranking with the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Just like an average public institution in the US, I once applied there though, but didn't get what I wanted. So don't be scared about it being a red flag. Best of luck! |
goryorhal: thanks bro..but how can i do that(transfer of credit)and what are the requirements ...tell me more pls..Well, I would just advice you to go search for schools on google in the locations you wish to apply to. Head straight to their undergraduate section (Transfer Credits), take note of their minimum GPA requirement for transferring students and required tests like TOEFL (if any) Best of luck! |
Ok now I just wanna know how long it takes to study mediine in the US. I read premed takes 4-5years and medical school takes 4-6years. They weren't specific but i just wanna know if it can be studied at most within 8years ?
Did you just say Medicine? To be very frank with you, your chances are very slim (infact, almost impossble) as an International applicant. Programs like that are highly competitive strictly within Green-card holders and Citizens of United State. But then, if you really wanna study Medicine, I would advice you apply to a pure health-related program (eg Cell biology, Health science, etc) and later transfer based on pre-requisites, but it has to be strictly on merit like I said, its competitive OR Alternatively, after your BSc in the health-related program, you can then apply to the medical school, but this takes longer in terms of duration. Best of luck! |

goryorhal: Gm guys...i'm interested in going over to Us to futher my education.i just finished my OND programme and i felt this is the right place to ask some questions. How can i continue my education over there and what documents will i need to start the processing. Its a two way thing. Its either you do Transfer of credits to a university (Almost like what we all know as Direct Entry) OR You apply from the scratch, I mean the Freshman thing (100 level). Depending on information specified on schools' website:undergraduate grade, SAT/ACT and/or TOEFL may be required. Best of luck man! |
karlxavier: Goodday all, I'm new to this thread. I must say I congratulate every one that has contributed positively on the thread. Please can I ask sometin? What if after calculating the cgpa and the person's GP was below 2.7, what would the person doWell, in that case you may limit your search for schools wit 2.50 on a scale of 4 as their GPA cut-off and/or target an ace score in your GRE/GMAT with well cooked and constructive Statement of Purpose (SOP)/ Essay and a Wow Resume! There are quite a number of cool schools in the US wit cut-off of 2.50 on a scale of 4 eg Alabama A&M uni, Texas A&M uni (depending on dept) etc I hope this helps, meet you at the top mate! Cheers... |

http404error: I'm sorry if I've just offended you - no offense whatsoever was intended. I only said that for the benefit of followers who are thinking of writing the GRE. I would suggest 2 months at least for preparation. Some folks could need one year, some one month. People like you might need just one hour for preparationNairalanders sha ![]() |

effulgence: Good day everyone.I applied to study history(masters) at East tennessee state university and just yesterday I received an email that I have been considered for admission by fall. Please is etsu a good school and is it recognised by the US embassy?Although I haven't done GRE because it isn't needed by the school,do you think I should do it,having acquired a diploma in history before my degree programe?does anyone school or reside in tennessee to inform me the economic and social condition of that place?Lastly, any other information considered important to my visa application is also welcomed. Thanks and God blessbb aroy1: GRE or other similar exam is probably one of the ways that a wary VO can use to determine potential students from those that are not (potential immigrants).Aroy1 has answered some part of yur questions...it wld be advisable to sit for gre nd toefl, so yu wld stand a greater chance of knockin' the VO's of dem feet...! |
fittty: And the embassy's decision supersedes the schools decision...Admission letter without a Visa is useless, so take the exams.Well said!!! |

Hello house, juz joined nairaland, so happy to have a forum that can solve issues partaining F-1 visa..I actually have an issue I will pls want the house to help me address. I wrote gre in feb nd got 285 nd have a GPA 2.90(scale of 5) nd I intend apply for my masters in agricultural related courses or biological science...pls I wld like to knw my tendency of been accepted in any college or university in the US...Shld I still try nd apply based on my low GPA nd gre score...Toefl is intact...thanks in anticipation house |
GboyegaD: There are quite a number of them. You can apply to University of Massachusetts, Amherst but the cost of living there is on the high side; West Michigan University, Kalamazoo with a regular cost of living like many US cities; and Utah State University, Logan with a fairly low cost of living compared to most towns. You can check many more schools like Florida International University, University of North Texas will waive it for you if you have at least a B3 in English in WAEC/NECO. I would suggest you rewrite the TOEFL though. |
