Is this 10% Chaka mark up for both Nigerian and foreign stocks?

Any idea if Bamboo mark up too?

No bro the 10% is only on Nigerian stock and the mark up is not a fee so it won’t show in the calculator... bamboo doesn’t

In the picture is what I’m talking about, the price below is what you get charged per share

YerYer:

10% markup is just criminal. If you are buying at 10% markup, you are already at such a disadvantage it's not even worth investing your money.

That’s what I thought too...

There’s an explanation on the site tho! But doesn’t make any sense to me whatsoever because other brokerages aren’t doing that.

DexterousOne:

Why dont you want that tho?

You can resend the dividend money back into your trading account by simple e transfer

That's no problem whatsoever

This is what I'll advice

Use ONE ACCOUNT you hardly use, or open a fresh one

JUST FOR DIVIDEND PAYMENT

Then from the account

If you want to reinvest

Then you send it back into your meritrade account

I believe you want to reinvest your dividend proceeds...

Which btw is nice

Yeah lol but you know money has a way of tempting someone.... I’d prefer it’s in a place I can’t access but as it is now I don’t think I have a choice
Investment / Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by Iamsoulomon: 1:53pm On Jun 28, 2020
DexterousOne:

And btw

Over 2% is too high undecided

Yeah I don’t understand chaka though, they increase stock price by 10% like if a stock price is 20 they add 2 to make the stock price 22, I don’t what that’s for
Investment / Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by Iamsoulomon: 1:51pm On Jun 28, 2020
DexterousOne:

You will have to fill for an e dividend mandate....

Other bosses can explain the process to u

I know the process boss, I thought they will be paying the dividends into the meritrade cash account but with e dividend now it will be paid directly to my bank account and I don’t want that

I have used them for years

No problems encountered whatsoever.

How much was the fintech companies charging for Nigerian stocks sef

Trove more than 2% and chaka mark up stock price 10%. Bro using meristem do you usually fill forms to receive your dividends?
Investment / Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by Iamsoulomon: 10:04pm On Jun 27, 2020

Yes

I don't think Morgan has app, try web version.
You can also use any of this app- ARMSTOCKTRADE, AFRIVEST, MERITRADE

I just created an account with meritrade but funny thing is it won't let me login, keeps saying info not correct and I know it's correct... I just tire for all this naija stuff sef

Let me help you, bro. See, don't trade on the NSE with any of the Fintech platforms. Don't get me wrong, they're doing a wonderful job and I have an account with both Trove and Chaka. However, for Nigerian stocks, please go and open an account with Morgan Capital!

Okay bro I tried to download their app but I can’t find it online and are they safe?
Investment / Re: Us Stocks Pick Alert by Iamsoulomon: 8:07am On Jun 27, 2020
Please any one know which platform is better for buying Nigerian stocks between Trove and Chaka? Trove fees is x2 what they say it’ll be and chaka are marking up share price by 10% I don’t know if that’s what I’ll get charged though they said they are doing that to guarantee the order gets filled during the day. So I’m at a crossroad here anyone that has used any of these two or both should please enlighten.

Thanks for your reply. I'm already into NSE and doing comfortably well trading and investing for dividends.
I just prefer entering a new terrain on the manageable risk side hence my look for div stocks.

Cc: oakpearl and all the unmentioned pathfinders on this thread, forgive my oversight. I appreciate you all.

Ford motor company(F) have a high dividend yield base on their price 13%

Exxon mobil corp(XOM) 7.38%

Boeing company(BA) 8.65%

Note this are dividend yields and not the amount they will be paying you’re too calculate the amount yourself, dividend yields changes as stock price change and moreso any of these is not a recommendation I’m just letting you know the companies with high dividend yeilds there are more others too... stay safe

I use Trove predominantly, and Chaka occasionally.
I am not sure what you mean by returns on stocks but there are bar and pie charts showing a brief summary.
It is not very appealing for me and I consider their platform not user friendly enough as I would have wanted.
IMO

This is what I mean bro, Trove doesn’t show it

Hello Ukay,

Trove is a technology platform, not a registered broker-dealer or investment adviser.

Brokerage services are provided by the following:

US-traded securities, including fractional trading, are provided to Trove users by DriveWealth LLC, a regulated member of FINRA/SIPC. Drivewealth is a member of SIPC, which protects securities customers of its members up to $500,000 (including $250,000 for claims for cash). Explanatory brochure available upon request or at www.sipc.org.

Nigerian account traded securities are provided by Sigma Securities LTD and Trove is a technology platform, not a registered broker-dealer or investment adviser. Trove does not offer its own recommendations of any security or provide its own research to any user regarding any security transaction or order. Please note, investing involves risk and investments may lose value. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

To answer the question about what happens if Trove goes under;

Well your assets are held by the clearing house who in this case are DriveWealth LLC. You have an account number written on your Trove statements. This can be accessed by visiting the settings section of your app.

Please Note : The section would be blank until you make a transaction. Even at that your history begins to show a couple of days after your first purchase.

You can use the account number and a proof of identity to claim ownership of your assets with DriveWealth and then figure whether to liquidate or transfer to some other brokerage. That decision in this case would be between you and DriveWealth.

We intend on being around for a long time though so i don't see that scenario happening in the foreseeable future.

For Nigerian assets, your assets are held with either of our partner brokers. They have both been around for north of 10 years so i'm sure you should be good there.

Here are some links to give you more insight into Trove ;

There are other resources and links on the internet you can search for too. A Google search should also get some extra links.

Also let me if i can help answer some of your questions. Happy to address any fears that you have.

@tommieen we’ll appreciate it if Trove can show us our returns on stocks owned to make it easy for one to keep track of one’s profit and loss. Like today’s return and total returns I’m sure you know what I mean not just on portfolio but individual stocks as well. Sorry I quote a post from way back looking forward to your response

the 08 09 has the tendency to be equipped with it. The European spec with DVD also are equipped with TV module and can also have the video box. All that is needed is to use the navigation system as reverse camera.
So is it possible to upgrade the 09 dash to ‘10 dash and it will work just exactly as the 2010 version?

They rectified the errors in the 010 versions but we can make calls use the phone book and perform voice dialing. On some particular models, the navigation system can be turned into the reverse camera for the 09 downwards.Using the aux is also wonderful. There's a video box that can give you access to YouTube and the internet but I have not been able to verify it

So not all can be turned into reverse camera? And how exactly can we know which one will work?

I heard Range rover sport from 2009 downward don't allow bluetooth streaming of music, how do you guys go about listening to music without using aux cables
