Just like one of us mentioned, the Nigerian job market is not saturated at all. You have majority of the jobs concentrated in just a part of the country. HRs become choosy even when you possess the needed skills and/or experience...

There goes your dream. Just admit it: You know the value of iPhone but you can't afford it, so instead of blaming the poor economy of Nigeria, you stylishly blame it on the manufacturers. They don't care if you can't buy it. It's simply not for everybody.

So my task to you is: stop dreaming, make enough money, and buy what you desire. Just as MI said " if we don't win cars we buy them"

#Chikena

you know what?? you are just someone who is too lazy to read. I gave yhu a simple task and you couldn't carry it out. I will help you.
make sure you read carefully to see what I meant.

I'm not a fan of IPhone and I'm not even interested if the price is reduced for "the poor" or not
I'm only talking about the sustainability of the iPhone empire. nothing more nothing less

Keep dreaming... and mind u, when it gets to that dream price of yours, you that I know won't buy it, u know why?! Cos u will be the first to lash out at the drop in its qualities viz: processors, camera, alloy body strength, pixel resolution, security I could go on... but damn it, u know what I'm saying! so why not direct your wailings to the poor situation of the country and demand that the average nigerains should live to that point were they could be able to buy that iPhone of their desire.

hello!
What is this one saying? Sometimes it is not good to quote a person quoting another person because you didnt follow our conversation right from the beginning.
So i will give you a little task right now, follow my conversation with greenhulk from the begining and tell me what you understood.
Trust me, you have not made any meaningful contribution. Even those that have followed every point i made here would be laffing at how naive you are

I get ur point, what I'm against was ur initial post where u said iPhone value will drop if they reduce the price. If apple can sell 13 million iphones in 3 days selling for between $700-900, now how many units do u think they would sell of they decide to reduce the price to $400 for just 5 days. Trust me within that 5 days they will sell 50 million units.

I admire the way you reason. you are absolutely right about the point you stated. but that's "if it's reduced for only 5days" meaning it will still return to its normal price and the people that got it for that price will only feel lucky they did. moreover, you just gave statistics about the global figure which I blv Nigeria which is the case study here didn't contribute massively to that feat.

I was referring to a situation where the price will completely drop to the extent that an average Nigerian can buy the iPhone and remain that way as it's normal price and not a bonanza.

If u think iphones are surviving because its OS is exclusive to one device, then can u explain to us what happened to BlackBerry? Last time I checked blackberry OS can only be found on blackberry phones. And symbian OS was only found on Nokia phones.

I mentioned three things being;
1) one model production over a relatively long period
2) exclusive os
3) tailored pricing

now look at these three points carefully. BlackBerry isn't doing too well because it sold out one of its exclusive feature "BBM" which we all know was its selling point. now, BlackBerry is slowly going andriod which I don't see recording great sales in Nigeria(Remember the Nigeria Market is our case study).

in the case of the Symbian OS, it lacked consistency. Nokia was running both the java OS and the Symbian simultaneously and oh I almost forgot the "torchlight Os" as well lol. trying to satisfy three different set of users. while they recorded sales on the java OS as well as the "torchlight OS" which they are still recording sales, they paid less attention to the development of their exclusive OS.

IPhone is focusing onjust one OS and and combining those three things i mentioned earlier very well.

if the price of the Iphone drops to the extent that anyone can afford it then the phone would lose its value and blv it or not, the population of those that would use it in Nigeria won't Increase rather it would reduce.

so the major reasons IPhone is surviving in the market is because only one model is produced over a given period of time, Its OS is exclusive to the brand alone and its pricing is well tailored.

now reverse these things to be different models at a given time, OS availability isn't exclusive, prices vary.. then no prestige attached and the brand loses its value.

This completely explains the "Whatsapp over BBM" theory as well. Although, people rushed to check out the app when it was finally released on andriod and ios, the comments that followed weren't so cool. most people were like "so is this the bbm we were always always hearing of? " "nothing special". n now 1 out of 7 people use whatsapp. why not bbm that opened it to other users?.

Congratulations on your new job.

Although I wonder which company is that? Could it be Champion breweries? Or Le Meridien? Julius Berger? (Uyo has less prestigious firms, abi is there any new MNC that I don't know?)

Nigerians should stop being religious about jobs. Are you implying that God "favoured" you over possible thousands who also applied? Which is quite unfair if you ask me.
Had it been the economy was good and jobs were readily available, all these giving of tithe to a random pastor instead of your parents wouldn't be happening.

Work hard/smart and be diligent and success would be yours. Congratulations once again.

I'm seriously wondering which "Prestigious "firm it is. because in Uyo, if you are not a civil servant or politician, then you are either a banker or a teacher in a private school. I stand to be corrected tho.

btw, God bless the OP
