cool why do I have a feeling APC and Buhari are keeping many projects hush hush, and when they start commissioning the projects they would knock PDP out by surprise. Now power supply has drastically improved, they are going Commando on bandits and herdsmen, they are aggressively pumping out money, through market women loan, and unconditional cash transfer. Well the first mistake of the opposition was thinking Buhari who attended Mons cadet college and has a masters degree in strategic studies from US war college is an uneducated dullard. Underestimate your opponent and end up failing.

Inna restructure whereby each state with carte for itself, Funds shared by FG won't be stopped immediately. It will be gradually reduced for many years while each state develops new sources of income thorough exploration, mining, agriculture, Etc. It could take 3 - 5 years or more for each region to stand on its own n then stop collecting allocation from FG.
this is my thought, and all offshore oil blocs remains property of the FG, but the exclusive list would be reduced

I agree with you that as it stands today, many wouldn't survive without oil BUT the issue of making Nigeria a successful nation is one where you either fight it head on or go home. If we continue this way, it can not end well now that there's possibility of our oil running dry.

Restructure now!
restructuring is inevitable, just that it wouldn't take the holistic form people are imagining. each components would be discussed. like resource control, state police, regional vs state government, national asset sharing. and more

we survived without oil
We will survive without it
Less than 3 million survive on oil out of 200 million
I beg to disagree with the 3million surviving on oil, because as at today the major Forex earner for Nigeria is Oil, and without Dollar we can't buy, drugs, cars, electronics, machinery, industrial raw materials in fact we can't by buy anything. Again we survived without oil because almost 80% of Nigerians then were producers of something (mostly cash crops) and we have multiple streams of forex. nigerians of today are almost 70% consumers rather than producers hence our total reliance on oil forex to buy everything from China and Europe. Then again if you are to be honest and look around from our electricity generation to our rural roads, its oil money.

stop talking trash. Oil was a later discovery. The British survived on the resources from the North for decades. They simply added the South in 1914 so as to have access to the sea for exportation.

I am a Yoruba man and an omoluabi, and never will I listen to such personality like KANU, whose tactics is mainly spiteful. if you've truly read about Nigeria and its 45 years conquest by British, and subsequent years to pre independence you would know what am talking about. the main export commodity from Nigeria was Coal, other commodity like groundnut, kola and cocoa was by the way. and as a matter of fact the first set of railtracks and other infrastructure was as a result of Coal mining

If restructuring is done it will benefit all region in d long run.

These your excuse are a lazy man's/corrupt politicians own.
am talking of immediate calamity, and feasibility of a project like restructuring, you're talking about solid mineral deposit that its value, quantity and market for it hasn't been established. do you know the British had to give concession for northern Nigeria to royal trading company because it was an unsuccessful colony, even after that they had to merge north with south for its survival. truth be told without sugarcoating it as it stands today, many can't survive without oil

the reasons the elites would not try talk about it, is because of resource control, every other issue like state police is possible. In southwest ; only Lagos and Ogun are economically viable, in south south; only Edo, Delta and Rivers, in North Central Only kwara, Non in North west,North East and South East. according to Economic development Magzine.
this simply means the day you stop giving out federal allocation from crude oil sales to these states, the system automatically collapse, teachers won't get paid and public schools would close down, similarly doctors, judicial staffs, prison workers, and all state and local government staffs. the royal fathers and kings also survive on the share of the local government allocation from abuja. without allocation how will osun and ekiti pay its external debt, not to talk of paying salary or maintaining infrastructure. I wonder were some region would get forex from to take to China, if the major forex earner is oil, Venezuela's case would be better than some region, while some region would instantly become new Dubai of africa.

we are just unfair to these guys sometimes..

Pls, an average cop in the USA can afford a decent life.. but is that the same here?

Cops in the usa are well protected, good protective gears, insurance, well paid, so, as we compare to these guys in developed worlds, we should also protest for their well being..

if they arent well taken care of, they know their job can take their lives anytime, they will not change o. They will always find a way to do bad things just like other nigerians do.

Simple. Those who protested and campaigned for end sars should also be fair enough to campaign for these guys to be well taken care of like their counterparts in the US.
am not even among people who erroneously blame an officer. south Africa budget $3bn for police, NYPD a state police budgets $500m, the whole of Nigerian police budget is less than $50million with perssonel of over 350k officers. we rather budget $2bn on military and forget internal security is more important, this trend of under funding police started after shagari coup, by military, in an attempt to weaking police

when we were growing up in the north, police were known as 'dan sanda', stick carrier. Because then regular police were only carrying baton.
Fast forward to today, I have not seen any policeman carrying baton. All of them AK47. Why?
you're very right
even the Yoruba word for police is "OLOPA" meaning Owner of a Barton. Saudi and Dubai police still carry their Barton around

If it's not about candidates or the personalities of would be aspirants then generally we haven't learn anything from our past failures. So after searching conscenices and making the choice btw the options you itemize above, is it not human they'll vote for? Is it not candidates that'll help votes make such informed decisions and right choices? I know where you're driving at bro but that was the basis for our failure in time past; playing the ostrich game.
Your hatred for one shouldn't make you vote for any devil because that new devil may be worse than we can bear; let's do away with sentiments and propaganda put together by same elites who don't care about us, face the reality and vote wisely.
nicely said.

Please don't compare the zoo with a civilized country abeg.

SWAT saves lives while SARS takes life
major reason for this is, that a regular Cop in US on beat and patrol carries mostly a teaser, a pepper spray, a Barton and at most a semi-auto handgun, in case he encounters a stubborn suspect, he has so many alternative to take him down and sub due him. As for Nigerian police they all carry ak47 with 30 rounds in a magazine, when encountered by a stubborn suspect all they have is an assault riffle.

cool patiently waiting for APC primaries, and what unfolds afterward. Will Oshiomole/APC/Buhari trade automatic tickets to the New PDP senate members defecting, just to get rid of Saraki and get Inec budget passed, and have new set of PDP members in their ranks again(just like they had saraki and dino headache before). No wonder Oshiomole was scared when INEC released APC primary dates. What if Saraki successfuly hold off NASS resumption till after APC primaries
